One woman, a former member of the sect, shares her experience and explains how her new faith has torn her family apart.

Becoming a Russian Walrus in KAZAN | Trans-Siberian Railway
In this episode of our Russia travel vlog series riding the Trans Siberian Railway, we arrive in the Capital of Tartarstan, Kazan!

On this leg of our great trip across Russia, we stop at The Blue Lake, a freezing pit of freshwater. Here, we learn about the famous Russian Walrus, or морж. These legendary beasts are brave men (or women) who polar dip in freezing water. While there is no snow this time of year, this lake is fed from ground water deep in the earth, and is a constant 5C.
After unthawing, we explore Kazan, and try traditional Tartarstan cuisine. This includes Chak-Chak, a famous dessert (so famous that there is a museum... we went.)
We end the day at the Kazan Kremlin, a beautiful complex featuring one of the nicest mosques I've ever seen.
A bit of a background story. This is a train journey of 10,000 km across Russia, the biggest country in the world. 25 days to visit Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Ulan-Ude, and Vladivostok.

Prince Harry Is Known As Prince Gary In Russia, And It's For A Hilariously Simple Reason
Prince Harry has many royal titles.
When he married Meghan Markle in 2018, he became the Duke of Sussex, and he also uses the title Earl of Dumbarton when he visits Scotland.
Now, however, we can add another title to the list: Prince Gary.
The bizarre name-change has nothing to do with Russian tradition, and it hasn't been written into official royal documentation.
In fact, the reason for the title is much more simple than that.
It's all to do with the Russian alphabet.
The letter H sounds like the letter G, meaning the prince's name will be pronounced as Gary instead of Harry to Russian fans.
Or, if we're being technical about things, Harry could actually be known as Garri, which is short form for Gerasim — the Russian equivalent to Harrold.
The name means respectable and honorable.

My FAVORITE CITY in Russia? | Kazan, Tatarstan
Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia - Our third stop on our journey across the entire country of Russia on the Trans-Siberian Railway is Kazan.
We arrive early on the train from Moscow to Kazan and head straight out to the Blue Lake of Kazan.
We go scuba diving in the Blue Lake and then head back into the city of Kazan, capital of the Republic of Tatarstan for lunch and exploration.
We try traditional Russian and Tatar food and then explore the Kazan Kremlin and bustling Bauman Street in downtown Kazan.
The next morning we take a boat from kazan to the ancient capital of Bolgar, where we visit the old city and go inside the White Mosque.
From there, it was back into Kazan to catch the Trans-Siberian Railway once more - this time, we're heading into the Ural Mountains!

SOT, Victoria, suspect's friend (Russian): In general, he worked on construction sites. I can’t say anything bad about him. He is a calm, level-headed person.
SOT, Victoria, suspect's friend (Russian): I am not really acquainted with his wife. I've seen them several times. I haven't communicated particularly with her. I know that she works as a nurse and that they were going to move to Bashkiria in June. Then he disappeared, I didn't see him and then the news came.

Tula Central Park and Museum, Russia.
Tula Central Park and Museum, Russia. Tula city, Russia .Originally on the site of the park was the city dump. As the city was expanding and the presence of the nearby waste could affect the sanitary condition of the city. The park was established in 1893 when by the initiative Белоусов, Пётр Петрович (врач), who was the health officer of Tula city, the waste was covered with soil and on this place were planted the trees. Thus, Park appeared in southward outskirts of Tula city and had area of 36 ha. Three years later after Park was established in 1886 Tula's gubernia newspaper Vedomosti were writing there was appeared Park-like forest on an area of 35 acres. Central Park was greatly expanded in 1950th when the city-owned land was being allocated an additional more than 100 ha for planting plants. A landscape design of the park has being changed over time. Thus the park of Belousov's time was completed by various trees with dominated the birch and admixtures of oak, linden, ash.

The Central Park was opened on 36 ha of city-owned land and was expanded to its current size of 143 ha of them the forest occupies 97 ha, a cascade of three ponds covers 11 ha and the size of recreational area is about 35 ha. Among some 90 species of the trees and shrubs are growing within the Park there have been dominated by birch, ash tree, oak, pine, maple, basswood, though there are also some rare species such as phellodendron amurense, quercus rubra, pinus sibirica, salix alba, and others. The flora of the Park is characterized by big diversity the herbaceous plants that are represented by 200 species of grasses. Various birds and mammals live in the Central Park. There is a local zoo area that is inhabited many types of birds (including Cygnus cygnus, Cygnus atratus, peafowls, phasianus, parrots, and others). Also in the Park are roes, foxes, goats, and rabbits.
