R-So. QB Matt Soltes broke his own school record for completion percentage, going 29-for-34 (85.3%) for 444 yards and four touchdowns, to lead East Stroudsburg University to a 48-28 win over Clarion in PSAC crossover football on Saturday night at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
Soltes guided an offense that rolled up 692 yards, sixth-most in school history, and tied a school record with 36 first downs. He also broke a school record with 173 consecutive passes without an interception, breaking the mark of 170 held by Jimmy Terwilliger (2005-06). Soltes has thrown for 15 touchdowns and one interception through five games for ESU (4-1).
R-Fr. TB Robert Healy ran for 132 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. R-Sr. WR Robert Bleiler (8 catches, 130 yards, 2 TD), R-So. WR Jon Schnaars (9 catches, 124 yards), R-Sr. FB Thomas Tippett (5 catches, 78 yards, 1 TD) and R-Jr. TE Steven Jones (4 catches, 77 yards, 1 TD) were Soltes' top targets.
The Warriors limited Clarion to 377 yards, with two of the Golden Eagles' four touchdowns coming in the fourth quarter.

ISHAA hands down sanctions after brawl
Two assistant coaches have been suspended for the remainder of the 2013 season for their involvement in a bench-clearing brawl at a high school football game. Several players from both schools, and the two head coaches, will serve a one-game suspension.

Dawn Strunk '93 M'02
Strunk was selected to the College Field Hockey Coaches' Association Division II All-America first team at goalkeeper as a senior in 1993 as part of her career as a two-sport athlete. She was a three-year starting goalkeeper in field hockey and three-year letterwinner in lacrosse, playing goalkeeper as a sophomore in 1991 and in the field her final two seasons.
In field hockey, Strunk was the backstop for teams that won 31 games over three seasons, advanced to the PSAC Tournament in 1991 and took the 1993 ECAC championship. She ranks second at ESU in career saves (599) and fourth in shutouts (15) and minutes played (4159). She set a school record with 224 saves as a sophomore, which currently ranks second overall, and was named to the All-PSAC first team. She allowed just 1.15 goals per game and had seven shutouts and a .889 save percentage in her All-America season in 1993. Strunk scored 20 goals and had seven assists in her lacrosse career.
After graduation, Strunk has held several coaching positions, including head field hockey and lacrosse coach at Montclair State from 1998-01, head lacrosse coach at LIU-Brooklyn from 2002-04, and head lacrosse coach and assistant field hockey coach at Bloomsburg from 2004-06. She began her coaching career as lacrosse and field hockey coach at UC-Santa Barbara, then was a recruiting coordinator for both sports at Mercyhurst before assisting ESU head field hockey and lacrosse coach Sandy Miller as a graduate assistant.
She completed her Master's degree in Health and Physical Education from ESU in 2002, and has also worked as a personal trainer and sports performance coach in Martinsville, New Jersey, and Villanova and Hazleton, Pennsylvania. She is a native of Pottstown and currently resides in Wilkes-Barre.

Mr. Thierry Chaney wrestled for The College of William and Mary in the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association aka EIWA Championships held at Syracuse University on March 4th and 5th, 1988. En route to his title he defeated Jim Frick of Lehigh University and was named the tournament’s most outstanding wrestler.
ESU Baseball Senior Day 5-4-13
East Stroudsburg University will enter its third PSAC Baseball Tournament in four seasons as the No. 3 seed in the PSAC East after the Warriors split this weekend's series with No. 20-ranked Millersville, falling 3-2 and 6-3 in Saturday's doubleheader at Mitterling Field.
ESU (29-16, 13-11) had the tying run on third base in the opener, and got the tying run to the plate in the nightcap, but Millersville (36-14, 18-6) was able to secure the PSAC East regular season title with its win in game one.
