Radovan Luka is a place where we will spend the night in a wooden motel which is located on the Tara river bank. In Tepca, isolated village in the heart of the canyon. This place is known as the point at which the Tara canyon reaches a depth of over 1,300 meters. Your wardrobe, as well as clean towels and bed linen, await you in a your room where you will spend the night. Because your guide is also your cook, you will have enough time for a pleasant stroll along the river or other leisure activities, while he and the motel staff are preparing everything ready for the dinner in a canyon. After dinner, we continue socializing next to a pleasant outdoor campfire.
THE NEXT DAY
08:00 Start your day with a short walk by the river, give your legs and breathe fresh air.It will wake you up and open your appetite. Breakfast is another opportunity for your guide to demonstrate their culinary skills.The rafting trip is tentatively scheduled for 10:00 Second rafting day includes passing the most beautiful part of the river Tara canyon, its deepest part of 1,300 meters. Before entering the canyon you will have few attractive rapids and jump spot old line bridge. At this point, we organize a short break for swimming, jumping from the hanging line bridge and photo shooting. Further down the river, we have no less attractive locations that words can hardly describe. The most famous among them are Bajilovica Sige, cave lake which flows down to Tara River and makes big waterfall cascades 100 meters wide and 20 meters in height depending on the amount of water. Must see the place!Photos from Bajilovica sige are something that all visitors want to have in their travel album. But this place is only accessible by the river boat. After a few hours of paddling in the fresh air, all rafting participants get hungry. So it has become a tradition to make a break for lunch packages in place Brštanovica. To charge the batteries, because there starts the part with the best rapids on the river. From Radovan Luka to the Scepan Polje you will pass through a total of 29 rapids which will raise the level of adrenaline in your body and make this adventure unforgettable. But just from Brstanovica to Scepan Polje part you will have to do 22 rapids.The rafting trip takes 4-7 hours depending on water levels and your rowing opportunities. Together with the flow of the river Tara, our adventure ends in the Scepan Polje where rivers Tara and Piva make confluence and from there it is NOW Drina River and all Bosnia and Herzegovina. Here we organize lunch at the camp on the river bank where you can expect a delicious and rich traditional meal. After lunch, free activities at the camp.

In the summer of 2017 I visited Montenegro with two friends. We decided to do a road trip through some of Montenegro's unique National Parks. Not knowing what to expect, this country truly left us in awe. The hospitality of the people, the astonishing landscapes, and the lack of tourists were all pleasant surprises that made this trip a beautiful experience.
During our trip I was able to fly my drone at the most amazing places. This resulted in some interesting aerial shots, which I have used to create this edit.

Three hours away from the Adriatic coastline where the Bay of Kotor is located in, you will find Montenegro's fun-filled adventure attraction, Tara River Canyon, in the mountains of the Durmitor National Park.
The Durmitor National Park is listed as one of UNESCO World Heritage sites and is mainly renowned for white water rafting. Jeep safaris, zip-lining and canyoning can be done here. Literally, it's like a paradise for adventure seekers.
My two days filled with adventures with Rafting Club TARASPORT was unbelievably thrilling for me. I got to enjoy the gnarly mountains with rugged moonscape scenery with their Jeep Safari tour and zip-line on the first day and then went white water rafting down the Tara River with some canyoning afterwards. I'll be showing you photos from the Jeep Safaris and zip-lining tour on the first day.

Tara River Canyon Zipline Durmitor National Park Montenegro
The Tara River Canyon Zipline in Durmitor National Park, Montenegro, makes the claim of being the longest zipline in Europe. Other zip lines in Europe also make this claim so we're not so sure. But at 824 meters long and 152 meters high, its definitely one awesome thrill!

Durmitor National Park, Montenegro
Durmitor National Park is one of the most beautiful places in the Balkans. The Park is located at wide mountain region in North West of Montenegro. The National Park of Durmitor spreads across 39000 hectares and includes 78 kilometers of canyon of the Tara with altitude of 1300 meters above level of the River. Canyon of Tara is the largest in Europe and has over 1500 kinds of flora and 163 kinds of birds. Djurdjevica Tara Bridge is a symbol of river Tara canyon. It is build from 1937 until 1940; 365 meters long and is 172 meters high. Special beauty is in its arches, from which the longest one is 116m stretched. Town of Žabljak is situated in the heart of Durmitor region, at the altitude of 1456 meters, what makes it the highest urban conglomerate in the Balkans. There are 18 gorgeous glacial lakes called “mountain eyes” in the area of Durmitor National Park. The most famous is the Black Lake, 3 km away from center of Žabljak town. Black Lake is the biggest and the deepest of the 18 glacier lakes of Durmitor Mountain. Located at the foot of the mountain Medjed, this lake consists of two smaller lakes, whose depth of the highest wather marks are 24,5 m and 49,1 m. Those 2 lakes are connected by a narrow strait, that dries in summer time, creating 2 completely separate lakes. There is a 4km walking track around the edge of the lake. It's an easy path through the forest and there are lots of places to stop for picnic and to enjoy the view. Zminje lake is one of the Durmitor lakes. Hidden in the depths of the forest, in the stillness, this place is created for meditation. The altitude of the Zminje lake is 1.520m, and its greatest depth is 7,7m. It is surrounded by a dense forest of spruce and other conifers, and is located at the spring of Mlinski Creek. There are 748 springs of pure mountain water within Durmitor National Park and forests in which trees are over 100 years old. Bobotov kuk is the highest peak of Durmitor Mountain (2525 meters high). Tracking, mountaineering, Alpine and Nordic skiing, rafting on Tara river, fishing and camping are ways of recreation that are done in the Park. The breathtaking Durmitor National Park is truly exquisite in terms of its diversities which for its favorable climatic conditions and specific reflection of mountain lakes, breathtaking canyons and blossoming meadows provide unforgettable experience and impressions to every visitor.

Hiking to Tara Canyon in Montenegro
One of my hikes in the Durmitor mountains in Montenegro led me to the summit of Mount Ćurevac (1,625 m = 5,331 ft), from where you can look down into Tara Canyon, the deepest canyon in Europe.

Pause on mountain drinking source Studenac below mountain Prutaš, the village Virak, Sedlo pass (1,908m), Wavy lake, mountain ski resort Zabljak (1421m). Less than 10 minutes drive from the city centre Zabljak is famous viewpoint Ćurevac, where you can see Tara River and it’s the deepest canyon in Europe (over 1300 meters in depth). Then from Ćurevac, we drive down for about an hour to the river Tara through Tepca, isolated village in the canyon. (more than a 1-kilometre vertical difference between Ćurevac and the Tara River)

Preparation for rafting with your guide
Tara River Rafting for a period of 4-7 hours (depending on the water level of your paddling) with breaks for lunch, photographing, swimming. In this part of rafting, we find the first couple of attractive rapids and the old wire suspension bridge where we pause to jump and make some photos.

Durmitor Montenegro / The most beautiful place in Tara River Canyon
Waterfall Bailovića Sige is located in the national park Durmitor
in the canyon of the Tara River near the mouth of the river Susica,
in the north of the municipality of Zabljak,
near the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
One can get there only by water.
Waterfall provides the Tara River with a quite amount of clean water at a speed of several hundred liters per second, which falls from 30-meter height from the cave.
Incredibly beautiful place in the heart of canyon. A fabulous panorama of foaming clear water against the background of emerald green of the slope waits for fans of whitewater rafting.
