The Den (Storybook Glen)

The Den formerly Storybook Glen is a fairytale paradise situated 6 miles west of Aberdeen. Started in the 1980s after the owner saw something similar in Canada it's a childhood time capsule. The concept is pretty simple - it's a park full of statues of storybook characters. They run the gamut from classic to modern - from Wee Willie Winkie to Tinky Winky. Over 28 acres there are more than 100 characters scattered randomly throughout the park in a way that turns an amble into a journey of adventure. Some of the statues are in plain view, others are hidden along secret pathways so you never know who is going to loom at you out of a bush.

The historic highland fermtoun or settlement at Auchtavan, Glen Fearder in Deeside, Scotland
The settlement at Auchtavan in Glen Fearder near Crathie in the Cairngorms National Park, is a rare survival of a traditional Highland clachan or fermtoun. Abandoned at the end of the 19th century, the glen originally had three townships, but all that remains of Ratlich & Loine are stones, but at Auchtavan, one cottage and the horsemill survive and were restored in 2008 by Braemar Community Limited.
The horsemill remains open for those who wish to visit, but the rare hingin lum cottage and Victorian picnic cottage are only open on a few days each year for people to get a glimpse of these historic buildings. The music with this film is called Farewell to the King written & performed by Paul Anderson from nearby Tarland.

That was an amazing journey in Scotland. Where we been it's in Aberdeen city , and the park name is den and glen ..
When you visit .. they will charge each 7 pound something but under 2 and infant they dknt charge anything they have farm aswell with real animals .. am sure guys if you have kids and you been in Aberdeen must visit ...

Clachnaben is a 1932ft hill near Glen Dye, Aberdeenshire.
We hiked to the top in approximately 90mins, reaching the granite tor and the trig point marking the top! If you look closely you might even spot Bennachie from up there :)

The Glen Cinema Disaster
On Hogmanay 1929, 71 children died in Britains worst cinema disaster. Buried behind the walls of a furniture shop in Paisleys town centre the Glen Cinema and its tragic story have been rediscovered.
As the town commemorates the disaster, for the first time in 75 years, survivors and witnesses recall the horror they were told to forget.
Commissioned for BBC Scotlands EX:S, The Glen Cinema Disaster mixes dramatic reconstruction, archive footage and emotional witness testimony.
