THE TERRACOTTA WARRIORS - XI'AN, CHINA ????????
The eighth day of my journey around China, where I travel from Shanghai, to Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi'an and Beijing. I visit the incredible Terracotta Warriors outside of Xi'an, an army built in 210 BC to protect Emperor Qin Shi Huang in his afterlife. Only discovered by local Chinese farmers as recently as 1974, each warrior is unique, with different details to facial features and uniform. One of the main tourist attractions in China, The Terracotta Warriors are a true wonder and an amazing example of Chinese history.

Terracotta Army, Xian, China in 4K (Ultra HD)
The Terracotta Army was created during the reign of the first emperor of China's Qin dynasty (221-207 B.C.), to protect the emperor's tomb. 700,000 people probably worked on the site, near the city of Xian, for almost three decades. More than 8000 figures have been excavated so far. The tomb has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Exploring Xian, China : Beyond the TerraCotta Warriors
Come with me as I explore the things to do in Xian. Xian is the capital of Shaanxi province. Home of the famed Terracotta Warriors! But there's so much more things to do in Xian. I didn't realise that here you can also hike Mount HuaShan, the most dangerous hike in the world! It's one of the craziest things I've done but so worth it. There's also the Yellow River, Hukou Waterfalls, the Ancient Walled City of Xian, Muslim Quarter, and so much more. Xian is definitely the place to go in China for ancient history and adventure.

Terracotta Army: The greatest archaeological find of the 20th century - BBC News
In March 1974, Chinese farmers digging a well unearthed the greatest archaeological find of the century - the buried Terracotta Army. After coming across a life-sized human head made of clay in Xi’an, China, archaeologists were called in to investigate. What they found was extraordinary. Thousands of life-like terracotta figures from the Qin dynasty, fashioned 2,000 years ago to protect the First Emperor of China in the afterlife. Archaeologist Li Xiuzhen has worked on the site since the 1980s. Her team was the first to discover that each warrior was originally painted in bright colours.

TERRACOTTA ARMY OF XI'AN, CHINA - First King of CHINA

Watch The Documentary Here:????
In this video, I have shared my experience of Terracotta Warriors of Xi'an, China. The Terracotta Army in Xi'an, aka Terracotta Warriors and Horses, is a super large collection of life-size terra cotta sculptures in battle formations, reproducing the mega imperial guard troops of Emperor Qin Shi Huang (259 - 210BC), the first emperor of the first unified dynasty of Imperial China.
Being the most significant archaeological excavations of the 20th century and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Terracotta Army is no doubt a must-see for every visitor to Xi'an.
Originally the ancient funerary project for Emperor Qin Shi Huang, the Terracotta Warriors China are now displayed in a live museum built on the site, officially named Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, showing the life stories of the emperor and the once-powerful Qin Empire (221 – 207BC) in those days of pomp and vigor. Terracotta Soldiers are Taller Than Modern People.

XI'AN China City Tour | Terracotta Worriers
XI'AN is located in the central part of China. I first visited this city back in September 2012. I was so excited to return to the city six years later and see it during the winter time. I've always found XI'AN to be a very interesting city. It's famous for the Terracotta Army, which was discovered by a farmer decades ago. XI'AN has a lot more to offer than just the Terracotta Worries, so please remember that! If you're traveling through China, this is a must stop!

China Tour: Terracotta Warriors - Xi'An China - Pit #1 Walkabout and Talkabout
Highlights from excavation Pit #1. This was certainly the highlight of my trip. Selfie cam does not do any justice to the actual experience of being there, sizing it all up. What a haunting yer beautiful experience. Nothing else like it. That feeling of being so close to so much history.
Pit #1 housed the main army. The Commanders and auxiliary are in PIt #2 and #3, many still waiting to be unearthed.

XI'AN | Why you don't need no terracotta warriors
Most people come to Xi'an almost exclusively to see the terracotta warriors. I've seen the terracotta warriors, and yeah, they're cool. But you know what's not cool? A mosh pit of tourists. My advice - google the terracotta warriors, watch some videos, and give them a skip. Spend those few days enjoying the amazing city of Xi'an, a place totally worth the trip, even if only to sample the world's oldest hamburger

3 days in Xi'an - TOP attractions | CHINA (Terracotta Warriors + more)
If you've ever dreamed of seeing the terracotta warriors, seeing the most well preserved ancient fortress in the world or simply eating some of the best hand pulled noodles then Xi'an needs to go on your travel bucket list.
We're joined by our parents who flew all the way from NZ for this special family trip. We made our way around some of Xi'an's most prominent landmarks. 3 days of adventure starting with visiting The Terracotta Army.
We have always wanted to see the terracotta army in Xian China. We were fortunate enough to see a few of the terracotta warriors in an exhibition shown at Te Papa (Wellington, NZ) not too long ago but seeing the actual terracotta warriors / terracotta army pit in Xi'an, China itself where they have been and still are being excavated is simply amazing.
Insanely crowded but it's a must visit attraction when in Xian China to visit the terracotta army.
Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum (Terracotta Warriors)
Address: Lintong, Xi'an, Shaanxi, China, 710612
Hours: Monday - Sunday 8:30am–5pm
Xi'an is well known for its delicious Chinese noodles so we hit up a local restaurant for a bowl of mouth watering hand pulled Xi'an noodles. We both love Xian noodles so getting to have them in Xian China itself was so good!
We then visited the Small Wild Goose Pagoda sometimes also known as Little Wild Goose Pagoda which is one of two significant pagodas in Xi'an, Shaanxi, China. The other being the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda or Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Both pagodas are important Buddhist sites, dating back to the Tang Dynasty around 1,300 years ago.
Finally we took a walk along Xian's city fortress also known as Xi'an City Wall and Fortifications of Xi'an. It's the most complete city wall that has survived in China and also one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Definitely another must visit when in Xi'an China. We went closer to the evening and was able to enjoy and capture a beautiful sunset over Xi'an too.
Location: Around the city center of Xi’an
Four Main Gates: East Gate (Changle Gate), West Gate (Anding Gate), South Gate (Yongning Gate), North Gate (Anyuan Gate)
You can get your tickets at any of these gates.
The next day we visited one of the most famous mountains of China which is Mount Hua aka Huashan. The area is huge so there are multiple different routes you can take. We decided to go on a cable car up Huashan mountain for our parents' sake. The cable car line starts from Donggoukou to West Peak with a stop at White Sparrow Temple. The whole ride is about 4,211 meters (2.6 miles) long and takes about 20 minutes.
Later on that evening we return to check out Muslim Street as well as the Great Mosque of Xi'an. The Great Mosque of Xi'an despite it being a mosque is unique because of its ancient Chinese architecture. It's a nice quiet place to visit especially if you're needing a break from the super loud and busy Muslim Street.
Muslim Street in Xi'an is packed with a lot of streetfood, restaurants and souvenir stalls. Definitely another top place to visit when in Xi'an China. After a full day of adventure we find ourselves some more delicious hand pulled noodles because when in Xi'an, you must get as much Xi'an noodles as you can in you ????
Muslim Street
Address: Huajue Alley, Zhong Lou Shang Quan, Lianhu, Xi'an, China
For our final day our family went to Shaanxi History Museum. Shaanxi History Museum was the first modern national museum in China and definitely worth visiting if you enjoy learning about ancient Chinese history.
Address: 91 Xiaozhai E Rd, Xiao Zhai Shang Ye Jie, Yanta, Xi'an, Shaanxi, China
Hours: Tuesday - Sunday - 8am–6pm

Xi’an Travel: Street Food, Terracotta Warriors, Hotel Tours
Just got back from four days in Xi'an, China. The first two days I stayed at the Hilton Xi'an and spent time exploring inside the walls of the old city, eating my way through the Muslim market in the morning and at the night market in the evening. I also spent a morning at Yong Xing Fang, which was awesome. Then I moved hotels to the Grand Hyatt in the high-tech industries development zone (like the Silicon Valley) of Xi'an and spent the next few days doing more traditional tourist sightseeing, checking out the Shaanxi museum and the Terracotta Warriors. I had the best time!
