Royal Thai Air Force Museum Bangkok Thailand
Vlog # 213 Date 3.7.19
Today Tim and I drive up and pay a visit to the Royal Thai Air Force museum.
I have been here and vlogged before, but Tim had not so as I like cold war jets and warbirds
I went with him. Free entry and no crowds once again. It was raining but that did not matter and most of the planes are either inside or undercover.
You can get very close to the aircraft here and this time two new aircraft I did not see on my last visit.

Jesada Technik Museum | Review of Thailand's Biggest Classic Car Collection
Jesada Classic Car Museum is one hour west of Bangkok in the city of Nakhon Pathom. There are maybe 200 classic cars on display. Some of them are restored, many are in rough condition, but lots of rare classic cars and a big collection of microcars.

Thailand National Air Museum
A visit to the Royal Thai Air museum.
I didnt expect this display of the Royal Thai Air museum to be this good. I was amazed at the variety of the aircraft from early WWI to post WW2, and onward.
The other thing that was completely unexpected was the fee. It was free! If you have any interest at all in aircraft, even if only a little I recommend a visit. If you feel like you need a change from the markets and temples, put this place on your list.
Royal Thai Air Force Museum Bangkok
Royal Thai Air Force museum at Don Mueang, Bangkok. Great museum with some very rare aircraft. The museum is presently being updated and renovated.
Great for photography as there are not many people there to obstruct your view.
Free entry, 0800 - 1600. Check on their website before you go..
Absolutely superb shop and café. Very cheap caps and souvenirs.
The 1st couple of pictures of the Super Sabre are actually at the nearby Thai Air Force Academy.
Hire yourself a competent taxi driver to get you to the museum. It will take about 50 minutes from the centre of Bangkok.
The skytrain to Don Muaeng airport will not be complete for another year or two and a taxi will still be required as the museum is on the other side of the airport.
I have high resolution pictures of almost all the airframes. Please ask if you would like to use them.
Please don't copy or retransmit any part of this movie without my permission.

Tourism in Bangkok
Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is one of the world's top tourist destination cities. MasterCard ranked Bangkok as the global top destination city by international visitor arrivals in its Global Destination Cities Index, with 15.98 million projected visitors in 2013. It has topped the MasterCard Global Destinations Cities Index as the most visited city in the world in 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017 and 2018.[1][2] The city is ranked fourth in cross-border spending, with 14.3 billion dollars projected for 2013, after New York, London and Paris.[3] Euromonitor International ranked Bangkok sixth in its Top City Destinations Ranking for 2011.[4] Bangkok has also been named World's Best City by Travel + Leisure magazine's survey of its readers for four consecutive years since 2010.[5]
As the principal gateway for arriving visitors, Bangkok is visited by the majority of international tourists to the country. Domestic tourism is also prominent. The Department of Tourism recorded 26,861,095 Thai and 11,361,808 foreign visitors to Bangkok in 2010. Lodgings saw 15,031,244 guests, who occupied 49.9 percent of the city's 86,687 hotel rooms.[6] Chinese visitors spend a lot of money and most goes to retailers in Bangkok. Chinese visitors stayed an average of one week in Thailand, spending US$1,000-1,300 each or US$167 per day each.[7]
Bangkok's sights, attractions, and city life appeal to diverse groups of tourists. Royal palaces and temples as well as museums constitute its major historical and cultural tourist attractions. Shopping and dining experiences offer a range of choices and prices. The city is also famous for its nightlife. Although Bangkok's reputation for sex tourism is well established, it is downplayed by the government.
Palaces and wats
Bangkok, the centre of the Bangkok Metropolitan Area, has been the capital of Thailand since 1782, when the seat of government was moved across the Chao Phraya River from the Thonburi (west bank) side of the river. There are many palaces in the city, some still used by the Thai royal family, while others are now open to the public. A number have become government or academic buildings as well as museums. The king's official residence is the Grand Palace, which has housed Thailand's monarchs for over 200 years. Before the 1932 Revolution ended absolute monarchy, the complex was the home of Thai government: it included royal courts and administrative branches, similar to the earlier capital at Ayutthaya. It houses Chakri Mahaprasat Hall and Wat Phra Kaew, which contains the Emerald Buddha, considered the most important temple in Thailand. However, the more modern Chitralada Palace is the actual Bangkok residence of the reigning monarch, King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX), and his Queen Sirikit.
Of the hundreds of Buddhist temples (or wats) in Bangkok, only a few are of much interest to tourists. When King Taksin led his troops out of Ayutthaya and into Thonburi in 1767 CE, they took refuge in Wat Arun. The most prominent feature is a tall chedi built in the 1820s that stands 85 meters (279 ft). It was tallest structure in Bangkok until modern skyscrapers were built a few decades ago.[when?]
Wat Pho, also known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha or Wat Phra Chetuphon, is south of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the Grand Palace. It is Bangkok's largest temple and contains a huge reclining Buddha figure that is 46 metres (151 ft) long and is covered with gold leaf. The feet alone are 3 metres (10 ft) in size.

ICON SIAM - BANGKOK’S NEW LUXURY SHOPPING MALL | A Grand Opening Exclusive Inside Look (Full Tour)
Icon Siam (Iconsiam) is Bangkok’s newest luxury shopping mall that sits on the famous Chao Phraya River. This is an exclusive grand opening inside look of this new iconic shopping mall in Bangkok, Thailand.
Make no mistakes, this is not your standard shopping mall like MBK. Icon Siam is a luxury mall, with name brands stores in every corner. Even a non-luxury brand feels and looks luxurious in this mall.
I guess that is the standard if you want to place your brand in this store. It doesn’t look like they accept anything less than 5 star standards.Icon Siam feels, very grand and expensive. The layout is very plain and open.
There is only one structure in the mall which doubles as a small stage and lots of art sculptures placed all around the mall. I guess they were going for the simplicity feel.
But all that goes out the window when you head downstairs to the food area, which almost feels as though you are at a floating market. It is a cool little food area. You definitely get a sense of the Thai culture down there.
Icon Siam is not fully complete. The are some sections in the food area and all around the shopping mall that are still under construction and blocked off. Most noticeably is levels 6, 7 & 8. Which will be opening next month and next year (ref. to the schedule below).
Lastly, the restrooms! The restrooms were very luxurious and clean. It wasn’t as interesting as the restrooms at Terminal 21 in Pattaya, but these restrooms were not left of the drawing board. They all feel luxurious, which fits the whole theme and feel of the mall.
Icon Siam Opens Daily: 10:00AM- 10:00PM

Royal Thai Airforce Museum
This video is about Royal Thai Airforce Museum in Bangkok, Thailand. The museum has about 100 mostly military aircraft including 3 American built fighter planes that are the last remaining examples in the world:
1937 Curtiss Hawk 75
1934 Vought V-93S/SA Corsair
1935 Curtiss Hawk III
Both Hawks are WW2 combat veterans.
The museum is free and is open daily from 9am to 4pm. There are usually very people visiting the museum, so it's easy to get around.
It is located at Don Meuang airport in Bangkok, which is about a 30 minute taxi ride from central Bangkok. Next year the Skytrain will open making access easier, although the train station is on the opposite side of the airport making a short taxi ride necessary. Taxis are cheap and plentiful in Bangkok.
For those of you interested in more details of the Curtiss Hawks and Vought Corsair I will be making additional videos soon about each of these aircraft and their histories. So, check back under my YouTube channel (Greg Otterson) or subscribe.
For more information on the Curtiss Hawk 75, please see the following link to the Warbird Forum Website and Richard L. Dunn's 2008 article.
While there, take some time to explore the rest of Dan Ford's Warbird forum website. He has a lot of great information about warbird history.

Bangkok (English pronunciation: /ˈbæŋkɒk/[5]) is the capital and the most populous city of Thailand. It is known in Thai as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon (กรุงเทพมหานคร, pronounced [krūŋ tʰêːp mahǎː nákʰɔ̄ːn] ( listen)) or simply About this sound Krung Thep (help·info). The city occupies 1,568.7 square kilometres (605.7 sq mi) in the Chao Phraya River delta in Central Thailand, and has a population of over 8 million, or 12.6 percent of the country's population. Over 14 million people (22.2 percent) live within the surrounding Bangkok Metropolitan Region, making Bangkok an extreme primate city, dwarfing Thailand's other urban centres in terms of importance.
