7. Browse the Falls Park Farmers' Market
I'll be honest, I don't like fruit and I only like a few select vegetables, so you wouldn't think I'd enjoy the Farmers' Market. But, I do! I love the colors! From the gorgeous flowers and plants to the array of colorful produce, it's candy for the eyes. I've been to the Farmers' Market several times just to browse and people watch. It's a fun Saturday morning activity. The Falls Park Farmers' Market is open from 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM Saturdays May through October.
8. Remember Our Veterans at Memorial Park
If you've had a friend or relative serve in the armed forces, you must make it a point to visit Veterans' Memorial Park at 1021 W. Bailey Street, not far from Terrace Park. Sioux Falls River Greenway
It was a dream that began over 100 years ago. To turn areas that routinely flooded and were underutilized into parks, bike trails, ball fields and greenspace. The Big Sioux River meanders its way through the city inviting residents to behold in its beauty, take part in its recreational opportunities and enjoy the serenity of its cool waters. The river comes to a majestic pinnacle as it tumbles down the quartzite stone cutting through Falls Park.
This is the story of the Sioux Falls River Greenway. A Greenway system with close to twenty miles of bike trails that have grown to be a focal point of the city. The dream was first brought to the forefront in the early 1900’s but it took two city employees in the 1970’s to bring it to realization.

Dakota Life Segment Schoenbeck's Golf South Dakota
Lee Shoenbeck and his teenage son Jake took the summer of 2010 to golf all of South Dakota's golf courses. SDPB's Stephanie Rissler had a chance to meet up with this golf duo in Sisseton SD to learn more about this 3 month adventure that taught them both a lot about golf, each other and themselves. This adventure included both private and public courses including courses that many people in the state didn't even know existed. The Schoenbeck's kept the scorecard from every course and have framed a map showcasing the routes they traveled to tackle all of South Dakota's greens.
Mark Twain Lane - Sioux Falls, SD
A Sioux Falls student got to watch as her dream became reality Tuesday morning as the commemorative street signs were created in remembrance of Mark Twain Elementary.
Cassidy Jennings started filling out official paperwork to preserve the memory of the nearly 100-year-old school last month.
Mark Twain Elementary was demolished at the end of May to make way for the newly built Susan B. Anthony elementary school.
Since then, Jennings has testified in front of the Sioux Falls naming committee and the City Council to create “Mark Twain Lane.”
The commemorative street renaming resolution was approved by the City Council on June 16.
The City of Sioux Falls Public Works sign shop invited the Jennings family to come be a part of the sign creation. Public Works showed Cassidy how signs are made and helped her create the “Mark Twain Lane” signs.
“It's really cool and brings back all of the memories I had for Mark Twain and I hope it will for other people too,” Jennings said.
Her mother, Sarah Jennings, says Cassidy has never been a shy kid and really wanted to do something to remember her school.
“It has been a great experience for her to work hard for something she cared about,” Sarah Jennings said.
The commemorative street renaming is for a portion of West 27th Street, between Center and Dakota Avenues, and will be effective July 9, 2015.
