Scenic & beautiful Tennessee countryside on the Tennessee Central Railway Colortour to Cookville
Scenic & beautiful Tennessee countryside, there is a strong smell of burning wood in the air from the train running over branches, twigs and leaves on the rails, the speed and the friction heats-up the track debris and makes small ammounts of smoke, dust from disintegration and the odor of wood burning. Hanging out the side of a train makes your eyes water pretty bad, sunglasses or goggles will help greatly! Oh, and NEVER LOOK BACK because a branch could take your head off!!!! FOR REAL!!! You can look back from first class or riding the kaboose. The Souvenir Car Tennessee Central Railway Super Fall Foliage to Cookeville 180 Mile Round Trip
The Gift Shop Car is like a Fun House on rails! It rocks back and forth excessively compared to the other cars because it has far less suspension than do the other cars. This is my favorite car to pass through because it's way more challenging and lots of fun! Great place to people watch! Most of the video is sideways in order to be able to show the complete passageway from that car to the next and how much movement there is in between, kind of scarey--but safe, you just need something sturdy to hang onto while stepping over to the next car. Not an area to be wearing high heels ladies! SATURDAY, October 23rd, 2010 ALL RESERVED-SEAT PASSENGER TRAIN SERVICE NASHVILLE-COOKEVILLE & RETURN 180 mile round trip on a 1 mile long passenger train. Riding on the Nose of a Locomotive from Nashville to Watertown, TN
This video shows what it would be like to ride on the front of a locomotive, sitting on the coupler. The camera is mounted just above the coupler on the front of an EMD E Unit passenger locomotive for this late afternoon excursion from the Tennessee Central Railway Museum in Nashville to Watertown, TN. The museum's excursions are on the Nashville and Eastern Railroad, originally the Tennessee Central Railway. This railroad is also used by the Music City Star commuter trains. This excursion passes through Donelson, Hermitage, Mt. Juliet, Martha and Lebanon on its way to Watertown.
Christmas on the Tennessee Central Line
On the first two Saturdays of December, the Tennessee Central Railway Museum held its annual North Pole Express excursions for four sold out crowds who rode the trains to meet Santa. Until they actually boarded the train, they were entertained by Nathan, Andrew, Stephen, Jeff and myself, with our wide range of HO Scale model trains. My camcorder shows some of our trains running around the TCRM's layout, as well as the departure of the real trains heading for the North Pole. Add a little bit of TM Books and Video nostalgia into the mix, and here is the end result.
From all of us at the Tennessee Central Railway Museum, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and all the best in the new year!

R.J. Corman's Nashville & Eastern Action in Lebanon TN. August 2019 Plus Music City Star
I got very lucky and caught some action on the Nashville & Eastern's former Tennessee Central mainline in and around Lebanon TN.
The railroad was recently acquired by shortline empire R.J. Corman at the end of 2018 and they've made their presence known by adding new signs on the shop buildings and at the road leading to the yard as well. They have also painted two of the N&E's GE four axle Dash-8's into the new Corman/N&E scheme.
B39-8E 8572 and B40-8W 573 were the first units to receive the scheme at the beginning of the year.
8572 was at one time the last LMX painted unit left on the roster where 573 wore the classic red and silver warbonnet of the Santa Fe.
While it is sad to see those classic 90's schemes disappear into history, it's nice to see them in fresh paint that, might I say, looks really sharp!
After I got the turn from Nashville coming into the yard/shop area I got them again up at the Lebanon Music City Star station on their way back out of town.
Afterwards it wasn't long before the first afternoon run of the Star arrived with former Amtrak F40PH 120 for power.
Enjoy!
