Apologies for the sound! My shotgun mic wasn't working and I was relying on my Canon point and shoot mic which has pretty crappy sound quality.

Journey Mercies - An Original Musical
An original musical by Mount Carmel BP Church.
Uncle Leong is a devoted Christian mentor to a group of mischievous but good-hearted youths who frequent 220, the neighbourhood coffee shop.
One of the older youths, Jason, wants to pursue his passion for music overseas against the wishes of Ah Seng, his adopted father. Another youth, Cassie, faces disapproval from her materialistic mother who disapproves of her socialising with the youths and stall holders at 220.
When the landlord of 220 plans to sell the coffee shop for a more lucrative business, everyone at 220 comes together in a bid to save their community. But as Uncle Leong becomes more involved, he does so at the expense of his family life.
As events unfold, lifelong secrets are revealed. Soon, the community begin to question who they can trust and if they can forgive.

SUMMARY
=======
Armenian cuisine includes the foods and cooking techniques of the Armenian people and traditional Armenian foods and dishes. The cuisine reflects the history and geography where Armenians have lived as well as sharing outside influences from European and Levantine cuisines. The cuisine also reflects the traditional crops and animals grown and raised in Armenian populated areas.
The preparation of meat, fish, and vegetable dishes in an Armenian kitchen often requires stuffing, frothing, and puréeing. Lamb, eggplant, and bread (lavash) are basic features of Armenian cuisine. Armenians traditionally used cracked wheat (bulgur) in preference to maize and rice. The flavor of the food relies on the quality and freshness of the ingredients rather than on excessive use of spices.
Fresh herbs are used extensively, both in the food and as accompaniments. Dried herbs are used in the winter, when fresh herbs are not available.Wheat is the primary grain and is found in a variety of forms, such as: whole wheat, shelled wheat, bulgur (parboiled cracked wheat), semolina, farina, and flour.Historically, rice was used mostly in the cities and in certain rice-growing areas (e.g., Marash and the region around Yerevan). Legumes are used liberally, especially chick peas, lentils, white beans, and kidney beans. Nuts are used both for texture and to add nutrition to Lenten dishes. Of primary usage are walnuts, almonds, pine nuts, but also hazelnuts, pistachios (in Cilicia), and nuts from regional trees.Fresh and dried fruit are used both as main ingredients and as sour agents. As main ingredients, the following fruit are used: apricots (fresh and dried), quince, melons, and others. As sour agents, the following fruits are used: sumac berries (in dried, powdered form), sour grapes, plums (either sour or dried), pomegranate, apricots, cherries (especially sour cherries), and lemons. In addition to grape leaves, cabbage leaves, chard, beet leaves, radish leaves, strawberry leaves, and others are also stuffed.

Here we go again!
We board a flight from Amsterdam and in 9 hours we are in the Caribbean. After a layover of just a couple of hours on Curacao, we fly on to Jamaica. We land in Kingston around 11 am local time. The air is hot, but not too humid.
We have a 3 hours layover, so we decide to get out of the airport and go have lunch in Port Royal, half an hour away on the coast. It's a bit of a ghost-town, once a very rich merchant harbor, destroyed at the end of the seventeenth century by a powerful earthquake. It looks like it never really recovered…
We eat lunch in a small fish-restaurant, famous for its snapper. But I eat jerk chicken because I am picky with my fish, and the jerk-spices here are amazing!
Of course we drink some Red Stripe beers, and Simon and myself decide it's time to find some weed. It does not take long before we hit the jackpot: literally on the side of the local Police station, along the seaside, there are some barracks and shacks; inside a group of Rastas is busy cleaning and chopping weed and rolling it up in small balls, using rolling papers as containers.
We ask if we can buy some, and the guys are thrilled. It's cheap, less than 1 Euro per gram. But it's a bit bitter, very leafy, and we enjoy it just because it's been a while since we smoked in Amsterdam! Some of the Rastas in the back are smoking crack cocaine in a glass pipe, the smell is terribly sour. They ask if we like some, and we politely tell them we are just here for the ganja; they nod, and scream Jah Rastafari!
We sit and smoke a joint with them, and chat a bit about the local weed, and the cops. It's incredible that this is all happening next to the Police station.
We leave as soon as the joint is over, and we go back to the restaurant to join the rest of the crew.
It's time to get back to the airport and catch a Jamaican Airlines flight to Montego Bay, where our local contacts are waiting. The flight is really short, under half hour, and we arrive in MoBay before sunset. Bigga, Shanti, Nampo and Taleban are waiting for us and it's great to see them again; Arjan and myself spent some crazy days with these guys not long ago, during our scouting trips on the island.
These guys are a tight crew, and they are going to take care of us during the next days of this filming trip.
Nampo is a older Rasta, wise man, with lots of contacts and very respected.
Taleban, his friend, is a grower and a smuggler, a real pirate and one of the funniest guys we ever had with us during our expeditions.
Bigga is our driver/bodyguard, he's a man of the road and he knows who and what you need to know to keep us safe.
Shanti is a local singer, a reggae artist with an amazing talent and a great personality. I know him since he was 10 years old, back in 1994, when I spent a few weeks near where he lived with his father (the man supplying me with fine herb at the time). It was really special to find Shanti during our scouting trips back in July, he's now a grown up man… and I am getting old! Shanti will come along and make sure the soundtrack of our travels is inspiring and inspired.
We get the cars, two Toyota Fortuner, and we load up the mountain of gear we are carrying. Then we drive down to Negril in the sunset light, and when we arrive it's already dark. We decide to spend the first night at the Blue Cave Castle, a really cozy place on the rocky cliffs of Negril.
It's another true 1994-flashback for me, this is one of the places where I stayed when I was a 20-years-old ganja-traveler, already a Strain Hunter without knowing it…. Of course to make the flashback even more intense the same room where I slept then is available, so I take it.
It still looks the same.
We are tired from the long travel, and we decide to go for some food. Unfortunately the chef is sick, so we decide to find something not too far away. We hit a jerk-chicken stand by the side of the road and we eat like there's no tomorrow.
After a few Red Stripes and a few joints we go back to the hotel, where we smoke some good amount of high-grade weed, and some gum, the local finger-hash.
The weed is definitely an indica-cross, it tastes sweet and strong, and they say it's from a site not too far from where we are. We make a plan for tomorrow, and we go to sleep. Jamaica is great. It's a true privilege to be here again.
Jah Bless!
And now we are back with MisterX pics, the man is a true artist..... enjoy!

BUILDING A PAELLA
I love to see people making these and they take a long time to build. I learned to make them with snails as one of the primary ingredients.
This was the Friday morning market in La Capte. I would like to do more market vids but really, the vendors especially often don't like being recorded.
This is a port village in Hyeres-Les-Palmiers, France (they have several active ports). This is in the Var déppartement on the Côte d'Azur, French Riviera. It reminded me a bit of Cape Cod here, but with palm trees. Provence is a wonderful region of France and very famous.
I had tried the Spanish dish without rice back in Arles and loved it, but it was our last day on this nice vacation and we wanted food I could easily heat up and not make a mess in the kitchen with. (The spouse is kind of a neat freak.)
The woman here taunts me because I am being invasive with the camera. There are versions of paella with black rice and some can be vegetarian, but usually this is a seafood and shellfish mix with saffron.
The market in La Capte is on Friday mornings and is enormous. No way did we see it all. Provence has excellent food, and although we saw many of the things in this market were set up for tourists and at elevated prices, we found good stuff here.
You can get out here from Hyeres via shuttle bus (some are free). They run really often, to cut down on car traffic. This paella was 7 euros per portion and we bought two portions. It made an excellent lunch but we agreed, we should have saved it for dinner, as we were both too tired to go to a restaurant on our last night in this stunning place. It's a bit hard to calculate, when you rent a vacation house or apartment, how you will organize, pack up, tidy up (your rental may include cleaning but we like to be neat) and for me not to have to do too much before we move. Actually, we always keep two ready to eat meals on hand for travel. Yes they are boring but they can be heated in hot water or cooked in a microwave oven, and it's a hot meal. Very cheap and lightweight, too. We got down here by train and I am disabled so everything has to go in one suitcase, not too large, for two people for a couple of weeks. I have to carry a ventilator so I can sleep at night (sleep apnea), usually make us a picnic for travel, I have my handbag, but we keep it very light. I've learned how to make lists so I can pack quickly, in an hour if need be, and to keep the necessary on hand.
La Capte has great beaches and we loved a bakery there -- we went back twice and I was teasing the employee. She had such a smile of fun! Probably wondered, Where did she drift in from?
Hyeres-Les-Palmiers has a complex geography and has an insthmus, islands, a Medieval quarter, a lot of cultural activities and yes, palm trees. This used to be the world's source for them.
