We Are SlutTalk
I’m a slut. You’re a slut. We are SlutTalk.
If you grew up as a girl in America you’ve probably been called a slut...or called someone a slut. Who are you kidding - it was probably both. SlutTalk is collective dialogue that seeks to destigmatize the word slut and encourage sex positivity through performances, workshops, and social media.
Hosted by Chicago City Colleges professor and feminist performer Alicia Swiz, each SlutTalk performance features a dynamic line-up of female stand-ups and storytellers sharing their personal experiences with slut shaming, body politics, and sexual identity.
You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. You might even learn something.

Saul Levmore, Is Law a Force for Good, or a Source of Trouble?
One of the great Chicago Ideas of the last hundred years is the insight, or warning, that lawmaking can be captured by selfish players. It would be nice if law always made the planet a better place, but in fact law can ruin lives and civilizations. A well-run legal system can improve the world it governs, but a very similar system can instead do more harm than good. In turn, people develop political tastes and impressions about the proper role of law. Some are quick to want legal solutions to problems, while others are inclined to be suspicious of new law or more law. A central aim of a good law school education is to learn to distinguish between legal rules and methods that are likely to do good and those more likely to be costly, annoying, or even disastrous.
Law often does good work by knowing when to constrain (or empower) private actors. This inaugural (2017-18) “Chicago’s Best Ideas” luncheon, will begin with unremarkable ways that law controls overreaching private enterprises. It then moves to harder questions, like the conflict between taxi companies and Uber, or the performance of private universities (or healthcare systems) as compared to public one. The goal is to develop a sophisticated understanding of law’s capacity to do good, and to raise one of the most important questions for new lawyers—how do we assess law itself?
Chicago’s Best Ideas, a lecture series begun in honor of the University of Chicago Law School’s Centennial, highlights the intellectual innovations of the school’s distinguished faculty. Presented on October 10, 2017.

I have gone through speech therapy my entire life. I have also been teased about a speech impediment my entire life. No one could convince me to open up and really work on my voice, until I met Amy. She creates a very inviting and encouraging environment. Working on a downfall is such a venerable time but with Amy, I was always eager to receive feedback from her. Bo Roberts Model, Actor

Open Mics in Chicago - A Monday night with a comic doing new material at 4 mics.
Have you wondered what the life of a person is like who is pursuing their dream of comedy? This is how it looks, except I did everyone a favor by editing out the amount of time I had to wait to get on stage in this one night as well as move all over the city so you get to see it in a short amount of time!
I wrote new material on Monday and then went to 4 open mics to try it all out. As you will see it is a process and I have a long way to go to continue to refine it.
The final show of the night made it all worth while and measured me that I have something great and to keep going with it!

The Master Key System by Charles Haanel

The Master Key System is a personal development book by Charles F. Haanel that was originally published as a 24-week correspondence course in 1912. It was later published in book form in 1916 by Psychology Publishing, St. Louis and The Master Key Institute, New York.
The course is a practical wrapper for the seven hermetic principles as laid out in the Kybalion. Each chapter contains a sequentially numbered section to read, which includes an exercise towards the end, followed by a section with questions and answers.
Along with The Science of Getting Rich, by Wallace D. Wattles, the Master Key System is the source of Rhonda Byrne's inspiration for the book and the film The Secret (2006).
Haanel's reasoning was that thought being energy, and concentrated thought being concentrated energy, concentration would be the key to impact on the subconscious mind, thus aligning the Finite (conscious) with the Infinite (subconscious). This way Haanel created a scientific method for creating (not only) material things through the power of creative visualisation, while placing large emphasis on morality, physical and spiritual cleanliness.
Students reading the Master Key System are therefore advised to practice the exercises until full mastery has been accomplished. It's only through the exercises that new skills are obtained, and therefore an ability to effect changes in one's life.
Charles F. Haanel was an American author, millionaire, entrepreneur, and businessman who belonged to the Masonic society, Keystone Lodge No. 243, A.F. & A.M., the American Scientific League, The Author’s League of America, The American Society of Psychical Research, the St. Louis Humane Society, and the St. Louis Chamber of Commerce.
Works By Charles F. Haanel include:
Mental Chemistry
The New Psychology
A book about You
The Amazing Secrets of the Yogi
