Welcome to the Avenue Cookery School.
“Possibly the most fun cookery school in London”
Established in 2004, The Avenue London Cookery School – now a family run school – thrives on all things foodie and incorporates love and enthusiasm into carefully structured courses.
The point is to teach our students of all ages and levels to understand food. It’s time to
move away from cookbook dependency and start treating recipes as sources of inspiration and guidance.
We offer anything from 3-hour evening classes to 2-week Chalet Host courses – as well as anything bespoke for those special occasions!
Individually, and as a team, we have years of experience; discovered skills and
handy tips to share with those who want to come and join our kitchen adventures.

The Avenue Cookery School
We are an independent, family-run cookery school, based in Wandsworth, South West London. We thrive on all things foodie and incorporate that love and enthusiasm into our carefully structured courses.
Individually, and as a team, we have years of experience. Our passion for teaching others to cook shines through in our relaxed and fun classes, and you’ll feel at-home as soon as you walk through our doors. We don't teach from a cook-book, so you'll gain a real understanding of food, rather than blindly following a recipe
Our courses vary from one and two-week Chalet Host classes, day long Pasta and Vegetarian and Singles Evening Classes to anything bespoke for those special occasions.

BEST AFRICAN AND CARIBBEAN COOKING- CREATING A TASTE FOR LIFE
Hello, I’m Rebecca and Welcome to my food channel AfricanPot
Creating a taste for life
I am a Practicing medical doctor
• A Privileged mother of four
• A Cookbook-collector, loves to dance, listen to music and Travel
• A recipe creator and developer, inventing new dishes
• The person that likes to put a spin to an old favourite while preserving the unique taste
• That person with unquenchable passion for cooking for which I am extremely thankful
My love for cooking spans over fifty years when from a tender age of eight I was so eager to help in the kitchen. Fifty years on I am still so eager to help family, friends and colleagues to cook for their celebrations.
Being a professional with a busy life style, it sometimes means that I did not have time to cook some of these delicious meals that takes long to make in the traditional way. I have therefore alongside the tradition ways, developed over the years creative and innovative ways of making these great meals quick, easy and tasty. I also developed ways in using the traditional ingredients as well as modern kitchen gadgets in creating new recipes. I hope to share these secrets with you.
Through this avenue, I hope to be able to show that no matter your lifestyle, be it a busy Mum, professional, entrepreneur and whatever it may be, you can enjoy good fresh exotic meals made quick and easy in your own Kitchen. I will share recipes from the African countries as Nigeria cuisine, Ghana, Senegal, Ethiopia, South African cuisine, Benin, Congo
Caribbean cuisines-of tropical beaches as Tobago, Authentic Jamaica food, Trinidad Dominica republic, west -Indian cuisine, Barbados
I will show how to make cuisines like Nigerian Jollof rice, Goat meat, Nigerian Puff puff, Egusi soup. Nigerian Fried rice, pepper soup pounded yam such as tried by FUNG BROS FOOD: African Street foods are great such as Nigerian street foods. Chin-chin, Plantain chips, South African Biltong, Ethiopian Injera Bread, Ghana bread, Fufu and more. Lagos Nigeria street foods are so great that even the Nollywood movie starts are well into it. We will be giving you a taste of that in this channel
Traditional Caribbean recipies such as Peppersauce (hot sauce) authentic real Jamaican jerk chicken, Rice and peas, Goat curry stew, Brown stew recipe.-Eating Jamaican food for the first time you have come to the right place. Can Jamaican Food Be Cooked Fresh? – yes- as proven by Gordon Ramsay in kitchen nightmares
We also do recipes for vegetarians and gluten free dishes.
We will share where African and Caribbean groceries stores are so you can buy your ingredients
African and Caribbean cuisines are as tantalizing and nutritious as foods from anywhere else in the world. The cuisines are vibrantly colourful, bold, rich, full of flavour and very tasty. Even the Mukbangs are eating African food
As beautiful as African and Caribbean food is, the methodological steps to transform it from market to table can be quite tedious and strenuous. Therefore, I aim to simplify these steps and method, in so doing easing the burden of cooking.
My cooking style is for home style cooking
The recipes I make are not limited to the tropics. Having lived in the United Kingdom for over twenty-five years I have developed the act of food fusion- fusing African and Caribbean recipes with European recipes and recipes from other countries. I enjoy eating and cooking food representing other countries depending on my mood craving of the month. I will also share with you some fusion food recipes.
I hope teach African cooking classes. My hope is that more importantly, from the recipes and ideas I share, you will be made hungry enough to lead you straight into the kitchen – and please keep in touch.
Thanks for letting me share my passion with you. Please remember to like, subscribe and share. I look forward to hearing from you with any comments, questions or requests you may have. Preferably you can email me directly at contact@africanpot.com.
Please give us thumbs up, share and subscribe to get my new videos. Visit AfricanPot.com for more information.

BILLY Connolly is a Scottish comedian, who has been an icon of British popular culture for more than 50 years. He was knighted just weeks ahead his 75th birthday - here's the lowdown on the Glasgow-born star.William Billy Connolly, CBE was born on 24 November 1942 and is a Scottish comedian, musician and actor. He is sometimes known, especially in his native Scotland, by the nickname The Big Yin, meaning The Big One.His first trade, in the early 1960s, was as a welder in the Glasgow shipyards, but he gave it up towards the end of the decade to pursue a career as a folk singer, firstly in the Humblebums alongside friend Gerry Rafferty until 1971, and subsequently as a solo artist. In the early 1970s he made the transition from folk- singer with a comedic persona to fully fledged comedian and actor.Billy is best known as a stand-up comedian. His observational comedy is “idiosyncratic” and often “off-the-cuff”.Over the years he has offended some audiences, critics and the media with his free use of the word f*** and he his choice of topics In 2007 and again in 2010, he was voted the greatest stand-up comic on Channel 4's 100 Greatest Stand-Ups.Since the 80s Billy has carved a career for himself as an actor. He has appeared in such films including Indecent Proposal (1993), Pocahontas (1995), Muppet Treasure Island (1996), The Last Samurai (2003), Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events More recently he starred in What We Did On Our Holiday, alongside David Tennant and Rosamund Pike.In 2012 Billy was diagnosed with Parkinson's and Prostate Cancer on the same day. However, Billy has said the double-diagnosis has not dented his good humour. He recently said: Aye, it just happened.I think they're very closely related, deep despair and laughing. And I wasn't in any pain. Describing the moment he was told he had cancer, Billy added: When he said 'First of all, you're not gonna die,' I was shocked.I said, 'Of course I'm not going to f******die.'It never crossed my mind.It was all very business-like. Speaking about his Parkinson’s he recently said: It's managing me.It's kind of weird. It creeps along, it's the first thing I think about in the morning, so I try to make the second thing I think about more interesting. Billy has been married to his second wife, comedian and psychologist Pamela Stephenson, since 1989.He is father to five children – two, Jamie and Cara, from his first marriage, to Iris Pressagh, and three, Scarlett, Amy and Daisy, with Pamela.Billy and Pamela won custody of Jamie and Cara in 1983.The three portraits became giant murals - each of which are more than 50ft high - and were painted onto the sides of buildings in his native Glasgow. When he saw them Billy said: I'm truly amazed at the effect these have had on me.They've just completely stunned me. I thought I'd be all light-hearted on seeing them and jokey - but they're so big - the effect on me is so profound. You know, people going to that length for me, it's just tak
