We kind of had it on the back burner until we really found out it was going to happen. We're kind of a smaller operation here, so in the peak months of July and August, it's a very busy brewing schedule. So we discussed, if we were going to do a beer to honour the president's visit here, what would we do? We talked about a presidential pilsner, but the time for that to be produced was too long of a window to actually make it match and be ready at the time, so we decided to go with an ale. And we decided, how about a presidenti-ale? So born was the name presidenti-ale and the toast would be 'ale to the chief' honouring the Commander in Chief for choosing the Vineyard.

STORYLINE:
The First Family of the United States will kick off a week-long vacation in Martha's Vineyard on Sunday, renewing the small island off Cape Cod's fame as a Presidential retreat.
Former President Bill Clinton and his family also spent time holidaying at the New England island.
There's considerable excitement in the town of Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts - a town with a long history as an enclave for affluent African-American vacationers.
Oak Bluffs is also home to 'the Inkwell,' a famed stretch of beach popular with black families on vacation.
I was excited and I was hoping I would get a chance to just see him, said Kendall Flowers, while on the beach with his family.
We are very happy that he is the President, something that we never thought we'd see.
Signs are popping up around the island welcoming the Obama family to Martha's Vineyard.
Ernest Hardaway from Chicago, Illinois, who has been vacationing in Oak Bluffs for 40 years, knows why the retreat appeals to President Barack Obama and his family.
The island's only micro-brewery is putting the finishing touches on a beer to honour the President.

Rose Abrahamson: Martha's Vineyard Artist
Rose Abrahamson says at my age, death and time are my friends. It could be a Samuel Beckett quote. But it's her's. It says a lot.
Rose lives in the time of a person struck by timelessness, the timelessness of an imagination in continuous motion. In such a life, it is possible, to paraphrase William Butler Yeats, to lose the dancer in the dance.
In Rose Abrahamson the labor of life, blossoming or dancing, is continuous. And, at 88 her interior life surfaces and recedes constantly. It blooms in conversation and recedes in memory. That surface and bloom is most available in her painting. Through the paintings she's done is a gateway, an aperture that lifts the spirit. It separates us from how's or why's of our perception and gets us to be in some half-symbolic state of being. With Rose this is a safe, fluid place of imagination, and there, for an instant is our own timelessness too. We become friends with it..
I don't know where my paintings come from. But the deeper I go the more people respond — more people relate — It's like my imagination is a collective imagination. Because I'm human... like everybody else.

Michelle Obama the modern Marie Antoinette !?
The Obamas They take all these extravagant vacations. They take December vacations, Obama going to Florida to play golf with Tiger Wood -costing 180000 Dollars an hour on Air Force One. All these rich people with Michelle Obama, she flies to Aspen, flying separately. This woman who is so privileged and has been her entire life. And they are trying to make it seem as if this woman relates to normal people !

Obama Family and Staff Cost Taxpayers $1.4 Billion in 2011
Among the other perks of the Obama presidency:
Appointed staff not requiring Senate confirmation, including 226 senior staffers (of 469 total) making over $100,000 a year and 43 czars
Free vacations at Camp David, estimated to cost $295,000 per night when transportation and personnel costs are included
A movie projectionist who lives and sleeps at the White House to be available at the president's beck and call — a position that has not been eliminated despite the existence of cable TV, DVDs, and streaming Internet video
Many paid travel and security expenses during vacations, such as the $75,000-a-day tab for First Lady Michelle Obama's five-day trip to Spain in 2010 (in the span of one year she took 42 vacation days)
A dog handler who reportedly earned $102,000 in 2011
The Obamas' summer break on Martha's Vineyard has already been branded a PR disaster after the couple arrived four hours apart on separate government jets.
But according to new reports, this is the least of their extravagances.
White House sources today claimed that the First Lady has spent $10million of U.S. taxpayers' money on vacations alone in the past year.
Expensive taste: Michelle Obama, pictured yesterday in West Tisbury, Massachusetts, has been accused of spending $10m of public money on vacations
Branding her 'disgusting' and 'a vacation junkie', they say the 47-year-old mother-of-two has been indulging in five-star hotels, where she splashes out on expensive massages and alcohol.

KNIFE POINT Another armed robbery in Yarmouth 222 final
SOUTH YARMOUTH – For the second day in a row someone was robbed by a masked man wielding a knife in the Town of Yarmouth.
At about 1:59PM, police were notified that an older gentleman had just been robbed in the parking lot next to Stop and Shop at 55 Long Pond Drive.
The suspect was described as white male, about 6 feet tall, skinny build, and about 180 pounds. He was reportedly wearing a dark colored mask, a dark colored hat, and a dark colored jacket during the robbery.
The suspect reportedly pulled knife out of his pocket, pointed toward the victim and said, “Do you think I'm kidding?”
The knife wielding robber then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash toward the Swan Pond Village apartment buildings.
A Yarmouth Police K-9 unit began tracking next to Stop and Shop toward a path which leads to the neighboring apartment buildings.
Massachusetts State Troopers also responded to assist Yarmouth Patrols with searching the Swan Pond Village neighborhood.
The investigation is ongoing and the suspect remains at large. It remains uncertain whether today's robbery is related to a similar armed robbery which occurred at Timmy's Roast Beef yesterday evening. In yesterday's robbery the suspect also had his face masked (or covered with a white t-shirt) and he had also wielded a knife.
Both armed robberies are being investigated by the Yarmouth Police Department.
The following video footage shows investigators speaking with the victim. It also highlights search efforts.
