The haunted theater in Mackinaw Island
So I have wished to go to this since I was a small child. Is it cheesy? Yes but I absolutely loved every second of it. It's hard to see some parts but God it was allot of fun 9/18/18
The Ghosts of Mackinac Island | Ghost Stories, Paranormal, Supernatural, Hauntings, Horror
Mackinac Island to me is one of the most intriguing places I've ever visited. Even as a child, something drew me to the island and called me back time and time again. I wouldn't say it was paranormal, but there was something about it that I couldn't put my finger on.
Located between the upper and lower peninsula of Michigan, Mackinac Island is a tourist hot spot in the summer seasons. In winter, it could very well be the setting for a horror movie like the shining as the population drops off to locals only, with the only way to access the island being a once daily ice-breaking fairy or helicopter.
The massive resorts such as the grand hotel sit empty, with only the maintenance and caretakers roaming the halls... Or could there be others still on the island... not so living people... still walking the halls of these historic resorts and homesteads.
On today's episode of The Grave Talks, we hear several ghost stories, yet just touch the surface of one of the most haunted islands in the world. The Ghosts of Mackinac Island.

Haunted Theatre
Michigan's only Revolutionary War era fort. We are proud to say she has retired from duty and now offers 1880's reenactments for today's visitors. Mackinac State Historic Parks provides fourteen original buildings, canon salutes fired over the harbor, military music, informative films and Mackinac's history that helped to create the American dream. Don't forget to enjoy lunch or dinner at the Tea Room-a Grand Hotel restaurant overlooking the straits.
Haunts of Mackinac
Ghostly happenings on the Island? Some say...indeed. Adventure into the unknown.
Haunted History Tours is based on the success of the bestselling book Haunts of Mackinac. The tour includes some of the stories found in the pages of the book, but adds numerous additional tales and history from locations throughout the downtown area.

Ghosts of Mackinac Island | Live Ghost Tour With Todd Clements
I have always been drawn to the ghosts of Mackinac Island.
I don't know why. It is, to put it lightly, a one of a kind place.
No matter how many times one visits Mackinac Island, they usually walk away with a desire to see more. While it is theorized tens of thousands may call it their final resting place. You will find that just under 500 living souls call this island home on a yearly basis. Yes, the dead truly do outnumber the living on Mackinac Island even during the busy summer tourist season. A season which may be the favored time of the year for the dead to come out an remind the living of their presence on this hallowed piece of ground poking out of Lake Huron.
Over the summer of 2019, I was able to get a first and look at some of the ghosts of Mackinac Island and haunted locations with my tour guide, author and resident paranormal historian of Mackinac Island, Todd Clements.

Who are the children who haunt the Mission House Hotel, and what do the children want today?
What kind of ghosts linger around the property of Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island?

Haunted Weekend on Mackinac Island - Arch Rock Investigation
During the 2013 Haunted Travels of Michigan's annual Haunted Weekend on Mackinac Island, an interesting K2 session occurred near Arch Rock. During the session, it appeared that a young, lost, frightened boy came through. The team attempted a crossover. Here is what happened.
[Wikipedia] Skull Cave (Mackinac Island)
Skull Cave is a small and shallow cave on the central heights of Mackinac Island in Michigan, USA. The cave was carved during the Algonquin post-glacial period by the waters of Lake Algonquin, a swollen meltwater ancestor of today's Lake Huron.
Skull Cave is primarily of interest for its historical associations. It is believed to have been used as an inhumation site by Native Americans of the Straits of Mackinac area in the 18th century.
While in active use as a site for human remains, the cave was also used as a refuge in 1763 by fur trader Alexander Henry, a survivor of the capture of Fort Michilimackinac by Native Americans during Pontiac's War. In his Memoirs, Henry recalled a night spent as a refugee in the bone-strewn cavern.
Henry recalled his ordeal as follows:
On going into the cave, of which the entrance was nearly ten feet wide, I found the further end to be rounded in its shape, like that of an oven, but with a further aperture, too small, however, to be explored. After thus looking around me, I broke small branches from the trees and spread them for a bed, then wrapped myself in my blanket and slept till day-break. On awaking, I felt myself incommoded by some object upon which I lay, and, removing it, found it to be a bone. This I supposed to be that of a deer, or some other animal, and what might very naturally be looked for in the place in which I was; but when daylight visited my chamber I discovered, with some feelings of horror, that I was lying on nothing less than a heap of human bones and skulls, which covered the floor!
Skull Cave is contained within Mackinac Island State Park. It is located 0.4 miles (0.6 km) north of Fort Mackinac in the island's interior. It was designated as a Michigan Historic Site on January 12, 1959, and granted state historical marker #L0004.

Episode 131 - Mackinac Island Hauntings and More
Returning to the paranormal on this installment of 13 O'Clock, Tom and Jenny are drunkenly discussing a haunted location requested by one of our listeners...Michigan's Mackinac Island. This small patch of land located in Lake Huron is like stepping backward in time, as no motorized vehicles are allowed on the island, and all construction must adhere to traditional Victorian architecture. The island also boasts several haunted locations and legends, including Fort Mackinac, the Drowning Pool, the Grand Hotel, and the Mission Point Resort. And since we're not content to contain the ghost stories to just one island, we'll also be delving into some other creepy tales emerging from the Great Lakes, including legends about ghost ships and the cryptid known as South Bay Bessie. Put on your wetsuit and dive into the frigid waters of episode 131.
