Places to see in ( Chicago - USA ) The Chicago Theatre
The Chicago Theatre, originally known as the Balaban and Katz Chicago Theatre, is a landmark theater located on North State Street in the Loop area of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. Built in 1921, the Chicago Theatre was the flagship for the Balaban and Katz (B&K) group of theaters run by A. J. Balaban, his brother Barney Balaban and partner Sam Katz.
Along with the other B&K theaters, from 1925 to 1945 the Chicago Theatre was a dominant movie theater enterprise. Currently, Madison Square Garden, Inc. owns and operates the Chicago Theatre as a performing arts venue for stage plays, magic shows, comedy, speeches, and popular music concerts.
The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places June 6, 1979, and was listed as a Chicago Landmark January 28, 1983. The distinctive Chicago Theatre marquee, an unofficial emblem of the city, appears frequently in film, television, artwork, and photography.
The structure is seven stories tall and fills nearly one half of a city block. The 60-foot (18 m) wide by six-story tall triumphal arch motif of the State Street façade has been journalistically compared to the l'Arc de Triomphe in Paris. The central arch-headed window adapts the familiar motif of Borromini's false-perspective window reveals of the top floor of Palazzo Barberini, Rome. The coat of arms of the Balaban and Katz chain—two horses holding ribbons of 35 mm film in their mouths outlined by a border of film reels—is set inside a circular Tiffany stained glass window inside the arch.
The theatre is also known for its grand Wurlitzer pipe organ. At the time it was installed it was known as “The Mighty Wurlitzer” and could imitate the instruments of an orchestra. Jesse Crawford, a noted Theatre Organ performer, is attributed as the person who was responsible for the design and choice of sounds. The organ came from Wurlitzer's North Tonawanda Barrel Organ Factory in July 1921 with four manuals and 26 ranks of pipes-Opus 434. The American Theatre Organ Society restored the organ in 1970, which had expanded the organ from 26 to 29 ranks by that time. It is one of the oldest Mighty Wurlitzers still in existence.

The Chicago Railroad Fair was an event organized to celebrate and commemorate 100 years of railroad history west of Chicago, Illinois. It was held in Chicago in 1948 and 1949 along the shore of Lake Michigan, and is often referred to as the last great railroad fair with 39 railroad companies participating. The board of directors for the show was a veritable Who's Who of railroad company executives.
The origin of the fair traces back to the Chicago and North Western Railway (CNW), which at the time was the successor of the first railroad to operate out of Chicago, the Galena and Chicago Union Railroad. CNW was seeking a way to commemorate 100 years of railroading in Chicago, especially as it was done on the CNW itself. Public Relations Manager F.V. Koval is credited with developing the idea behind the fair. The CNW advertising and public relation staff went to work to promote the show in the early months of 1948, beginning with a series of photographs made by company photographer Don Lidikay of people in 19th century costumes posing with the locomotive Pioneer, which had pulled the first train out of Chicago in 1848.
The fair was rapidly planned during the winter and spring of 1948, and originally scheduled to run between July and August of that summer. Erected on 50 acres of Burnham Park in Chicago between 21st and 31st Streets, the fair opened after only six months of planning. A grand opening for the fair commenced on July 20 with a parade that featured such spectacles as a military marching band and a replica of a troop train, a contingent of cowboys and Native Americans, a replica of the Tom Thumb, the first American locomotive, and the spry, octogenarian widow of Casey Jones, who served as honorary Grand Master of the parade. One dollar was the price of admission, and, except food, all the attractions, displays, exhibits and shows were free. Besides the thirty-nine railroads who participated in the fair, there were more than twenty equipment manufacturers, including General Motors.
A highlight of the fair was the presence of the of the Freedom Train. The Freedom Train traveled the country from September 17, 1947 through Jan 22, 1949 and was at the Railroad Fair from July 5 -- 9. It held many documents and artifacts from the National Archives. Available for public viewing were the original United States Constitution, Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. Security of the documents was the responsibility of the Marine Corps.
Thirty eight railroads and more than twenty railroad equipment manufacturers participated in the Chicago Railroad Fair exhibiting equipment and interpretive displays around the fair's theme of 100 years of railroad history. The majority of the participating railroads maintained a direct rail connection to Chicago.

Coronavirus Sickens The US Market
Hello traders everywhere. The stock market gave back early Friday morning gains after the second U.S. case of the deadly coronavirus was confirmed. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said a Chicago resident who traveled to Wuhan, the Chinese city where the coronavirus originated, in December was diagnosed with the sickness. So far, the outbreak in China killed 26 people and infected more than 900 in the past week, raising concerns about its fallout on the global economy.
That report pushed the DOW was down over -175 points, the S&P 500 slid -08% and the NASDAQ fell -.75% on the day. Overall for the week, the DOW is on pace to lose -.8%, it's the first weekly loss in two weeks. The S&P 500 will also post its first loss in two weeks, with a loss of -.5%. However, the bigger shock to the system is that the NASDAQ will post a weekly loss of -.1% its first weekly loss in over six weeks.
Crude oil continues to under heavy pressure from rising inventories and weakening demand. Crude will post it's third straight week of losses with a loss of -7.9% trading below $54 a barrel. The EIA itself earlier this week said it expected crude oil production in the shale patch to continue increasing, adding 22,000 bpd next month to reach a total of 9.2 million bpd. The increase will come from the Permian and the Bakken, which will together add 50,000 bpd to their daily average, more than offsetting declines across the rest of the shale patch.
You would think that news of a coronavirus outbreak would be just the event that gold bugs love, but gold will end the week up +.9% a somewhat muted move. However, sentiment in the marketplace is still significantly bullish among both Main Street investors and Wall Street analysts. Look for gold to make a move higher is the coronavirus outbreak continues to strengthen.
The U.S. Dollar finally broke above $97.65, triggering a new green weekly Trade Triangle, indicating that it is now in a sidelines mode. The dollar will post a modest gain of .+3%, but that marks it's third straight week of gains.
Bitcoin will suffer a weekly loss of -7.5% marking it's first weekly loss in over five weeks as the bullish momentum stalled-out right at the 200-day moving average. That is now the level of resistance, which stands at $9,046.
Key Levels To Next Week:

The Long Story
Brothers Jim and Jason Ebel had spent time as ex-pats in Europe and learned the diversity and culture of European beers. Upon returning their options in flavor oriented craft beers was virtually non-existent, so Jim began homebrewing to replicate the beer styles he had come to love. He shared some of his brews with Jason and they decided to brew a batch together. This was the catalyst for Jason to start brewing. In 1992 the brothers opened a home beer and wine making store called The Brewer's Coop in Naperville. In the coming years, much of their time together, Jim and Jason did little except talk of beer and brewing.
During this time, Jim was accepted to DePaul University's College of Law and Jason moved to Colorado to start his professional brewing career in Denver. Jim continued to run The Brewer's Coop with the help of his family. As The Brewer's Coop got busier, Jason moved back to Chicago to help at the store and began brewing at a local brewpub.
It didn't take long for them to begin dreaming of running their own brewery. After a while, the constant talk of having a brewery started to get on their family's nerves. One night as the extended family got together for Sunday dinner and the talk inevitably began about beer, their mother said you guys either need to open a brewery or shut-up about it 'cause you're driving me crazy. The brothers could only assume that was the family blessing, so planning started for Two Brothers Brewing Company. Initially the thought was to open a brewpub, but with little financing and no knowledge of restaurant management, they decided on a production brewery.
As planning began, Jason started his brewing studies at the Siebel Institute of Technology. As the planning proceeded, Jim graduated from Law School and Jason received his diploma in Brewing and Fermentation Sciences. With Jim's knowledge of the Law and running a business and Jason's expertise in brewing, they finalized the business plan in early 1996. Armed with desire, determination and the plan, they set-out to find financing. After months of bank interviews and hounding every family member they could think of, they had the modest budget they need to begin their adventure.
The original brewery was designed around the brewhouse, a 15 barrel system produced in Vancouver and designed by Jason based on the traditional 3-vessel brewhouses of Germany. Jim and Jason were both passionate about Hefeweizen style beers, and the brewery's design was intended to aid in the brewing of this world class beer. The rest of the brewery equipment was mostly donated! The Ebel brother's grandfather, a retired dairy farmer, donated his bulk milk tanks, which were quickly converted to fermenters. The aging tanks were dairy cream tanks. Two Brothers Brewing Company sold its first keg in March of 1997. They started as a draft-only brewery, lacking the funding to install a bottling line.
All that changed in 1998 when they installed their first bottling line, an 8-head bottling line which had a capacity of about 16 bottles per minute. Due to increased sales and demand, Two Brothers replaced their 8 head bottle filler in 2003, with a state of the art 20 head machine that has a capacity of 150 bottles per minute. In November of 2007 Two Brothers moved into a new 40,000 square foot facility. When they moved, they took the opportunity to install a new 50 barrel brewing system and added 3000 barrels of fermentation space. By April of 2008, they had reached capacity in the new brewery and went through another expansion. These expansions seem to be ongoing endeavors, with the brothers adding fermentation capacity every year. 2013 included more big expansions, including the installation of a new 48-head bottle filler capable of filling 300 bottles per minute.
Two Brothers Brewing Company is proud of the fact that since inception we've remained 100% family owned. Two Brothers' Whole family of great beers are currently available in Illinois, Florida, Indiana, Minnesota, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

The following is a transcript of the video:
Cartel Wives: So during 2005 to 2008 our husbands trafficked $2 billion to Mexico. And we would see these houses full of money. You know, they had hydraulic walls that would just come out like 007 with millions of dollars. We would have a room full of money. $1-$2 million sitting in the room, you know, for us to grab at our expense and that was usual. They had workers that worked there, you know, eight-hour shifts, three shifts per day just counting money and they would count maybe a million dollars in a couple hours and run it through the machines. And we're talking, you know, fives and tens and ones, we're talking street money. Now did we benefit from it? Did we live a good life? Yes, of course, we did. We were spoiled, we ate well, we traveled, we would sometimes want to stay on vacation for a month on the beach and just live life to its fullest but at the end of the day we wanted to denounce that life and we knew what mattered to us was love and family and simplicity.

Kill for gain or shoot to maim but we don't need a reason
The Golden Goose is on the loose and never out of season
Blackened pride still burns inside this shell of bloody treason
Here's my gun for a barrel of fun for the love of living death
The killer's breed or the demon's seed
The glamour, the fortune, the pain
Go to war again, blood is freedom's stain
But don't you pray for my soul anymore
2 minutes to midnight, the hands that threaten doom
2 minutes to midnight, to kill the unborn in the womb
The blind men shout let the creatures out, we'll show the unbelievers
The napalm screams of human flames, of a prime-time Belsen feast... YEAH!
As the reasons for the carnage cut their meat and lick the gravy
We oil the jaws of the war machine and feed it with our babies
The killer's breed or the demon's seed
The glamour, the fortune, the pain
Go to war again, blood is freedom's stain
But don't you pray for my soul anymore
2 minutes to midnight...
The body bags and little rags of children torn in two
And the jellied brains of those who remain to put the finger right on you
As the madmen play on words and make us all dance to their song
To the tune of starving millions, to make a better kind of gun
The killer's breed or the demon's seed
The glamour, the fortune, the pain
Go to war again, blood is freedom's stain
But don't you pray for my soul anymore
2 minutes to midnight...
Midnight... midnight... it's all night
Midnight... midnight... all night!

'2 Minutes To Midnight' is a song from Iron Maiden's album ''Powerslave'',released in 1984.
''About the politics of war and destruction, '2 Minutes To Midnight' makes a meaningful statement about the morality of warmongers and politicians.
As the madmen play on words
And make us all dance to their song
To the tune of starving millions
To make a better kind of gun
The most vivid images are summoned here to highlight the horrors of this world, and the prime-time Belsen feast probably refers to those terrible pictures that show up at almost every news bulletin on TV. Bergen-Belsen was one of the most horrifying concentration camps in Nazi Germany (although it is obvious that the sheer existence of such places was an insult to Mankind in itself) and the reference to such terrible events happening in prime-time seems to indicate that, although such things are still taking place nowadays in one form or another, they have become some sort of a show and no one pays much attention anymore. In retrospect, this is somehow reminiscent of the verses you watch the world exploding every single night in the song 'The Wicker Man' or of withered hands, withered bodies, begging for salvation in 'Out Of The Silent Planet', both song from the 2000 album ironically titled Brave New World.
The title of the song refers to the Doomsday Clock, one of the most chilling and best known symbols of the nuclear age, representing how close humanity is to the brink of nuclear holocaust (midnight). The clock reached 2 minutes to midnight in September 1953, after the Soviets successfully detonated an awesomely powerful thermonuclear device. Today the clock stands at 7 minutes to midnight after little progress was made on global nuclear disarmament. In 2002, the United States rejected a series of arms control treaties and announced it will withdraw from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty. Moreover, terrorists seek to acquire and use nuclear and biological weapons. Bad news for mankind indeed!''
'Powerslave' is the fifth studio album by the English heavy metal band Iron Maiden, released on September 2, 1984 on EMI in Europe and it's sister label Capitol Records in the US (it was re-released by Sanctuary/Columbia Records in the US in 2002). It is notable for its Egyptian theme displayed in the album art, as well in the title track's musical style. It contains a musical re-telling of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's Rime of the Ancient Mariner, which uses pieces of the original poem as lyrics, and is the longest song Iron Maiden have ever recorded at a length of 13 minutes and 38 seconds.

Narrated by Gene Wilder, EXPO – Magic of the White City brings the Chicago World’s Fair to life. Experience the world of 1893 through a cinematic visit to Chicago’s Columbian Exposition.
Subscribe for more great documentaries!
Nearly 28 million people visited the Fair. Dubbed the “White City,” it inspired future innovators like Henry Ford and Frank Lloyd Wright, unveiled the Ferris Wheel and Cracker Jack®, and, in many ways, marked the beginning of the 20th century. Many of the era’s greatest achievements in science, technology and culture were unveiled there. The grounds were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famous for his design of New York City’s Central Park, and constructed under the supervision of Daniel Burnham.
The Fair was an engineering marvel. On opening day, President Grover Cleveland depressed a golden telegraph key which sent the first courses of electricity throughout the Fair powering fountains, machines, electric railways and thousands of lights. It was the first use of electricity on such a massive scale.
In addition, fairgoers enjoyed the Midway Plaisance where a one-mile boulevard of fun offered camel riding and guilty pleasures such as belly dancing, street fighting and beer drinking. Against the backdrop of 1893’s troubles with workers’ rights, prejudice, discrimination and corruption, the World’s Columbian Exposition cast a brief ray of hope for the future of humanity.
Filmed in spectacular High-Definition, EXPO – Magic of the White City immerses viewers in one of the world’s biggest extravaganzas and one of the most unforgettable events in American history. There will never be another event like it… or will there?
