Aviation requires money. It is an expensive military expenditure. Today, many countries are having economic problems, and Romania is no exception. Technology has progressed considerably, and so the planes are increasingly expensive. During Communism, Romania was part of Warsaw Pact countries.

LEADIN
April 12 is international day of Aviation and Cosmonautics which is celebrated in Russia and some other former USSR countries including Romania.
It celebrates Yuri Gargain's first flight into space on April 12, 1961.
To mark the occasion Romania's National Flight Museum has been celebrating other great aviation successes.
STORYLINE:
These classic planes are staying firmly grounded on national aviation day.
Romania's National Flight Museum takes its visitors back in time to the days of Communism.
Much of the aviation history of Romania, a NATO member since 2004, seems to be borrowed from the country's past ties with the Soviet Union.
After World War II, the Romanian air industry and the country started to import airplanes from the Soviet Union explains Sorin Turturica, curator of the Romanian National Flight Museum.
(Romania) started to import airplanes from the Soviet Union. They were very good planes for those times. We now don't have the same calibre of planes as our neighbours as we did back then. We used to have MiG15. When Romania had those, the MiG 15 was fighting in the Korean (war).
During the Communist era Romania was a member of the former Warsaw Pact and one of the countries which received significant military supplies from the former Soviet Union.
Romania was constantly ready for war. Even if undeclared, the Cold War was a real state or a preparation for war. Large investments were made back then in the military, says Turturica.
Today, Romania's military spending budget is considerably less says Turturica.

SOT, George Epurescu, organiser of rally (speaking Romanian): We demand to the executive branch and to the legislative branch that they listen to the voice of the citizens and that they act in defence of the interest of the people and not in the interest of illegitimate groups. We demand that fracking be banned by law, for the exploring and the exploitation of non-conventional fuels, including shale gas. We demand the cancellation of the government decisions that have illegally approved the agreements to explore and to exploit of shale gas reserves. We demand that the will of the local communities be respected and that the decision-making process be made transparent. We demand the lifting of the special security status in the village of Pungesti, Vaslui County, and that the law enforcement troops be made to serve the people, not a foreign corporation.

SCRIPT
Nearly 300 people gathered Sunday in Bucharest's University Square, protesting against energy giant Chevron's beginning operation of its first shale gas drill in Pungesti. Several NGOs issued a proclamation demanding that shale gas mining be banned in Romania, and that the contracts awarded by the Romanian government to the U.S. corporation be declassified.
Attendants also protested against Russia company Gazprom's alleged involvement in land leases in western Romania, as well as Exxon's prospective plans in the Romanian continental shelf in the Black Sea.
Chevron is planning a media field day Tuesday at its site in Pungesti, where it will begin operation of the first shale gas drill in Romania. Environmentalists have opposed the Chevron plan, but the cabinet of Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta supports it, saying it will ensure Romania's energy independence from Russia.

WE SHOULD NOT HAVE GONE TO HOIA BACIU (MOST HAUNTED FOREST)
⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️MERCHHERE⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ ewfofficial.com
The Hoia-Baciu Forest ( World’s Most Haunted Forest ) is situated near Cluj-Napoca, Romania covers an area of over 250 hectares and is often referred to as the Bermuda Triangle of the country. Hoia Baciu Forest ( World’s Most Haunted Forest ), has a reputation for intense paranormal activity and unexplained events. Reports have included, ghost sightings, unexplained apparitions, faces appearing in photographs that were not visible with the naked eye, and in the 1970s, UFO sightings were reported.
Visitors to the forest often report intense feelings of anxiety and the feeling of being constantly watched. Moreover, the local vegetation is somehow bizarre in appearance, like something out of a make-believe story with strangely shaped trees, and unexplained charring on tree stumps and branches.
The forest was named after a shepherd that disappeared in the area with a flock of two hundred sheep. Most people who live near the forest are afraid to enter it due to the stories and legends that have been handed down. They believe that those who visit the site will never return back home. Many of the locals who have been brave enough to venture into the forest complained of physical harm, including rashes, nausea, vomiting, migraines, burns, scratches, anxiety, and other unusual sensations.
This dense forest first gained notoriety in the late 1960s when a biologist named Alexandru Sift snapped several amazing photos of a flying disc-shaped object in the sky above the forest. On August 18, 1968, a military technician named Emil Barnea captured a famous photography of a saucer flying over the Hoia-Baciu Forest ( World’s Most Haunted Forest ) . The, in the 1970s, the area was a hotbed for UFO sighting and unexplained lights.
People who have entered the forest to this day get inexplicable rashes or they begin to feel very light-headed and ill. Moreover, the electronic devices are known to malfunction when introduced into the area. Some paranormal investigators have associated these strange malfunctions with supernatural activity.
The Hoia-Baciu Forest ( World’s Most Haunted Forest ) has a reputation for paranormal and unexplained activity and people have witnessed numerous strange events on the land. The most common phenomenon includes the sudden appearance of mysterious orbs of light. People also report hearing disembodied female voices breaking the heavy silence, giggling and even apparitions, Thereare many cases of people reportedly being scratched. All these things happen with no reasonable explanation.
Some people believe that the forest is a gateway to another dimension. Within the dark interior of Hoia-Baciu Forest ( World’s Most Haunted Forest ) , people have been known to disappear, strange lights have been seen, the wind seems to speak,. Several stories tell of people entering the forest and experiencing missing time. Some have known to be missing for quite some time with no recollection of how they had spent that time. One such story focuses on a 5-year-old girl who wandered into the woods and got lost. The story goes that she emerged from the forest 5 years later, wearing the same untarnished clothes that she wore on the day she disappeared with no memory of where had happened in that interval of time.

Draganu Horseshoe, Romania
Join ShortCut and RidgeRoute on their hike around the Draganu Horseshoe, Romania on Sep 10, 2019.
The morning after we climbed Mt. Omu we planned to tour Bran Castle, but it turned out that the castle was closed on Monday mornings and didn't open until noon. We didn’t want to hang around waiting for it to open, because we also wanted to explore Brașov, so we took the bus back to Brașov and spent most of the day walking around the city. We went on a self-guided walking tour of Brașov city center, before taking a train to Sinaia.
During the train ride, I mapped out a loop hike that climbed up onto, and then along, a ridge east of Sinaia. We strongly favor day-hiking loops as opposed to out-and-back hikes. Another advantage of this hike was that we could walk the entire loop out of the door of the place where we were staying. What I hadn't appreciated was that Sinaia lay in a deep valley and the place I'd booked was over 200 stairs up a steep hillside on the west side of this valley. This hike, however, was on the east side of the valley so Shorty complained about all the extra elevation gain.
The problem with doing exploratory loop day hikes is that you might encounter unexpected difficulty. You never know when you've reached the halfway point, time-wise, so you can never be certain you'll make it back before dark. The descent, on this particular hike, was a lot easier than the ascent so it worked out very well.
Draganu Horseshoe is my made-up name for this hike. I didn't find this hike described elsewhere. I thought it looked as though it would be a good loop; something to keep us busy for the whole day.
The tracks for this hike can be downloaded from the links below:

KML:
The morning after the hike we walked around the grounds of Peleș Castle, Pelișor Castle and the Foișor Hunting Lodge, that were built for King Carol I of Romania (1839–1914), before taking a train back to Bucharest.

This was a fun one. Flying back to Bucharest I show you the best and cheapest option to get from OTP airport to the city of Bucharest. Take the BUS Line 780 or 783 from the Airport Otopeni Henri Coanda, the bus stop is downstairs, in front of Arrivals Entrance (from International Arrivals, take the stairs, follow the signs to get to Arrivals and then exit) just follow the yellow Bus signs. There is a kiosk/ machine or walk outside where the buses are turn right and you will see a booth with two people where you can buy tickets, the driver don't sell tickets, the price is 8 lei.
Line 783 connects the OTP Airport with Central Bucharest via the following stops:
Airport Henri Coanda Arrivals, Airport Henri Coanda Departure, ICSITMUA, Otopeni City Hall (Primaria Otopeni), AMCO, CFR Passage (Pasaj CFR), Privighetorilor Alley (Aleea Privighetorilor), Metheorogical Institute (Institutul Meteorologic), Baneasa Airport, Baneasa Bridge (Pod Baneasa), Press House(Triumph Arch - Casa Presei), Docentilor, Victory Square (Piata Victoriei), Romana Square (Piata Romana), 21 December Square, Universitate (Piata 21 Decembrie), Unirii Square 1 (Piata Unirii 1), Unirii Square 2 (Piata Unirii 2), service ends here.
At Victory Square (Piata Victoriei), Romana Square (Piata Romana), 21 December Square (Piata 21 Decembrie), Unirii Square 1 (Piata Unirii 1) and Unirii Square 2 you have easy access to Subway (Metrou).
If you need to go to the train station Gara de Noord you can take the 780 bus.
Line 780 is a daily service, 5:20 AM - 11 PM, departing from the Airport every 35 - 40 min, a single journey takes 40 - 60 min, depending on the traffic. The pick-up point from the Airport is the Arrivals Terminal bus stop, at the doors, where also tickets can be purchased from the ticket booth or from the ticket machine.
Prices and card options are the same as the Express 783 above (cost is 7- 8.6 lei).
Now that you are in the city you can hop on one of the many Limes that are covering the city now if you have WiFi and the app on your phone. Head to Old Town to listen to some live music, get some food or a coffee.
Then I head back to Tunes Pub karaoke bar for their Birthday party/anniversary of opening.
Enjoy :)

I have been lucky enough to travel to 20 countries and hope to travel to more. The most life changing trip I experienced was in 2015.
I left Washington D.C. after battling depression that almost killed me after my Brazilian ex-gf who I was planning to propose to on Valentine’s Day broke up with me 2 days before it and realizing that there literally was NO ONE there for me that cared enough to help me deal with it.
After 2 years of downword spiral and depression, becoming a workaholic I sold the ring, and with a backpack bought a one-way ticket to Europe. I traveled from Romania across Europe to London and along the way ended up being one block away from the terrorist attacks in Paris, France on Friday the 13th of November, 2015.
In fact I didn’t realize what the loud explosion I heard was at the time but it was the one outside the Stadium in the distance….
It was in many ways a wake-up call to enjoy life because you never know when this stage of our souls will end and the next will begin.
I have had a TON of different jobs in my life: massage therapist, sales, manager, cook, custom t-shirt printing, a physical therapy aide, a DJ, bass player, video/photo editor, photographer, scout, coach, teacher, investor and more. I never want to stop learning new skills and improving myself. I made a goal to try to learn something new every day.
Currently I don’t call anywhere home, where I lay my head is home…
Join me on this journey as I travel and please like, comment and subscribe.
I love my subscribers; stay tuned for give-a-ways and contests for my loyal fans :) If you have any questions on anything, for collaborations or just to say hey, free to contact me.

Animated drawing of Piata Romana(Bucharest, Romania)
This is another primitive animation I made, the back ground is better detailed than the animation itself. Of an Area in Bucharest(Bucuresti) Romania.
I abandoned this project also, because of lack of inspiration, and break in the relationship. Been sitting on one of my flash drives for some years. It was originally made to be seen.
My apologizes that the story is unfinished in being told/explained.
The woman's name is Aurelia. 33yrs old in the time frame of the video. Was like love, not at very first sight, but within minutes of knowing each other.
The truth is, we couldn't communicate. She did not know English at all. And me, I didn't, and admittingly still don't know enough of the Romanian Language to have a full conversation.
At the moments where the characters disappear, we were trying to light a cigarette, against a small wind.
From there, we both only finished half our cigarettes, a little frustrated that we couldn't communicate what we were thinking or feeling In words. Still looking each other both in the eyes, just gazing at one another in awe. She reached for my hand. Taking a few steps and pulling me to walking beside her.
We then slowly strolled 10 or so meters, struggling in our minds, what to do, how to talk? It then dawned on me, there is an internet café right there in Piata Romana. I said to her, we can go use translate on the computer.
Which we did, we both sat there, using translate to each other our fascination with each other, for about 5 minutes. Chairs next to each other, she laid in my right arm, and her head on my shoulder.
Looking up at me. We mutually moved our lips closer together. Kissing ever so gently. Continuing the to kiss for moments longer, I believe we both felt as have found heaven of love, on earth.
The look in her eyes said it the most.
Chatting more, using the translate program we discussed not a whole lot, but we would like us to be together. And it might take some time before we could be together always.
We then both agreed to go outside to have a cigarette. We then both only took a couple drags each. Threw the cigarettes away, and embraced each other madly, just kissing each other like there was no tomorrow. Which Technically, there wasn't, because my plane would leave less than 8hrs later, to take me home.
As we started kissing, a step out, from under the internet café door awning.. The heavens opened up, and started pouring rain.
Neither of us cared, it made it all the more romantic, we stood there for a good 10 minutes just embracing and caressing each other, kissing each other's necks, ears, all over each other's face, and lips, still with us being drenched by the rain. It was one of the time in my life that made me feel so alive.
We then chatted while still in each other's arms. Her telling me that she likes Michael Jackson's music. Asking if I liked it.
Kissing more, the rain then calmed a bit, but not completely stopped. We then walked around the block, around front of a corner market that was closed for the night. We sat down under covered sidewalk to the front of the building, on the base fixtures. Holding each other, cooing and kissing for what seemed to be timeless. In actuality I think was for another hour. And from there, that is all I will tell. ;)
In conclusion, the time and distance apart, didn't help much. But the over-all cause of the end of the relationship, which actually never really got a chance to start, was.. both of our inability to communicate to each other over the internet, because of the fallibilities of the translate program. To much misunderstanding. Causing frustration on arguments.
