What Happened When We Visited a Haunted House in New York
When Miss Fanny Van Wyck, born in 1903, passed away in 1988, she could never have imagined her house would be auctioned off by the state against her dying wish. Now her ghost is believed to remain in Miss Fanny's Victorian Party House in Poughkeepsie, New York. The home is known as one of the most haunted in New York State. InsideEdition.com visited the historic location with a psychic medium to explore the house and find out if it really is haunted. The results were truly terrifying.

The Sidewalks of New York: The Documentary (CC)
This film is a documentary that begins with the tale of the famous tune and builds every moment toward the fascinating story behind Governor Al Smith, the most forgotten historical figure in American history. The elections of 1924 and 1928 are featured prominently in the story's second half, and along the way a handful of songs from the same time period are played to portray that, while this film is somewhat about the tune 'The Sidewalks of New York', the other songs do their part to lift up and bring the story home, all joining together to complete one of the most inspiring tales in New York history.
To watch with music at a slightly lower volume:

- Angel Guastaferro performed Pretty Jennie Slattery on piano
- Al Smith's wife Catherine, known as Katie, died several months before Al did, not just one week

Deadly altercation over parking spot caught on camera

Driving Downtown - Richmond Main Street 4K - Virginia USA
Driving Downtown Streets - Main Street - Richmond Virginia USA - Episode 48.
Starting Point: .
Richmond is the capital of the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the United States.
The site of Richmond had been an important village of the Powhatan Confederacy, and was briefly settled by English colonists from Jamestown in 1609, and in 1610–1611. The present city of Richmond was founded in 1737. It became the capital of the Colony and Dominion of Virginia in 1780. During the Revolutionary War period, several notable events occurred in the city, including Patrick Henry's Give me liberty or give me death speech in 1775 at St. John's Church, and the passage of the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom written by Thomas Jefferson. During the American Civil War, Richmond served as the capital of the Confederate States of America. The city entered the 20th century with one of the world's first successful electric streetcar systems, as well as a national hub of African-American commerce and culture, the Jackson Ward neighborhood.
Richmond's economy is primarily driven by law, finance, and government, with federal, state, and local governmental agencies, as well as notable legal and banking firms, located in the downtown area. The city is home to both the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, one of 13 United States courts of appeals, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, one of 12 Federal Reserve Banks. Dominion Resources and MeadWestvaco, Fortune 500 companies, are headquartered in the city, with others in the metropolitan area.
Economy
Law and finance have long been driving forces in the economy.[87] The city is home to both the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, one of 13 United States courts of appeals, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, one of 12 Federal Reserve Banks, as well as offices for international companies such as Genworth Financial, CapitalOne, Philip Morris USA, and numerous other banks and brokerages. Richmond is also home to four of the largest law firms in the United States: Hunton & Williams, McGuireWoods, Williams Mullen, and LeClairRyan. Another law firm with a major Richmond presence is Troutman Sanders, which merged with Richmond-based Mays & Valentine LLP in 2001.
Richmond's revitalized downtown includes the Canal Walk, a new Greater Richmond Convention Center, and expansion on both VCU campuses. A new performing arts center, Richmond CenterStage,[90] opened on September 12, 2009.[91] The complex included a renovation of the Carpenter Center and construction of a new multipurpose hall, community playhouse, and arts education center in parts of the old Thalhimers department store.[92]
Richmond is also fast-becoming known for its food scene, with several restaurants in the Fan, Church Hill, Jackson Ward and elsewhere around the city generating regional and national attention for their fare. Departures magazine named Richmond The Next Great American Food City in August 2014.[93][94] Also in 2014, Southern Living magazine named three Richmond restaurants – Comfort, Heritage and The Roosevelt – among its 100 Best Restaurants in the South,[95] while Metzger Bar & Butchery made its Best New Restaurants: 12 To Watch list.[96] Craft beer and liquor production is also growing in the River City, with twelve micro-breweries in city proper; the oldest is Legend Brewery, founded in 1994. Three distilleries, Reservoir Distillery, Belle Isle Craft Spirits and James River Distillery, were established in 2010, 2013 and 2014, respectively.
Additionally, Richmond is gaining attention from the film and television industry, with several high-profile films shot in the metro region in the past few years, including the major motion picture Lincoln which led to Daniel Day-Lewis's third Oscar, Killing Kennedy with Rob Lowe, airing on the National Geographic Channel and Turn, starring Jamie Bell and airing on AMC. In 2015 Richmond will be the main filming location for the upcoming PBS drama series Mercy Street, which will premiere in Winter 2016. Several organizations, including the Virginia Film Office and the Virginia Production Alliance, along with events like the Richmond International Film Festival and French Film Festival, continue to put draw supporters of film and media to the region.

3. Various of Ethan Long, Co-Founder of Rockaway Brewing Company
4. SOUNDBITE (English) Ethan Long, Co-Founder of Rockaway Brewing Company:
I think there's potential upsides. Obviously this neighbourhood's changed drastically over the last 20 years so it's not like this has happened overnight with just Amazon saying today where we're coming so I think it's. It's interesting, I think there is potential for it to be a good thing depending on how we structure and plan our upgrades to our infrastructure and how we deal with all the buildings that are here. I mean this is a great community, a great spot that had artists, had a lot of small businesses. If they can integrate together I think it's an upside to kind of benefit both.
5. Various of Citibank building, where Amazon will be based until they build a new waterfront campus
6. Subway entrance
7. Subway train with new development in the background
8. Various of new buildings, real estate office
9. SOUNDBITE (English) Vanessa Connelly, Director of Sales, Halstead Property Development Marketing:
Long Island City as an investment I think has been strong to begin with. This news is huge. I mean just the traffic that we've had over the past week and with people coming in, there's a lot of people that are are excited about this neighbourhood and more excited about this neighbourhood because they understand that, you know, seeing the Silicon Valleys of the day is all of these things that have happened, that their investment could be, you know, there's just no end.
10. Various of Queensbridge public housing complex
11. SOUNDBITE (English) Giselle Roman, Local resident:
I don't think so. I don't think it may well be that big of a change. If anything it will be... gave us opportunities to probably get jobs at a local Amazon.
12. SOUNDBITE (English) Silvia Martinez, Local resident:
I think it will be a good effect, more jobs. I that is amazing, more jobs. I think it's cool. I'll put in an application for myself.
13. New high rises
14. Area where Amazon headquarters will be built
STORYLINE:
Amazon has set its sights on two of the nation's largest and most powerful metro areas, announcing Tuesday it had chosen a buzzy New York neighbourhood and a suburb of Washington for its new East Coast headquarters.
The online shopping giant ended its 14-month-long competition for second headquarters by selecting Long Island City, Queens, and Arlington, Virginia , as the joint winners.
Both are waterfront communities away from overcrowded business districts, giving Amazon space to grow.
In Long Island City, many business owners are cautiously optimistic.
Ethan Long, Co-Founder of Rockaway Brewing Company, had been in the neighbourhood since 2015 and he says that as long as infrastructure investment follows Amazon to the area, it could be good for everyone.
Amazon could have picked a city looking to be revitalised, like Newark, New Jersey.
Instead, it decided to be in two of the nation's centres of power.
The reason Amazon gave: they are best suited to attract the high-skilled workers the company wants. The two sites will each get 25,000 jobs that Amazon said will pay an average of 150,000 US dollars a year.
The hope is that Amazon will attract other companies and ultimately boost the local economies.

Billy Joel - Miami 2017 (VH1 Beat-Club - Musikladen Show)
William Martin Billy Joel (born May 9, 1949) is an American musician and pianist, singer-songwriter, and classical composer. Since releasing his first hit song, Piano Man, in 1973, Joel has become the sixth best-selling recording artist and the third best-selling solo artist in the United States, according to the RIAA.
Joel had Top 40 hits in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s; achieving 33 Top 40 hits in the United States, all of which he wrote singlehandedly. He is also a six-time Grammy Award winner, a 23-time Grammy nominee and has sold over 150 million records worldwide.[3] He was inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame (1992), the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1999), the Long Island Music Hall of Fame (2006) and the Hit Parade Hall of Fame (2009). Joel retired from recording pop music in 1993 but continues to tour (often with Elton John).
Joel was born in The Bronx, New York and raised in Hicksville, New York. His father, Howard (born Helmuth), was born in Germany as the son of German-Jewish merchant and manufacturer Karl Amson Joel who, after the advent of the Nazi regime, emigrated to Switzerland and later to the United States. Billy Joel's mother, Rosalind Nyman, was born in England to a Jewish family (Philip and Rebecca Nyman). His parents divorced in 1960, and his father moved to Vienna, Austria. Billy has a sister, Judith Joel, and a half-brother, Alexander Joel, who is an acclaimed classical conductor in Europe, currently chief musical director of the Staatstheater Braunschweig.
Joel's father was an accomplished classical pianist. Billy reluctantly began piano lessons at an early age, at his mother's insistence; his teachers included the noted American pianist Morton Estrin and musician/songwriter Timothy Ford. His interest in music, rather than sports, was a source of teasing and bullying in his early years. (He has said in interviews that his piano instructor also taught ballet. Her name was Frances Neiman, and she was a Juilliard trained musician. She gave both classic piano and ballet lessons in the studio attached to the rear of her house, leading neighborhood bullies to mistakenly think he was learning to dance.) As a teenager, Joel took up boxing so that he would be able to defend himself. He boxed successfully on the amateur Golden Gloves circuit for a short time, winning twenty-two bouts, but abandoned the sport shortly after having his nose broken in his twenty-fourth boxing match.
Joel attended Hicksville High School, class of 1967. Joel however did not graduate from Hicksville. Due to playing at a piano bar, he was one English credit short of the graduation requirement; he overslept on the day of an important exam, owing to his late-night musician's lifestyle. He left high school without a diploma to begin a career in music. I told them, 'the hell with it. If I'm not going to Columbia University, I'm going to Columbia Records and you don't need a high school diploma over there'. Columbia did, in fact, become the label that eventually signed him. In 1992, he submitted essays to the school board and was awarded his diploma at Hicksville High's annual graduation ceremony, 25 years after he had left.
Upon seeing The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964, Joel decided to pursue a full-time musical career, and set about finding a local Long Island band to join. Eventually he found the Echoes, a group that specialized in British Invasion covers. The Echoes became a popular New York attraction, convincing him to leave high school to become a professional musician. He began playing for the Echoes when he was 14 years old. ~ SOURCE: Wikipedia
