Taiwan, 180km east of China, is known for modern cities, traditional Chinese temples, hot springs resorts and dramatic mountainous terrain. Taipei, in the north, has a number of busy night markets, as well as Chinese Imperial art at the National Palace Museum. Taipei 101, a 509m-tall, bamboo-shaped skyscraper with an observation deck, rises above the city.

My valentines date with my sister. We discover those treasure of Taiwanese from their ninuno ????.

TAIWAN: 2/9 ... A Day in Tamsui, New Taipei City - 13 FEB. 2016
淡水古蹟之遊Tamsui, an old Taiwanese town
Tamsui was an old Taiwanese town in the north of Taiwan before. This time we went there, it's been a famous scenic spot. There are so many people on weekends or the holidays. The crowded busy city is full of visitors because of the traditional snacks and food. The Street Artists everywhere, they sing, play the musical instruments or play the stunts. Initial building of Fort San Domingo (1629) and Oxford college(1882) in Tamsui are now an museum area. There we could try to understand the history and culture about Tamsui . It's a worthy place for us to visit this old Taiwanese town.
Day 2 05-23-18 National Palace Museum/Taipei 101/ Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf
Taipei 101 / TAIPEI 101
Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan
Formerly known as the Taipei World Financial Center – is a landmark supertall skyscraper.
Towering above the city like the gigantic bamboo stalk it was designed to resemble, Taipei 101 is impossible to miss. At 508m, Taipei 101 held the title of 'world's tallest building' for a number of years. Until 2011 it held the title of the world's tallest green building.
National Palace Museum
No. 221, Sec 2, Zhi Shan Rd, Shilin District, Taipei City, 111
The National Palace Museum, located in Taipei and Taibao, Taiwan, has a permanent collection of nearly 700,000 pieces of ancient Chinese imperial artifacts and artworks, making it one of the largest of its type in the world.
This extraordinary collection of historic art treasures, fascinating for its depth and breadth, has miraculously escaped destruction over hundreds of years. Some pieces date back to the tenth century.
Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf
251, New Taipei City, Tamsui District
One of the most famous locations in Taiwan, the Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf is well known for its beautiful sunsets, seafood, and, more recently with young people, its high amount of party boats.
Within the past few years, the wharf has gone through a major renovation process, building several new buildings including restaurants, hotels, shops, and the Lover's Bridge of Tamsui, completed in 2003. At night, the bridge illuminates with a wide variety of colours.
Since the wharf is located a bit outside of Taipei City, some visitors choose to stay overnight nearby the wharf.

Taipei Trip Part 1 (YangMingshan+Tamsui+Shihlin+CKS Memorial Hall+ National Taiwan Museum)
This was an awesome experience to travel around Taipei. Don't miss the landmark places in Taipei. These are some places that you guys have to go by visiting Taipei. Don't be afraid for being lost, because the visitor office centers are always for the traveler.
Please write the comment below or maybe some other places that I missed.
Taipei's Yingge Old Street (Taiwan)
Yingge's reputation for high quality ceramics began after potters and brick makers began to produce tea sets to accompany specially cultivated tea locally produced by Hakka Chinese immigrants.
Originally named Yingge Stone Village (鶯歌石庄), the town has since been renamed multiple times, including Yingge Village (鶯歌庄), Yingge Street (鶯歌街), Yingge Small Town (鶯歌鎮), and finally Yingge District of New Taipei City (新北市鶯歌區).
The main attraction in the town is Yingge Old Street (鶯歌陶瓷老街), sometimes called Yingge Ceramics Street or Yingge Pottery Street, and is a pedestrian shopping street specializing in ceramic arts, pottery, porcelain, and other related products ranging all price points.
Yingge is the largest center for ceramic production in Taiwan, with over 800 ceramic-related businesses in the area around Yingge Old Street.
The nearby Yingge Ceramics Museum (新北市立鶯歌陶瓷博物館) houses exhibits about the history of ceramics making, local culture, as well as a ceramics studio. The museum is accessible easily from the train station.

Taiwan Impression: Tamsui
Tamsui District (Chinese: 淡水區, formerly Tamshui Township) is a sea-side district in New Taipei City in northern Taiwan (ROC). It is named after the Tamsui River; the name means fresh water. The town is popular as a site for viewing the sun setting into the Taiwan Strait. Though modest in size (population 130,105), the district is home to three universities (Aletheia University, Tamkang University, and St. John's University) and has a large role in Taiwanese culture.
The Spanish arrived in the area of Tamsui in the 17th century. In the fall of 1629, the Spanish established the first major non-aboriginal settlement comprising the town and mission of Santo Domingo. The Spanish occupied northern Taiwan for the purpose of securing Spanish interests in the Philippines against the Dutch (who were already established in the South of Taiwan by then), the British, and the Portuguese, as well as for facilitating trade with China and Japan.
In 1641, the Spanish were expelled from Taiwan by the Dutch. The Spanish had already abandoned their settlement in Tamsui in 1638 and the Dutch built a new fort which they named Fort Anthonio (after the Governor-General of the Dutch East India Company Anthonio van Diemen). It is today known as Angmo Sing, POJ: âng mô sîng(ch: 紅毛城, literally, the Fortress of the Red-haired ones) and is the main building of the Fort San Domingo museum complex. In addition to pacifying the aboriginal tribes in the area, the Dutch also encouraged the immigration and settlement of the area by Han Chinese, as well as expanding the production and trade of sulfur, animal skins, and other indigenous resources.
The Dutch left Taiwan in 1661 following their defeat by Koxinga, who continued the policy of increasing Han Chinese immigration until the defeat of his descendants by the Qing Dynasty.

Taiwan Travel - National Palace Museum + Tamsui District
In this part 1 (of 2) of my 4th day in Taiwan I briefly visit the majestic National Palace Museum near the Shilin station. Afterwards I decided to stroll thru the Chinese garden next door where I had a nice quiet time. Later I continued for an unplanned visit to the more vibrant Tamsui district. It was a nice surprise to see all it had to offer and the countless food options. Finishing
my part 1 of this day I visit some creepy animals although I did feel bad for seeing them in such confined spaces (I'm not sure if this is normal). For more on this long day, please look out for part 2.
If you have any questions about my trip please leave them below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
