Places to see in ( Milan - Italy ) Fondazione Prada
Fondazione Prada, co-chaired by Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli since 1995, is an institution dedicated to contemporary art and culture. From 1993 to 2010, the Fondazione has organised 24 solo shows at its exhibition spaces in Milan, conceived as dialogues with acclaimed contemporary artists. In 2015, the Fondazione Prada opened a new, permanent facility in Milan.
In the past 20 years, it has also promoted a rich cultural programme, such as film festivals (Tribeca Film Festival at Fondazione Prada”, 2004; “Italian Kings of the Bs. Secret History of Italian Cinema, 1949–1976”, 2004; “Secret History of Asian Cinema”, 2005; “Secret History of Russian Cinema”, 2007), multi-disciplinary and philosophy talks and architecture and design projects (“Herzog & de Meuron, OMA/AMO Rem Koolhaas. Projects for Prada. Works in Progress”, 2001; “Unveiling the Prada Foundation”, 2008; “Rotor: Ex Limbo”, 2011. In 2011, the Fondazione Prada opened a new exhibition space in Venice, the Ca’ Corner della Regina, a historic palazzo on the Grand Canal, which has hosted several collective exhibitions: “Fondazione Prada_Ca’ Corner”, 2011; “The Small Utopia. Ars multiplicata”, 2012, “When Attitudes Become Form: Bern 1969/Venice 2013”, 2013 and Art or Sound, 2014.
On 9 May 2015, the Fondazione Prada unveiled its new permanent Milan venue, in Largo Isarco. The new Milan venue of the Fondazione, conceived by architecture firm OMA—led by Rem Koolhaas—expands the repertoire of spatial typologies in which art can be exhibited and shared with the public. The complex, which is the result of the transformation of a former distillery dating back to the 1910s, is articulated by an architectural configuration which combines preexisting buildings with three new structures, named “Podium”, “Cinema” and “Torre”. The hallmark of the new venue is the so-called “Haunted House”, a 4-story building, clad in 24 carat gold foil, where pieces from the permanent collection of art of the Fondazione Prada are permanently on display.

Italy: Milan derby draws big crowds
AC Milan and Inter Milan supporters were in a buoyant mood before the Milan derby at the San Siro stadium on Sunday evening.
Inter Milan won a thrilling game 3-2 to overtake their city rivals and move into third position in Serie A.
Inter opened the scoring after three minutes thanks to Matias Vecino. They doubled their lead at the beginning of second half when defender Steven de Vrij headed in a corner.
Tiemoue Bakayoko's header gave AC Milan a lifeline, but the lead was restored ten minutes later by Lautaro Martinez from the spot.
Mateo Musacchio managed to claw a second goal back for the Rossoneri, but AC Milan were to find the all-important equaliser.

AC Milan vs Arsenal 4-3 : Disaster Night For Arsenal in Milan - UCL 2012
Arsenal scored three first-half goals but could not complete an epic comeback against AC Milan, who held on to reach the Champions League quarter-finals.
Milan, leading 4-0 from the first leg, were rocked when Laurent Koscielny headed home a corner and a mistake let Tomas Rosicky slot in Arsenal's second.
Robin van Persie's penalty increased the Gunners' momentum before the break.
But the Dutchman missed a golden chance from close range and Milan had the best openings in a frantic end to the game.
Arsenal's night ultimately ended in glorious failure but the spirit and verve with which they went about a seemingly impossible task means they bow out of Europe with their heads held high.
Starbucks opens its first shop in Milan, but faces stiff competition
(6 Sep 2018) Starbucks is opening its first store in Italy, hoping that premium brews and novelties will win customers, but it will face stiff competition in a country fond of its daily espresso rituals.
Decades ago, Milan's coffee bars inspired the chain's vision.
Now Starbucks is hoping clients will visit its new store, called the Reserve Roastery, to watch beans being roasted, sip coffee or enjoy cocktails at a mezzanine-level bar in a cavernous, former post office near the city's Duomo, or cathedral.
Starbucks chief design officer Liz Muller said earlier this week that the company is not coming to Italy to teach people about coffee. This is where coffee was born.
Instead, Muller said, Starbucks wanted to come and bring a premium experience that is different to what people in Italy are used to.
She described that formula as including many different brewing techniques and a space where we want you to stay longer and relax and enjoy.
In Italy, an espresso at a coffee bar is usually a quick morning or after-lunch ritual performed standing up.
In many neighborhoods, cafes are practically on every corner, and Italians are on a first-name basis with their trusted barista.
Italy is Starbucks' 78th global market, and the Milan opening comes 20 years after Starbucks opened its first store in Europe, in London.
The company has described the Milan store as the crown jewel of Starbucks global retail footprint. It says it plans more cafes for Milan later this year.
Milan is the first place where Starbucks has opened a store in its Roastery format in untested territory.
It opened a Roastery in Seattle, the U.S. city that is home to its corporate headquarters, in 2014, and a second one in Shanghai last year.
Italians are used to marble counters for coffee bars, but Starbucks boasts that it outfitted its counter tops in the Milan store with heating so they won't feel stone cold on chill days.
The centerpiece of the Milan store is a 6.5-meter (22-foot) high bronze cask, part of the roasting process.
Some of the Milanese coffee drinkers are still to be persuaded.
I think the classic Italian coffee is best, said Giuanluigi while having his shot of espresso at a local coffee shop.
I also prefer it when I go abroad, Giuanluigi said.
The company also hopes the store's cocktail bar will be an attraction: Many who work in Milan, Italy's fashion and financial capital, cherish the tradition of meeting friends or colleagues for an aperitivo, or pre-dinner cocktail, often in cafes.

Anish Kapoor, Dirty Corner in Milan, Vabrica del Vapore
The site-specific installation Dirty Corner will fully occupy the Cathedral of the Fabbrica del Vapore. This installation -- realized with the backing of the Galleria Continua, the Lisson Gallery, and the Galleria Massimo Minini -- consists of a huge steel volume 60 metres long and 8 metres high which the visitors can enter. The entrance is goblet-shaped; the interior and exterior surface is circular and has only a minimum contact with the ground. The work will be progressively covered with some 160 cubic metres of soil.
Most Beautiful Starbucks in the World / Exploring Milan
The Milan Roastery is the only roastery in Europe to date. It was Starbucks itself as the most beautiful Starbucks in the world. It is located in Piazza Cordusio, a former Post Office and located near the Duomo Milano. They have a roasting plant, and roast fresh coffee. They also have huge cold brew drips.
The main bar with seven different coffee extractions, a scooping bar where guests can purchase freshly roasted coffee beans, baked goods from iconic Milanese bakery Princi, a merch area where you can see limited edition collectibles.
The Arriviamo Bar is the place for signature cocktails infused with coffee. They also have an Affogato station that is exclusive to the Milan Roastery. We ordered the Affogato ice cream that is created with liquid nitrogen and it was heavenly. There are baristas in every corner that are willing to help you with a friendly smile. The sad part Frappuccinos on the menu, but instead, 115 selection of drinks to choose from. This is also the only Starbucks with securities in a suit, which is very intimidating.
We enjoyed the experience and the ambiance, we felt like we are in a museum. Shout out to Abby, the best Fil-Italian Barista!

Zulu Lulu (B. Dickinson/ J. Gers)
Bruce Dickinson: Vocals
Janick Gers: Guitar
Andy Carr: Bass
Dickie Fliszar: Drums
[Lyrics]
She fixed me in the corner with that beautiful brown eye.
She said I'd like to meet you I was so surprised.
Well, what can I do for you. What can you do for me.
We made for the exit had to wait and see.
I hope I'm not wasting your precious time.
I no your not wasting mine.
We came together over coffee with milk.
She never stopped till every drop was spilled.
She was a zulu lulu.
Broke my back and my heart at the same time.
It was nice.
Just a zulu lulu.
I had to move on when I came back she'd gone.
She dropped to her knees. I guess she had religion.
She lived with her mother. Had been a good girl twice.
When I asked her to comment on her present position.
She said she'd like to take a late preachers advise.
I ain't looking for sympathy
But prayers for the wicked are kinda nice.
She said I don't like to preach to the converted.
I said you could be a good girl more than twice.
Like this.
She was a zulu lulu.
Broke my back and my heart at the same time.
It was nice.
Just a zulu lulu.
I had to move on when I came back she'd gone.
I ain't looking for sympathy
But prayers for the wicked are kinda nice.
She looked me up and down and said Assiagod for me.
I began to see god. She said, wait and see babe.
Wait. Wait. I'm coming.
She was a zulu lulu.
Broke my back and my heart at the same time.
It was nice.
Just a zulu lulu.
I had to move on when I came back she'd gone.
....................................
''Zulu Lulu'' is a song from Bruce Dickinson's debut solo album, Tattooed Millionaire. It was released in October, 1990.
'' 'Tattooed Millionaire' is a hard rock album released in 1990 by Bruce Dickinson. It is his first solo album. The album project began when Dickinson was asked to record a song for the fifth Nightmare on Elm Street movie, which became the song called Bring your Daughter...to the Slaughter. Collaborating with future Iron Maiden guitarist Janick Gers, Dickinson began to make a solo album which was fundamentally different from his works with Iron Maiden, sounding much more rock-oriented. Bring your Daughter... was not included on the original album but Iron Maiden later recorded a different version that was included on their 1990 album No Prayer for the Dying, which coincidentally became the band's only number one single to date. The introduction to the song No Lies is also reminiscent of Iron Maiden's version of Bring your Daughter...to the Slaughter. All songs written and composed by Bruce Dickinson and Janick Gers, except where noted. ''
'' 'Tattooed Millionaire' was recorded when Bruce and the lads in Iron Maiden had a year off. 1989/90 was a busy year for Bruce with recording this solo album, starring in a TV-series and publishing a book. To get a band together he contacted a friend he met during his time in Samson, Janick Gers. Back then he was guitarist with Ian Gillan who Samson supported on tour in 1980. Other musicians are Andy Carr, bassplayer in the band Three rivers and drummer Fabio Del Rio who then was with the band Jagged Edge.
The album was recorded in Battery studios in London and was produced by Chris Tsangrides. It featured the Mott the Hoople cover All the young dudes (also released as single) which Bruce changed the words for. In the line My brother's back at home with the Beatles and the Stones he exchanged the word brother to father, since he thought it was such a long time the original words were written that it fitted better to have his father back at home with the Beatles and the Stones.
The album was a way for Bruce to ventilate his workoholism but he did nothing that he thought would scare people off as it was made under the watchful eye of the collective, i.e. Iron Maiden. '' (Sourse:The Bruce Dickinson Wellbeng Network)
