PressTV - Iran, Iraq children celebrate friendship.flv
Tehran, 27 September 2010
Iranian and Iraqi youth were the stars at a 24 September ceremony to celebrate peace between their countries. On this date thirty years ago began the eight year Iran‐Iraq war that killed and injured hundreds of thousands of both sides. With a whole generation of orphans wishing to prevent future conflicts, the focus on children at the recent celebration of peace was most
appropriate.
The participating youth met at the Shalamcheh
border crossing, where the heaviest battle of the Iran‐Iraq war took place in 1987. They then
boarded the Friendship Boat anchored midway on Arvand River. The waterway forms the southern and most contentious segment of the Iran‐Iraq border. Dispute over navigation rights on Arvand was among the primary causes of the 8 years war.
According to well known Iranian novelist and peace advocate Habib Ahmadzadeh, who co-organized the event, Iraqi counterparts plan peace exchanges like this celebration in future years.
Ahmadzadeh, a native of the border area and a war veteran, believes the Persian Gulf remains volatile. He hopes to help reduce the likelihood of more conflict by healing the scars and erasing the hatreds of the past.
The Tehran Peace Museum was also a co-sponsor of the event.

Iran SANATI's Unique Art collection Anthropology Museum Tehran
Rodin of Iran. A unique collection of sculptures by the late Mr Ali Akbar SANATI.
Sanati was the symbol of self-reliance who worked for the sake of advancement and sublimity. He has left about 1,000 paintings and 400 sculptures in record of his career.Ali Akbar Sanati was born in Kerman in 1916. He lost his father at an early age and was looked after by a benevolent man. Very soon he discovered that Sanati has a special talent in artistic works and sent the young Ali Akbar to Tehran to receive training at Kamal-ol Molk Art School. He learned sculpture and panting from maestros Hossien Behzad, Abolhassan Sediqi, and Ali Rokhsar and he obtained a master's degree in painting after 12 years of study. A stroke left this Iranian eternal figure and master of sculpture almost paralyzed and he lost his speech since 2003. He had been under intensive care at home by a team of physicians since then but he could not recover due to his old age. Sanati was almost 90 years old at the time of his death. According to the announcements, his funeral will be held on 5th of April and his body will be carried from the front of the Islamic Parliament of Iran or the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tehran with the presence of Iranian artists and artistic-cultural figures
He returned to his hometown where he taught 40 children in a nursery for orphans. He later set up a museum at Tehran's Toup Khaneh Square (currently known as Imam Khomeini Square) and transferred it to the then Red Lion and Sun Society (modern Red Crescent Society). The museum was inaugurated in 1946 with an exhibit which received extensive public welcome. He set up another museum at Hafez Street in Tehran in 1951 to present his own paintings. He then took several of his paintings to a museum he set up in Kerman in 1977. During the US-backed military coup to topple the nationalist government of Dr. Mohammad Mossadeq in 1953, his museum in Tehran was ransacked by rioters and some of his sculptures were destroyed. It took two years for Sanati to repair his museum and sculptures.

Iran Tehran Research Reactor (TRR) rebuilding report گزارشي از نيروگاه پژوهشي تهران ايران
April 8, 2018 (Persian calendar 1397/1/19)
Tehran province (استان تهران)
Tehran city (شهر تهران)
Under the Atoms for Peace program the United States supplied Iran with a 5-megawatt pool-type nuclear research reactor, named the Tehran Research Reactor (TRR), which became operational in 1967 and initially used highly enriched uranium fuel.
TRR is a 5 MW pool-type reactor in which the light water is used as moderator, coolant and shielding. TRR core lattice is a 9×6 array containing Standard Fuel Elements (SFEs), Control Fuel Elements (CFEs), irradiation boxes (as vertical tubes provided within the core lattice configuration for long term irradiation of samples and radioisotope production) and graphite boxes (as reflectors).
After the Iranian Revolution the United States cut off the supply of highly enriched uranium (HEU) fuel for the TRR, which forced the reactor to be shut down for a number of years. Due to the nuclear proliferation concerns caused by the use of HEUs and following Reduced Enrichment Research and Test Reactor (RERTR) Programs, Iran signed agreements with Argentina's National Atomic Energy Commission to convert the TRR from highly enriched uranium fuel to low-enriched uranium, and to supply the low-enriched uranium to Iran in 1987–88.
TRR core was converted to use Low Enriched Uranium (LEU) fuels in 1993. Fuel elements of TRR are now plate-type U3O8-Al with approximately 20% enrichment. In February 2012, Iran loaded the first domestically produced fuel element into the Tehran Research Reactor.
Standard fuel elements of TRR have 19 fuel plates, while CFEs have only 14 fuel plates to accommodate the fork-type control rods. Control of the reactor is accomplished by the insertion or removal of safety and regulating absorber plates, which contain Ag–In–Cd alloy and stainless steel, respectively. Additional control is provided by the inherent negative temperature coefficient of reactivity of the system.
The reactor core is immersed in either section of a two-section, concrete pool filled with water. One of the sections of the pool contains an experimental stall into which beam tubes and other experimental facilities converge. The other section is an open area for bulk irradiation studies. The reactor can be operated in either section.
The reactor experimental facilities in the stall end are as follow:
1. Two pneumatic rabbit tubes (for short term irradiation of samples)
2. One graphite thermal column
3. One 12×12 beam tube
4. Four 6 diameter beam tubes
5. One 8 diameter beam tube
6. One 6 diameter through tube
TRR core cooling is accomplished by gravity flow of pool water at nominal rate of 500 m3/hr through the reactor core, grid plate, plenum and into the hold-up tank from where it is pumped through the shell of the heat exchanger and then back into the pool.
TRR offers a variety of education and exposure services and production of radioisotopes for medical, scientific and industrial centers. One of the primary objectives of the facility is to render services to scientists, engineers and graduate students in nuclear techniques.
Tehran research reactor can be utilized for laboratory work involving studies of the reactor core and experiments on neutron diffusion, neutron diffraction, shielding, gamma spectroscopy, boron neutron capture therapy, neutron radiography and Neutron Activation Analysis.

Iran: Tehran will retaliate if attacked warns IRGC chief at US drone exhibition opening
Subscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe
Iran is ready to turn any country which attacks it into a battlefield, said an Iranian top military official on Saturday in Tehran, as tensions in the region continued to rise after Saudi Arabia and the US blamed Iran for recent drone attacks on Saudi oil facilities.
Speaking at the opening of an exhibition of US drones reportedly captured by Iran, the commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hossein Salami, warned that If any country wants to attack the Islamic Republic, it will see its territory turn into the conflict's main battlefield. We'll never let any war be dragged into Iran. We will continue until the end.
Salami took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony at Tehran's Islamic Revolution and Holy Defence museum, where the remains of US drones that the Iranian military says it has downed and captured were unveiled.
Tensions between the Islamic Republic and the US increased further earlier in the week, as US President Donald Trump imposed fresh sanctions on the Central Bank of Iran and its National Development Fund, in response to the country's alleged involvement in the recent drone attacks.
