Top 5 Football Fans - United Kingdom
5 - West Ham United FC
The team's supporters are famous for their rendition of the chorus of their team's anthem, I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles introduced to the club by former manager Charlie Paynter in the late 1920s. The origins of West Ham's links with organised football-related violence starts in the 1960s with the establishment of The Mile End Mob (named after an area of the East End of London). During the 1970s and '80s (the main era for organised football-related violence), West Ham gained further notoriety for the levels of hooliganism in their fan base and antagonistic behaviour towards both their own and rival fans, and the police.
4 - Liverpool FC
Liverpool is one of the best supported clubs in the world. The club states that its worldwide fan base includes more than 200 officially recognised Club of the LFC Official Supporters Clubs in at least 50 countries. Notable groups include Spirit of Shankly. The club takes advantage of this support through its worldwide summer tours, which has included playing in front of 101,000 in Michigan, U.S., and 95,000 in Melbourne, Australia.Liverpool fans often refer to themselves as Kopites, a reference to the fans who once stood, and now sit, on the Kop at Anfield. The song You'll Never Walk Alone, originally from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel and later recorded by Liverpool musicians Gerry and the Pacemakers, is the club's anthem and has been sung by the Anfield crowd since the early 1960s.
3 - Crystal Palace FC
Crystal Palace have a fan base drawn predominantly from the local area which draws on South London, Kent, and Surrey. Their original home, at The Crystal Palace, was on the boundary with Kent, while Selhurst Park was within Surrey's borders until the London Government Act 1963 saw Greater London encompass Croydon. The club's passionate support at home games emanates from the Holmesdale Road Stand, in which the ultras group the Holmesdale Fanatics have been based since 2005.
2 - Rangers FC
Rangers Football Club is a Scottish football club based in the city of Glasgow. The club's fans are often known as 'Bears', derived from the team's nickname, the Teddy Bears and also Bluenoses, referring to the teams colours. Numerous fan magazines, blogs and supporters' websites are dedicated to the club and the fans have a famous long-standing rivalry with Celtic, the two Glasgow giants collectively known as The Old Firm.
1 - Celtic FC
The Celtic Football Club are a professional football club based in Glasgow, Scotland, which plays in the Scottish Premiership. The club was founded in 1887 with the purpose of alleviating poverty in the immigrant Irish population in the East End of Glasgow.
The Green Brigade are a Celtic F.C. supporter ultra group formed in 2006.

London and Paris Vacation - Traveling Robert
This is a chronicle of our trip to London and Paris in the spring of 2015. We stay in Greenwich just to east of London, visit several other places in England such as Windsor, Bath and Stonehenge. Also see all the major Paris tourist attractions including a cruise on the Seine River except for the Louvre Museum. It is still a great Paris Travel Guide for a first timer.

The Falkirk Wheel (boat lift)
The Falkirk Wheel is the only rotating boat lift in the world. An amazing piece of engineering which links the Union Canal with the Forth and Clyde Canal.
Historically, the two canals had been joined at Falkirk by a flight of 11 locks that stepped down across a distance of 1.5km, but these had been dismantled in 1933, breaking the link.
The boat here is lifted from the canal basin beside the Forth and Clyde canal up to the aqueduct, before going through the 160m/1095ft Rough Castle tunnel to the Union Canal.
Wheel rotate sequence speeded up by x2 as lift takes 5 minutes!
The Falkirk Wheel was opened by the Queen in May 2002, and is now one of Scotlands most popular tourist attractions.
The wheel has an overall diameter of 35 metres (115 ft) and consists of two opposing arms which extend 15 metres beyond the central axle and take the shape of a Celtic-inspired, double-headed axe. Two sets of these axe-shaped arms are attached about 25 metres (82 ft) apart to a 3.5 metres (11 ft) diameter axle. Two diametrically opposed water-filled caissons, each with a capacity of 80,000 gallons, are fitted between the ends of the arms.
These caissons (also known as gondolas) always weigh the same whether or not they are carrying their combined capacity of 600 tonnes of floating canal barges as, according to Archimedes' principle, floating objects displace their own weight in water, so when the boat enters, the amount of water leaving the caisson weighs exactly the same as the boat. This keeps the wheel balanced and so, despite its enormous mass, it rotates through 180° in five and a half minutes while using very little power. It takes just 22.5 kilowatts (30.2 hp) to power the electric motors, which consume just 1.5 kilowatt-hours (5.4 MJ) of energy in four minutes, roughly the same as boiling eight kettles of water.

The Channel Tunnel Documentary
This #Engineering Documentary details the design and construction of the one of the boldest engineering challenge undertaken. The Channel Tunnel is a 50 km rail link running beneath the English Channel, connecting The UK and France at Folkestone, Kent and Coquelles, Pas-de-Calais respectively.
The tunnel began construction in 1988 with the tunnel being dug simultaneously from France and Britain with 11 massive Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM’s). Approximately 20 million passengers are ferried through the tunnel every year with a travel time of about 35 minutes.
Tunnelling was a major engineering challenge, it being the second such project in the world to be undertaken after the undersea Seikan Tunnel in Japan. Due to the pressure from the sea above, a serious water inflow risk to the tunnel existed. Also being privately funded, the tunnel was under tremendous time constraint since early return of investment was paramount.
The tunnel project operational model was known as a build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) project with a concession. BOOT projects typically involve significant design and construction as well as long term operations. TransManche Link (TML) would design and build the tunnel, but financing was through a separate legal entity, Eurotunnel. Eurotunnel acquired Channel Tunnel Group (CTG) and France Manche (FM) and signed a construction contract with TML, but the French and British governments controlled the engineering and safety aspects, now being the responsibility of the Channel Tunnel Safety Authority. The British and French governments gave Eurotunnel a 55-year operating concession (from 1987 to 2052) in order to repay loans and pay dividends. A Railway Usage Agreement guaranteeing future revenue was signed between British Rail , Eurotunnel, and SNCF in exchange for the railways obtaining half of the tunnel's capacity.
Power is delivered to the locomotives via an overhead line at 25 kV 50 Hz. All tunnel services run on electricity, shared equally from English and French sources. There are two sub-stations fed at 400 kV at each terminal, but in an emergency the tunnel's lighting (about 20,000 light fittings) and plant can be powered solely from either England or France.
The project was not without incident however, with ten workers being killed, eight of them British, most in the first few months of construction. There were also fire incidents breaking out in the years 1996, 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2015.
Despite all these challenges and budget overruns, the Channel Tunnel was finally completed in 1994 at a cost of $8.4 billion from the original planned $4.7 billion. The completed project was opened by Queen Elizabeth II and French President François Mitterrand on May 6 1994.

A 360 degree look around the 200mph Dendrobium D-1 electric hypercar
Here's our video from the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where we take a look around the Dendrobium D-1 electric supercar. The Dendrobium hits 60 mph in 2.7 seconds and can reach over 200 mph.
The Dendrobium D-1 electric hypercar concept originally debuted at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show with a futuristic design and promises of insane performance. After going quiet for a while, the automaker now announces plans to build a production version in the United Kingdom, and the firm claims that the machine makes an unfathomable 1,800 bhp and 1,475 pound-feet of torque.
It was the first time I saw this very cool hypercar at Goodwood, here's our look around it.

British Airways First Class - Singapore to Sydney (BA 15) - Boeing 777-300ER
In this trip report, we take a look at the continuation of my British Airways First Class flight from Singapore to Sydney on board a Boeing 777-300ER.
After BA 15 from London touches down in Singapore, guests are invited to the BA Lounge to relax while the aircraft refuels for the next leg of the journey. BA First Class guests have access to The Bar - Singapore, which is a private and exclusive part of the lounge.
After reboarding the aircraft, I take a quick look at the BA First Class product. The cabin on the B777-300ER has 14 First Class open suites arranged in a 1-2-1 pattern. Prior to take off, the open suite is reviewed in detail – seat positions, foot rest, IFE, reading light, dining table, storage closet, electrical sockets, privacy dividers, etc.
During the flight, First Class guests are spoiled by a dine-anytime menu which means I can eat what I want whenever I want. Shortly after take-off I enjoy drinks & canapes, followed by a 3 course dinner. The fine-dining experience includes elegantly-designed elegantly-designed crockery by William Edwards, luxury cutlery by Studio Williams and stylish glassware by Dartington Crystal.
The 6ft 6in lie-flat First Class bed is also reviewed in this video. The bed is prepared with a foam & microfibre mattress topper, plush oversized pillows, and a crisp white cotton duvet. First Class passengers are also offered luxury amenity kits and pyjamas by Temperley London.
Prior to landing in Sydney, First Class guests can order a full breakfast.
After landing, I get priority clearance through immigration and customs, and my priority-tagged bags are soon out on the carousel.
