The Salisbury Zoological Park is a free to enter zoo with quite a wide range of animals, both small and large. Whilst I didn't visit the No 1 (on Tripadvisor) Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art I must say on a summer afternoon, the zoo is a perfect place to stop and chill when travelling between Ocean CIty and Baltimore.

Americana Centre is in a great location in downtown Rockville. Adjacent to the Courthouse buildings. It is comprised of 2 high-rise buildings, surrounded by a perimeter of 3 story garden style condo buildings.
The large campus is well maintained with an outdoor pool and fitness center. Each garden style entrance has a secured lobby door, that can be accessed with an electronic device (FOB). This feature is nice since many garden style buildings do not have interior lobbies to stay warm and secure. Americana Centre is also just a short walk to the Rockville metro station.
WALK 4 the POOR Amesbury-Salisbury 2012
According to CityData.com, 1400 residents in Amesbury and 550 residents in Salisbury are living at or below the poverty level. Of these numbers' total, the data source goes on to report, nearly 600 are considered the very poor: that is folks living at less than fifty percent of the poverty level, also reporting that approximately 400 Amesbury/Salisbury children under the age of fourteen experience the crush of poverty daily.
Seeking not only to talk the talk, but to walk the walk, the Holy Family Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society (Holy Family and Star of the Sea Parishes) encouraged the greater Amesbury/Salisbury community to take to the streets and WALK 4 the POOR on September 29th. In doing so, the charitable organization raised funds to be used in assisting the poor throughout the two towns.
Monies, raised by walkers and through those making pledges to support them, will be used by our local Saint Vincent de Paul Conference to provide a wide range of assistance to the needy including: - - housing assistance; disaster relief; food and medicine support; clothing provision; transportation and utility costs aid; and care for the elderly.
While part of a national Vincentian effort entitled Friends of the Poor Walk/Run held throughout the United States on the 29th, all monies raised locally remain local. - - Additionally since the Holy Family Conference is an all-volunteer entity, all monies collected are and will be used in service of the poor.
The Lord hears the cry of the poor; blessed be the Lord.
