About:
The beauty of Tamolitch Falls (also known as Blue Pool) has always made it a popular spot. The Northwest Indians named this cliff-rimmed basin “Tamolitch,” which means “bucket.” Today, this rocky section of the McKenzie River National Recreation Trail from Trail Bridge Reservoir north along the McKenzie River and the stunningly clear water of the pool draw hundreds of hikers, photographers and mountain bikers.
A lava flow from Belknap Crater 1,600 years ago buried a 3 mile (4.8 km) stretch of the McKenzie River between Carmen Reservoir and Tamolitch Falls. The river resurfaces at Tamolitch Pool at the base of dry Tamolitch Falls, seeping up to the surface through the porous lava, creating a pristine turquoise blue colored pool. The water, a chilly 37 degrees Fahrenheit (2.8 C) on average, reflects the surrounding cliffs covered with alder and evergreen trees. While the falls are dry the majority of the time, during wet winters the river can flood over the lava bed and Tamolitch Falls will flow.
With the popularity of Blue Pool, please help protect this area and preserve the experience for you and for future visitors. Practice Leave No Trace Principles during your visit. There are no services or facilities such as garbage or restrooms so please pack-it-in pack-it-out.

Opal Creek and Three Pools - Oregon Swimming Hole Cliff Jumps - PNW Adventures
Opal Creek and Three pools are two of the best swimming hole areas in Oregon. They feature crystal clear emerald water and also some great medium sized cliff jumps ranging from 10' to 40' in height. We were there on a perfectly chilly, overcast, spring day and had the magical pools all to ourselves. The fact that the water temp of Opal Creek and Three Pools was 50 degrees also kept the crowds away!

Bend and Sisters, OR and Tumalo Falls!
Hello travelers :) Come explore Bend and Sisters with us!!! We spent the weekend there, by random, we fell in love with the town. I did most of the driving (we pick who the DDD is and it was me, hi) so I didn’t record most of the town… and because it got dark (sad face, I know). Before heading back home, we stopped at Tumalo Falls! I was raining and cold out, so we did not hike up to the top of the falls, but we will be back ???? Sisters was a cute Old Western town, we got delicious lattes and stickers for my scrapbook. It rained all the way home…which is fine because I had meal prepping to do anyways.

Grant's Getaways: Astoria's Backdoor Byway
It's time for a wonderful whistle-stop tour of waterfalls and wildlife with a noted landscape photographer along Astoria's little-known backdoor byway.
Little trails often lead to big discoveries, and that's when a camera comes in handy for Oregon's premier landscape photographer Steve Terrill. We strolled along the short graveled trail at Lee Wooden County Park -- just off State Highway 202 - and spotted the numerous little signs of the seasonal change; mostly measured by the colorful maple and alder leaves that were in a state of free fall. Terrill called the blizzard of leaves the little parts that make a bigger, better picture. Terrill likes to have fun along the little-known backdoor byway that connects the valley to the coast through the heart of the Oregon Coast range.
