I had a wee bit of a crash with my drone here in Turkey. We hiked up to these amazing ruins just outside of Antalya and had them all to ourselves. Then, I got a little bit silly with my drone (whose name is fido) and crashed the phantom into the wall of the ruins. In the end, the drone is OK, although there is a crack in the gimble which means that the footage filmed is a bit tilted (nothing a little editing can't fix), But, it was a day full of lessons learned. Don't fly in heavy wind, and be smarter in general when flying. The worst part about this drone crash is that the SD card popped out and I couldn't find it, meaning that the video footage of both the crash and the waterfalls in Antalya earlier got lost.

Termessos was a Pisidian city built at an altitude of more than 1000 metres at the south-west side of the mountain Solymos (modern-day Güllük Dağı) in the Taurus Mountains (modern-day Antalya province, Turkey). It lies 30 kilometres to the north-west of Antalya. It was founded on a natural platform on top of Güllük Dağı, soaring to a height of 1,665 metres from among the surrounding travertine mountains of Antalya. Concealed by pine forests and with a peaceful and untouched appearance, the site has a more distinct and impressive atmosphere than many other ancient cities. Termessos is one of the best preserved of the ancient cities of Turkey. The city was founded by the Solims who were mentioned by Homer in the Iliad in connection with the legend of Bellerophon. Because of its natural and historical riches, the city has been included in a national park bearing its name, the Mount Güllük-Termessos National Park.

5. Old Harbour
Antalya's old harbor is a beautiful place of boutiques, cafes, bazaar, and the yacht that looks soft overlooking the Mediterranean. Here was a major economic center in Antalya, in the 2nd century until the mid-19th century – 20 serves as the main port. Currently, it is one of the attractions that offer shopping tour and a very beautiful panorama that is seeing a sunset above the ship.
4. Duden Park
Duden Waterfall tourist park is the Duden is about 10 km to the beaches in the North East of Antalya. At the entrance, they were charging admission and you can get into a beautiful Green Park with a botanical garden, the table is open. You can listen to the sound of water glittering ice blue ocean are beautiful through the trees. All these areas are kept in good conditions in peace and views of the waterfall is very enchanting.
3. Termessos
Termesos is located 34 kilometers to the West of Antalya, this ancient building is the site of a popular amphitheater among tourists. This site runs along the Valley of Termessos, here you will get an awesome view. Wear strong shoes and take a lot of water if you want to explore this site completely. Terraced streets and the upper agora is impressive but do not miss theater, where views of the Taurus Mountains at the peak.
2. Alanya Castle
The castle was built on the remains of the Byzantine times and Roman era fortress. After it was tranquilized under the Ottoman Empire, the Castle ceased to be purely defensive, and numerous villas were built inside the walls during the 19th century. Today that building is the museum open. Most of the area within the walls, including the castle of land open to the public.

Perge is located 17 Kilometres to the East of Antalya, this site was the capital of ancient Pamphylia. While it looks like the spacious Stadium and filled with the debris of ancient buildings such as temples and half destroyed, and a large colonnaded agora. You can explore long colonnaded streets and temples-half collapse, the Roman Baths, the Hellenistic Gate, and the Acropolis, all very interesting.

Termessos is within a protected national park approx. 20 miles northwest of Antalya, Turkey. It is located on the west of a small settlement called Döşemealtı.
Termessos & Teleferik Heyecanı, Turkey
Termessos is one of the most interesting ancient sites in Antalya. It's located inside the National Park to the north-west of the province, approximately 34 km (21 miles) from the city center. It's a spectacular Psidian city built on the Taurus Mountains at approximately 1050 meters (3445 feet) above the sea level. Today, the site is mentioned in Unesco's Tentative List for World Heritage.
The ancient city of Termessos was found by the Solyms who lived in the Psidia region, who have been cited in the Iliad by Homer in connection with the legend of Bellerophon. We don't know much about the Solyms but probabily they were of Anatolian origin, unlike other settlers in the region who usually came from the sea. The city is one of the few places which Alexander the Great couldn't capture it despite his siege in 333 B.C. because it was an eagle's nest built in a valley hidden between the mountains. Even today, in order to visit the city you should have a good physical condition to walk uphill, but when you reach the site the views are breathtaking.
During the 2nd century B.C. the Termessians fought against neighbouring Lycian cities and then against Isinda who were their other neighbour in Psidia region. They also fought against Serge, another ancient city near Attaleia (modern day Antalya). Termessos had good relations with Attalos II, king of Pergamon.
During the Roman empire, Termessos became a Roman ally so they received their independent status from the Senate in 71 B.C. The inhabitants abandoned the city in the 5th century A.D. after a gradual decline and earthquakes which destroyed its aqueduct and thus their water supply.
Approach and Landing on (AYT) ✈️ Antalya Airport, Turkey
In this video I show you the approach to, as well as the landing on runway 18 Left. Almost every landing on this airport is from the sea side. The approach shows you the village Korkuteli before crossing the mountains of Güllük Dagi Termessos Milli Park. Once over it, you'll fly above Antalya. Almost 90 degree right turn towards the sea, followed by 2 left turns on 7 kilometers above the Mediterranean Sea to get in landings position. On 1:40 in this video, you can see the airport lovely from above. I landed here many times, this was a decent, fine landing, but I hate it when people start clapping their hands after the landing. The pilot is only doing his job. Well I guess these people don't fly so frequently as I do. Enjoy your stay and traveling in lovely Turkey. Questions about this video? I have a rental car from AutoEurope.com and have been making my way around Turkey. On this episode, I made my way to Antalya. Of course, I didn't take the main roads, but got as far off the beaten path as I could. I made stops at Beysehir Lake and drove an amazing mountain pass. Such a good day.
