Lincoln's Ghost Train | Behind the Haunting #007
In this live video we will dive deep into the paranormal claims and reports about the ghostly apparition of the entire train that was used to transport President Abraham Lincoln from Washington D.C. back to Springfield, Ill. a.k.a. Lincolns Ghost Train (1865).
There are varying accounts of spectral funeral train sightings (Lincolns Ghost Train) of the old Union silently traveling through the night. Those who have seen the vision report that they have seen a train car draped in black housing a casket surrounded by mourners guarded by skeletal remains dressed in blue uniforms. The smoke stacks billow and bells clang but not of this time and place. A popular version of this story is one that has been retold many times stemming from a quote in the Albany Evening Times. This version is taken from The Pittsburgh Press (1978).
The train (Lincolns Ghost Train) always appeared in Albany on April 27th, the anniversary of its first passing. Track walkers and section hands would sit along the railroad tracks in the early evening of the fateful day and wait for the ghost train to come into view. At midnight—always at midnight—the engine would emerge from the darkness, moving silently down the track with black crepe flowing from its sides and emitting faintly audible sounds of funeral music.
The phantom train (Lincolns Ghost Train) would glide over a black carpet that appeared to cover the tracks, while spectral solders in blue uniforms, of the Union army trotted along side it. As the apparition moved down the tracks, it would fade from view over some phantom horizon

ABOUT THIS FEED:
Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada, in the Canadian Rockies, is located on the Canadian Pacific Railway (CP), where their Shuswap Sub meets their Mountain Sub. The Shuswap Sub runs to the west to Kamloops, BC (towards Vancouver, BC), and the Mountain Sub runs to the east to Field, BC, through Rogers Pass.
The CP traverses the Canadian Rockies over 2 passes. Rogers Pass, which is to the immediate east of Revelstoke, and further east, Kicking Horse Pass, which is to the immediate east of Field. Rogers Pass is at 4,360 feet (1,330 meters), and Kicking Horse Pass is at 5,339 feet (1,627 meters). To the west of Revelstoke is the lower Eagle Pass, at 1,804 feet (550 meters).
Among the freight trains seen here are unit potash, unit grain, and unit coal. Loaded westbounds feature both mid-train and end-of-train DPU’s, and empty eastbounds have fewer engines, both on front and as DPU’s. Many but not all eastbounds will stop to enter the yard, which is located to the east of the museum and cameras. Also seen are manifests, intermodal, and combined intermodal/manifest..
On occasion, the gates will activate, but will soon after deactivate, with no train, which is due to the switcher in the yard proceeding far forward enough to enter the crossing's track circuit.
There are no VIA Rail passenger trains through Revelstoke, however, during part of the year the Rocky Mountaineer can be seen.
There are 2 ATCS layouts, one for each sub, but there is no server coverage. No radio feeds are available.
There’s no schedule for freight trains, but some of our more knowledgeable members will provide real-time information when it’s available. Please refrain from asking.

Inside The Trump MAGA Hat Factory
We went inside the factory where President Donald Trump's iconic Make America Great Again, or MAGA, hats are made. Located just outside Los Angeles, the factory employs around 100 workers, most of whom are Latino.

Following is a transcript of the video:
Narrator: The Trump campaign's officially licensed Make America Great Again, or MAGA hats, are made here, at the Cali-Fame headwear factory in Carson, California, just outside of Los Angeles.
Brian Kennedy: The fabric, the cord, the plastic strap, the fabric underneath, the sweatband, the whole hat is made here in America.
Narrator: The company doesn't only make MAGA hats. It specializes in all kinds of headwear, which it manufactures and customizes. But the company has worked with Trump for years. Before the campaign, Cali-Fame made hats for Trump's golf courses.
Brian Kennedy: We've been making golf hats since the '50s. Cali-Fame Los Angeles was one of the first golf hat manufacturers.
Narrator: The red MAGA hat retails for $25. Every purchase of a MAGA hat, along with any other item for sale on the Trump campaign's official website, counts as a campaign contribution. Around 100 employees work in the factory, and according to an interview Brian Kennedy did with the Los Angeles Times in 2015, around 80% of the workforce is Latino. And according to the Trump campaign, all employees are verified U.S. citizens. We didn't speak to any employees during our shoot. But in 2015, MSNBC visited the factory and reporter Jacob Soboroff spoke to some of the workers.
Jacob Soboroff: When you heard that Trump, you're gonna make the hats for Trump, what was the first thought that went through your mind?
Cali-Fame Employee: Well, more work for us.
Jacob Soboroff: Some of the stuff that he's said, it's not been particularly nice to the Latino community. When you guys hear some of that stuff, what do you think?
Cali-Fame Employee: I just try to ignore it.
Narrator: Making the hats requires a 23-step process, much of which is done by hand.
Brian Kennedy: So the way we manufacture the hat, the first process is spreading material. We take it right to the embroidery machine, and then from embroidery we're taking it right to the sewing operation where we're creating both the bill and the crown separately, so that eventually we put these two parts together by attaching the sweatband, finishing it with the plastic strap that's made in the U.S. Then we steam the hat, press the hat, and we also finish the cord and glue that down before we pack the hat.
Narrator: The hats are shipped to the headquarters of Ace Specialties in Lafayette, Louisiana. Ace is the Trump campaign's official merchandise distributor, and the company fulfills all orders from the Trump campaign's website. According to the Trump campaign, hundreds of thousands of MAGA hats have been sold since Trump's campaign began.
Brian Kennedy: We are one of the few American companies left making hats. There is a need, a niche, for that American product, and that's what we've been really striving for the last couple of years. It's an incredible opportunity to make this hat for the President of the United States. I think that this hat is an icon for what is going on in the country and we're really happy to make the hat for the president. Hopefully we can keep this going.

Why no aquarium has a great white shark
Many have tried to keep a white shark in captivity. Here's why that's so difficult.
There are several aquariums around the world, including one in Georgia, that house whale sharks, the biggest fish in the sea. But not one has a great white shark on display.
Aquariums have made dozens of attempts since the 1970s to display a captive great white shark. Most of those attempts ended with dead sharks.
By the 2000s, the only group still trying was the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which spent a decade planning its white shark program. In 2004, it acquired a shark that became the first great white to survive in captivity for more than 16 days. In fact, it was on display for more than six months before it was released back into the ocean.
In the following years, the Monterey Bay Aquarium hosted five more juvenile white sharks for temporary stays before ending the program in 2011. It was an expensive effort and had come under criticism due to injuries that some of the sharks developed in the tank.
Responding to those critics, Jon Hoech, the aquarium's director of husbandry operations, said: We believe strongly that putting people face to face with live animals like this is very significant in inspiring ocean conservation and connecting people to the ocean environment. We feel like white sharks face a significant threats out in the wild and our ability to bring awareness to that is significant in terms of encouraging people to become ocean stewards.
Check out the video above to learn why white sharks are so difficult to keep in captivity and how the Monterey Bay Aquarium designed a program that could keep them alive.
