MEET COREY!
Corey Stewart is the At-Large Chairman of Prince William County (PWC) - the 2nd largest and fastest growing county in Virginia. Since taking office, he has been one of Virginia’s strongest voices in the fight against illegal immigration, protecting the 2nd Amendment, and fostering pro-growth economic policies making his county a top-ranked county for job growth in the Commonwealth.
Corey is best known for implementing the nation’s toughest crackdown on illegal immigration resulting in Prince William turning over approximately 8000 criminal illegal immigrants to the U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, leading to a 48.7% drop in violent crime. Corey is a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment. He led the charge to remove all county fees associated with the concealed carry permit -- the first locality in Virginia to do so.
Under Corey’s leadership, Prince William County has kept taxes and spending low, leading to $205 million in savings for Prince William residents. During his tenure, PWC was upgraded to a AAA bond rating status -- one of only 36 such jurisdictions in the nation. He led PWC to be ranked the #1 locality in job growth in Virginia and the #3 locality for job growth in the nation.
Corey successfully navigated the passage of the largest tax cut in the history of the county leading to a 30% lower tax bill than any other county in Northern Virginia. And, small business is a priority for Corey - cutting in half the time to permit a business.
Corey was tapped by Donald Trump to lead his campaign in Virginia and was the first and only Republican gubernatorial candidate to support Trump before Convention.
Corey Stewart has won 4 times in a diverse county in Northern Virginia without backing down from his conservative principles. He is the only countywide elected Republican in Northern Virginia.
When faced with enormous pressure from the mainstream media and Republican establishment, Corey stuck to his guns and led the toughest crackdown on illegal immigration in the nation. As Governor, Corey Stewart will never back down to pressure from lobbyists, special interest, the media, or even people within his own party.
Corey was born in Minnesota, to a working class family. Corey’s father worked his whole life as a longshoreman and instilled in him a hard work ethic at an early age. When Corey received his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, he was the first member of his family to graduate from college. Corey then earned his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in Saint Paul Minnesota where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Corey now works as an International Trade Attorney with his own practice.
Corey and his wife of 20 years, Maria, reside in Woodbridge, VA, with their two sons Isaac and Luke. Corey is 100% pro-life and he and his family are parishioners at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Woodbridge.
Elk Sighting Becoming More Common in Maggie Va
HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. -- A wildlife attraction in Maggie Valley is attracting some unwanted visitors.
Stephen Penfield says most nights he can see elk wandering around in his backyard as well as tourists.
Penfield says that tourists will park nearby and will come into his yard to see the animals. The tourists leave souvenirs in his yard once they leave.
We get a bunch of visitors, they park over there at the gas station and walk across, Penfield explained. And when they leave, I have to pick up beer cans, chip bags and stuff like that.
Penfield also says he's concerned about the tourists spooking the elk and causing them to run into the road.
State wildlife officials say elk sightings are more common this time of year as they forage for food.

Civil War Reenactment - 155th Anniversary of The Battle of Tunnel Hill
The Battle of Tunnel Hill 26th annual Civil War reenactment in Tunnel Hill, Georgia, was an absolute smash! Hosted at the beautiful Tunnel Hill Heritage Center, on September 6-8, 2019, the Battle of Tunnel Hill was a smorgasbord of history and fun! With live reenactors on the battlefield and huge cannon blasts every 5 minutes or so, you’ll find yourself singing Dixie and cheering your troops on in no time.
“I have fought against the people of the North because I believed they were seeking to wrest from the South its dearest rights. But I have never cherished toward them bitter or vindictive feelings, and I have never seen the day when I did not pray for them.” Robert E. Lee
To say the Civil War had a lasting impression on the United States of America would be a tremendous understatement! For many, the American Civil War took their loved ones, their homes, their farms, their livelihood. Yet, God was merciful to our young nation and poured his grace upon our land, He gave forgiveness to the bitter, hope to the hopeless, humility to the proud.
Dwelling on past wrongs and oppressions is not easy, but as Maya Angelou put it,“History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again.” We must never forget history, but must always look to it as the schoolmaster of life.
If you ever get the chance, make sure to check out Ole’ Doc Bell’s birch beer!
Thanks to the Tunnel Hill Historical Foundation for putting on this wonderful event! They do such an awesome job!
Special thanks to my incredible second shooter, Ryan Madaris. This project could not have happened without his diligent help! Check out some of his awesome content here:
Also, some epic voice jobs done by Jonathan Cochran (as Robert E. Lee) & Jason Cochran (as Abraham Lincoln). Check them out here:

Harambee 360 Black Arts Festival Fredericksburg Va, FredericksburgLIVE.com
If you don't know, learn; If you know, teach!
Harambee 360° Experimental Theater, Inc. was founded in 1972 by Clarence Todd at first to educate and introduce area youth to the fine arts as well as provide them an outlet to display their talent. The name Harambee was derived from a Swahili word which means, Let us pull together. Historically, Harambee 360° came at a time when desegregation left creative youth struggling for an outlet. With theater as its primary focus, these youth found an outlet.
During the late 1970's and 80's, Harambee 360° sponsored the Black Arts Festival, Miss Black Teenage World of Fredericksburg Pageants, and Black History Month programs. Since 1990, the organization expanded its efforts by supporting to The Partnership for Academic Excellence program and by sponsoring trips to the National Black Theater Festival in Winston-Salem, NC for area youth.

Merchant Blender Pleasuredome Rye Whiskey
In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
A stately pleasure-dome decree
Our latest Merchant Blender release, affectionately titled Pleasuredome employs the most expensive oak regimen we've ever seen in a whiskey release. Expertly crafted by the Huber family in Starlight Indiana, a total of only 6 barrels were used to create this unique blend. Four barrels from the famed French/Napa barrel maker Seguin Moreau charred from 1 thru 4 providing the most broad spectrum of char to liquid interaction. While normal bourbon barrels run $100-$150 each, the average Seguin Moreau barrel starts at about $1200. Added to these four barrels, are 2 Independent Stave barrels which have been air-dried for two whole years, prior to receiving a Number 4+ Distillers Char bringing out the very naturally mellowed wood sugars. We then took these 6 barrels and finished them for an additional 60 days in freshly dumped Starlight brandy barrels adding a sweetness to the already highly spiced 85% rye base recipe. Everything bottled at Cask Strength,109 proof and non-chill filtered. The care, time, and attention to detail and pedigree of this whiskey is unmatched by big national brands. ONLY by working with an artisan with access to several more expensive and ONE OFF barrels is a project like Merchant Blender PLEASUREDOME even possible.
The nose is a miracle of oak influenced spice. Reminiscent of jasmine tea, fall leaves, apple wood, and a touch of molasses. On the palate, the full weight of the brown sugar lands first. If there was ever to be an Umami flavor identified specifically for whiskey, this would be it. It's a combination of sweet vanilla, dark pot still rum funk, and mouth weight, which the finishing brandy contributed to perfectly. The big sugars are then followed swiftly by sharp rye spice, chewable a full 60 seconds afterward. Make no mistake, this is as REAL and as CRAFT as it gets. Every ounce of distillate made on a small Indiana farm. Loaded in the most precious and expensive barrels money can buy, not because its the most profitable decision, but simply because these guys LOVE whiskey.

Family-owned Charter Oak Winery remains small to be successful. HLN's Joe Carter has their small business success story.

Gannonball Run soapbox race 2008 - Dungannon
Video footage from the gannonball Run 2008 soapbox race which took place at market Square, Dungannon in August 2008.
In the current economic climate most towns in the province are doom and gloom, Dungannon is thinking zoom and vroom.
The second Gannonball Run soapbox race is to be run again in the town on the 31st August Bank Holiday. Dungannon hosted the breath taking, action packed town centre event last year and this year it is expected to be bigger and better.
The Gannon Ball Run will see soap box carts scuttle from Castle Hill down a ½ km specially made track, dropping down through Market Square and finally ending up at the bottom of Church street.
Whether you are an adrenaline junkie or just enjoy a bit of DIY then you may be crazy enough to race down the centre of Dungannon in your own home-made soap box racer. Last year the PSNI recorded soapboxes exceeding 25mph at the steepest stages of the race track!! Teams will have the opportunity to race their soapboxes down the track four times throughout the day.
Mayor The Lord Morrow MLA of Clogher Valley is looking forward to an exciting closure to Dungannons summer events programme. He said:
Dungannon has once again presented the community with a wide range of diverse and exciting summer events which include sporting and arts activities for all ages. We are delighted to welcome back the Gannonball Run after its massive success last year. It is a fitting to close the summer months and I wish all of the organisers and participants the best of luck with this unique event.
Councillor Walter Cuddy, Chairman of Dungannon Regeneration Partnership (DRP) and the organising commitee believes this event is perfectly suited to the geographic layout of Dungannons Market Square:
Dungannons natural hilltop layout makes it an ideal arena for a race of this kind and we are expecting over 50 soapbox entries from local businesses private groups and local community groups. The Department of Social Development, through the Neighborhood Renewal Programme have agreed in principal to support 8 local residential groups to build and enter their own soapboxes
The event is organised by Dungannon Regeneration Partnership (DRP) in association with Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council, Dungannon Enterprise Centre, Dungannon Motor Club, Dungannon & District Motorcycling Club, First Wave Design, South West College and B.E.A.M.
