The Fairy Pools in Isle of Skye, Scotland! (Sony RX100IV, Slog2)
During our roadtrip around Scotland, we decided to visit the Fairy Pools in the Isle of Skye. It is found at the foot of the Black Cuillins near Glenbrittle.
These 'pools' are popular for taking dips especially in Summer when the surrounding flora is lush and vibrant. Since we went there in Winter, it was a better idea to stay dry!
The pools however are beautifully clear and blue all year round!

The journey to the fairy pool | Isle of Skye | Scotland
During our roadtrip around Scotland, we decided to visit the Fairy Pools in the Isle of Skye. It is found at the foot of the Black Cuillins near Glenbrittle.
In the middle of beautiful green scenery of Glen Britt valley in the Isle of Skye, the River Brittle has created small crystal clear water pools. This place is truly magical as well as it’s name – the Fairy Pools. Fairy Pools are the first place we visited during our stay on the incredible Isle of Skye in Scotland.
These 'pools' are popular for taking dips especially in Summer when the surrounding flora is lush and vibrant.
The pools however are beautifully clear and blue all year round!

April 2019. Fairy Pools at Glen Brittle, Isle of Skye in Scotland. I highly recommend this hike. Even though the water flow was low, I found two very pretty 30 ft. high waterfalls. It is a very fascinating area, complete with much wildlife (sheep, LOL). I then hiked to beautiful 130 ft. high Eas Mor Falls nearby. We have some bonus waterfalls as well. Please watch!

FAIRY GLEN, ISLE OF SKYE, SCOTLAND
The Isle of Skye on Scotlands west coast has a long history involving the Fairys, most of which is related to Dunvegan Castle and their ‘Fairy Flag’.
The Fairy Glen is positioned on the north west coast of Skye.
The Fairy Glen much like the Fairy Pools in Glenbrittle has no real legends or stories involving fairys that can be traced.
The simple fact that the location is unusual so it has been given the nickname Fairy Glen.
The natural rock formations, cone-shaped hills dotted with ponds and scattered waterfalls are all within one small area, making it seem as though it’s the shrunken version of a large-scale geological wonder.
One of the hills still has its basalt topping intact which, from a distance, looks like a ruin and has been called Castle Ewan.
It is possible to climb to the top where there is not much room, but does have wonderful views over the surrounding countryside.
In the low cliff behind Castle Ewan there is a very small cave where it has been said pressing coins into cracks in the rock will bring Good Luck.

Nie wyobrażamy sobie ominąć Fairy Pools i podróży do tak zwanej Rynny(ogromna szczelina w jednej z gór Cullins) będąc na Wyspie Skye.
Pod samą górą trzeba zaliczyć małą wspinaczkę jednak jednak nie jest ona jakoś bardzo skomplikowana.
Oczywiście jest możliwość wspinania się na wyższe partie gór Cullins jednak tutaj wymagany jest profesjonalny sprzęt i doświadczenie.
Uwielbiamy to miejsce poza sezonem! Dlaczego? Bo Fairy Pools to dość popularna atrakcja turystyczna na wyspie, a zimą nie ma tutaj prawie nikogo!
Zawsze, na tej ogromnej przestrzeni jesteśmy sami co pozwala na głębokie wczucie się w to miejsce! Krajobrazy oraz energia jaka tutaj panuje w tym czasie to coś niesamowitego!

Fairy Pools, to kolejne magiczne miejsce na wyspie Skye, które według legend, podobnie jak pobliskie Fairy Glen zamieszkiwane było przez wróżki.
Krajobraz, mimo że skalą przypomina ten w Fairy Glen, różni się dość znacząco.
Znajdziemy tutaj długą, około siedmio kilometrową ścieżkę, która ciągnie się wzdłuż rzeki udekorowanej różnej wielkości wodospadami, z których najwyższy ma około 10 metrów oraz miniaturowymi jeziorkami z krystalicznie czystą wodą, w których to wróżki miały zażywać swoich kąpieli.
Mimo, że woda jest wręcz lodowata, nie zniechęca to przyjezdnych przed skorzystaniem z okazji aby się w niej zanurzyć - oczywiście w cieplejszych miesiącach roku.
Podróże po górach Cullins to nie tylko miło spędzony czas na podróżowaniu po tych pięknych górach ale także przepiękne widoki na otaczające doliny!
Liczne źródła wypływające z gór Cullins łączą się w jedną rzekę zwaną Brittle, która po około dziesięciu kilometrach wpływa do zatoki Loch Brittle na południu wyspy Skye.
Tutejszy krajobraz jest jak żywcem wyciągnięty z powieści Tolkiena, dzięki niemal baśniowym widokom oraz nastrojowym miejscom, w których możemy usiąść, podziwiać otaczającą nas naturę i zanurzyć się we własnych myślach.
Historycznie, Fairy Pools także nie jest bez znaczenia. Miała tutaj bowiem miejsce ostatnia w historii bitwa dominujących w ówczesnych czasach klanów rządzących wyspą Skye, Klany które się starły u podnóża tych gór to MacDonalds i MacLeods.
W czasach wiktoriańskich, wielu wspinaczy wysokogórskich próbowało zdobyć szczyt Rynny ale dopiero w roku 1895 udało się to dwóm z nich.
Przy pierwszej wizycie zlekceważyliśmy naturę, błędnie zakładając, że ścieżka jest łatwa i sucha, co zaowocowało odciskami na stopach oraz przemoczonymi skarpetkami.
Jeśli planujecie wspinaczkę w wyższe partie doliny, polecamy wyposażyć się w mocne górskie buty, przekąski oraz napoje, ponieważ mimo, że odległość nie jest duża, pójdziecie o wiele dłużej niż może się Wam wydawać.
Jeśli zapowiada się na deszcz, warto przełożyć wizytę w Fairy Pools na inny dzień, to samo tyczy się dotarcia na miejsce późnym popołudniem kiedy słońce chyli się ku zachodowi.
Aby w pełni cieszyć się pięknem tego miejsca i zapamiętać je jako mistyczne, warto przeznaczyć na nie cały dzień i zanurzyć się w wędrówkach wzdłuż gór.
Przed przyjazdem tutaj, znaleźliśmy kilka opinii odwiedzających, którzy skarżyli się, że Fairy Pools nie dorównuje wyglądem robionym tutaj zdjęciom dostępnym w internecie. Jadąc tutaj musimy pamiętać, że miejsce to stworzone jest przez naturę i ma do zaoferowania tylko to co przez tysiące lat się tutaj ukształtowało.
W dzisiejszych czasach, zwiedzając nowe miejsca oczekujemy laserów i fajerwerków zapominając o tym, że czasem potrzebujemy tylko trochę wyobraźni aby zobaczyć piękno miejsca, które mogło być domem dla wróżek.
Dolina Fairy Pools leży u stóp gór Cullins, które swoim imponującym i niespotykanym wyglądem przypominają krajobrazy z legend i baśni.
Fairy Pools to miejsce definitywnie warte odwiedzenia.
My byliśmy tutaj dwa razy i za każdym razem odkrywaliśmy je na nowo oraz zauważyliśmy coś czego nie widzieliśmy poprzednio.
Podróże w to miejsce zawsze dostarczają nam wielu wrażeń i pięknych wspomnień.
Jeśli wybieracie się na wyspę Skye, definitywnie powinniście dodać to miejsce to swojej listy atrakcji, przygotujcie się jednak na długi spacer i zabierzcie mocne, nieprzemakalne lecz wygodne buty.

We have been to the Isle of Skye on three separate occasions spread between the months of January, March, and April, therefore giving us the opportunity to do many things on Skye.
A couple of the most memorable experiences were hiking The Old Man of Storr, hiking The Quiraing, seeing the northern lights near Fairy Pools, and experiencing the strongest wind ever at Duntulum Castle!
We feel that the Isle of Skye is one of the most spectacular places on this planet, but the weather can be very temperamental, as you can see in our Isle of Skye Video! Even with visiting this highlands isle as many times as us, we were still confronted with extreme wind and rain each time--it's basically inevitable in Scotland!
So no matter what time of year you go, expect a little bit of the Scottish weather but don't worry, it's actually quite fun! The only advice we can give you on the time of year to go is that the summer is peak season and they titrate the number of people they allow onto the island if you are a tourist! So look at going in the shoulder seasons or book your accommodations well in advance and leave early to beat the traffic on those narrow Scottish Isle of Skye roads!

The Isle of Skye, connected to Scotland's northwest coast by bridge, is known for its rugged landscapes, picturesque fishing villages and medieval castles. The largest island in the Inner Hebrides archipelago, it has an indented coastline of peninsulas and narrow lochs, radiating out from a mountainous interior. The town of Portree, a base for exploring the island, features harbourside pubs and boutiques.
Isle of Skye is the largest and northernmost of the major islands in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. The island's peninsulas radiate from a mountainous centre dominated by the Cuillins, the rocky slopes of which provide some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in the country. Although it has been suggested that the Gaelic Sgitheanach describes a winged shape there is no definitive agreement as to the name's origins.
The main industries are tourism, agriculture, fishing and forestry. Skye is part of the Highland Council local government area. The island's largest settlement is Portree, known for its picturesque harbour. There are links to various nearby islands by ferry and, since 1995, to the mainland by a road bridge. The climate is mild, wet and windy. The abundant wildlife includes the golden eagle, red deer and Atlantic salmon. The local flora are dominated by heather moor, and there are nationally important invertebrate populations on the surrounding sea bed. Skye has provided the locations for various novels and feature films and is celebrated in poetry and song.
Portree in the north at the base of Trotternish is the largest settlement and is the main service centre on the island. Broadford, the location of the island's only airstrip, is on the east side of the island and Dunvegan in the north-west is well known for its castle and the nearby Three Chimneys restaurant. The 18th-century Stein Inn on the Waternish coast is the oldest pub on Skye. Kyleakin is linked to Kyle of Lochalsh on the mainland by the Skye Bridge, which spans the narrows of Loch Alsh. Uig, the port for ferries to the Outer Hebrides, is on the west of the Trotternish peninsula and Edinbane is between Dunvegan and Portree. Much of the rest of the population lives in crofting townships scattered around the coastline.
Skye is linked to the mainland by the Skye Bridge, while ferries sail from Armadale on the island to Mallaig, and from Kylerhea to Glenelg. Ferries also run from Uig to Tarbert on Harris and Lochmaddy on North Uist, and from Sconser to Raasay. The Isle of Skye Airfield at Ashaig, near Broadford, is used by private aircraft and occasionally by NHS Highland and the Scottish Ambulance Service for transferring patients to hospitals on the mainland.

In this episode, we explore the Fairy Pools of the Isle of Skye in Scotland. Located near the Glen Brittle Forest in the Southwestern part of the island, the Fairy Pools are a series of waterfalls and pools with a great little hiking path along the way. According to tripadvisor.com, it can be quite crowded depending on the time of year. It was beautiful when we were there in September and here were very few people around. Some people take the time to enjoy a dip in the pools even in the colder months. We, however, did not hazard a cold swim. If you get the chance to go, the Fairy Pools are a great first stop on a trip through the Isle of Skye.

Isle Of Skye Landscape Photography Part 2 - Old Man Of Storr and Fairy Pools + Drone Footage
Part 2 of my Landscape Photography trip to the Isle of Skye in October 2016. This video we leave the Quiraing and head to Glen Brittle to the Fairy Pools via a brief stop at The Old Man Of Storr.
