Tellico River Trout Fishing
The Tellico River is one of the most heavily stocked trout rivers in the Southeast. In addition to large numbers of trout the Tellico River Hatchery stocks quality fish and Tellico River Trophies, trout that anglers from North Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and Alabama are flocking to this mountain stream to catch. We filmed Pautzke Outdoors over the 13-mile section of water planted with trout and used Pautzke Gold Label, Silver Label, Orange Deluxe and Yellow Jacket salmon eggs to catch dozens of trout.

Trout Fishing Tennessee's Citico Creek
East Tennessee's Tellico River is one of the most heavily fished trout waters in The South, but it gets crowded. Citico Creek is often referred to as Tellico's little sister. Flowing a short drive away Citico is stocked with half the number of rainbows (25,000 pounds is nothing to complain about, however) from the Tellico River Hatchery, is planted for half the distance (6 miles of water are stocked) and gets way less pressure. In short, it's a great place to catch rainbow trout with Pautzke salmon eggs as you'll see in this episode of Pautzke Outdoors.

Winter Trout Is Underway
The Winter Trout Stocking Program is underway and many anglers are taking advantage of sunny days to get out and take home a limit of trout. During the winter months these fish can survive in streams that usually aren't cold enough to support trout. It is an excellent opportunity for anglers to get out and enjoy an afternoon fishing. hefferlin + kronenberg architects has designed a dwelling for a doctor and his wife along tennessee’s tellico river. the project, entitled ‘tellico cabin’ features two steeply pitched roofs supported with heavy oak timber creating perfect isosceles triangles. internally, the ceilings lend the space a spiritual quality while also providing sleeping lofts for guest bedrooms. a skylit screened porch at the entry separates sleeping accommodation from the living areas.
the structure is clad in mountain stone and dark stained cedar, while the windows are bronze aluminum clad wood. reclaimed heart pine is used for for the flooring, while the landscaping was designed with plants and vegetation indigenous to the region.
