It's About Time: The City of Wasilla Remembers History
I've been watching closely while the City of Wasilla has relocated, revamped, restored and reinvigorated the appreciation of our local history. The pioneers who built this State did so in humble buildings that still stand today. The City of Wasilla, under the direction of Mayor Rupright, has been diligently working on the downtown historical park, next to the Wasilla Meta Rose Library and the Dorothy Page Museum.
We recently spoke with LeRoi Heaven, head of the Wasilla Historical Society, while a city work crew lowered the Old Wasilla Post Office onto it's new foundation in the Wasilla Historical Town Site.

Our Four Favorite Alaska Sights | Atlas Obscura
Generations of artisans, builders, and scientists alike have found inspiration in Alaska’s rugged landscape. Here are four of Alaska's most unusual sights from across its wild, open spaces: Goose Creek Tower, a whimsical 185-foot-tall, stacked cabin that serves as one engineer and lawyer’s “poem to the sky”; Aunt Claudia’s Dolls, a doll museum featuring one of the world’s most diverse collections of indigenous dolls; Igloo City, an abandoned concrete hotel made to look like an igloo; and a frozen permafrost tunnel, where fossils of all kinds and frozen plant and animal remains abound.

Riding the Alaska Railroad to Seward - on the route of the Coastal Classic
The first video in a series on the Alaska Railroad - today's ride condenses a two hour and twenty minute trip into ten minutes. Arguably one of the Alaska Railroad's most scenic routes, the Coastal Classic travels from Anchorage to the port of Seward. Our video starts in the series of tunnels a little over 50 miles from Seward, and follows a little bit of rare passenger mileage - arriving not at the passenger station in Seward, but at the docks after going through the rail yard.

Rare Mileage on the Alaska Railroad: Airport and Palmer Branches
A rare journey on the Alaska Railroad, along two branches that are not regularly open to passengers. The Palmer Branch is primarily for freight, often carrying gravel, but is open to passengers a few times a year for other events, like the Alaska State Fair. The Anchorage Airport Branch is rarely used, except for special cases like visiting dignitaries and if cruise ships charter a train for its passengers.
