Disney’s Aladdin has “landed triumphantly in London’s West End” (Daily Telegraph). Featuring all the songs from the Academy Award-winning classic film, this “shining, shimmering spectacle” (Huffington Post) is everything you could wish for and more. The extraordinary creative team is led by director and choreographer, Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon). Music is by Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast) with lyrics from Howard Ashman (Beauty and the Beast), Tim Rice (The Lion King) and Chad Beguelin (Elf), who also wrote the book.
The lead roles of Aladdin and Jasmine are taken by rising British stars Dean John-Wilson (Here Lies Love) and Jade Ewen (In the Heights). Broadway’s Trevor Dion Nicholas has made his London stage debut as the Genie. A fabulous cast and orchestra, over 350 magnificent costumes, and breathtaking sets and special effects come together to create the “sheer Genie-us” (Evening Standard) that is Aladdin, an unmissable event in London theatre.

(We spent) 3 days shooting 'The Avengers' in New York in the summer of 2011 and we'd been in Albakerky, New Mexico and Cleveland, Ohio and as soon as we arrived in New York, all anyone wanted to do was go and see this and there were tickets going on the internet for $1000 and people were saying 'it's all sold out, how can we go,' and I didn't get to see it and I've never seen it, so I'm just really excited to see it. Everyone I've spoken to has said that there's people crying with laughter. So, yeah, I'm really looking forward to it.

(Reporter: It's been massive in New York, do you think it is going to be as big over here?)
Rhodes: Bigger, I think it's got a very British sensibility actually. Matt and Trey understand our humour and have executed this in the most brilliant way. I think it will be pretty successful.

STORYLINE
'THE BOOK OF MORMON' HITS THE WEST END STAGE
Tom Hiddleston, Damian Lewis and Elizabeth McGovern were among the stars in attendance at the opening night of The Book of Mormon in London Thursday night (21 March 2013).
The 9-times Tony Award winning musical from South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone is making its West End debut after two and a half years on Broadway.
Speaking as he arrived for the show The Avengers actor Tom Hiddleston said he was really excited to see it:
Everyone I've spoken to has said that there's people crying with laughter. So, yeah, I'm really looking forward to it.
Downton Abbey star Brendan Coyle has also only heard good things about the musical.
