Haunted Portland - Shanghai Tunnels (Americ'as Most Haunted)
Take a tour of Shanghai Tunnels - haunted sites in Portland, Oregon.
Old Town Pizza is a landmark in Portland that has been serving tasty pies for many years. Thousands have visited this place from locals to celebrities, including Jay Leno, and Rachael Ray. Many claim this charming restaurant, located in a historic building, is haunted. The ghost of Nina has been seen here, and her presence felt by many.
Wearing a black dress, Nina wanders amongst guest and spends time in the basement. They say sometimes if you are really quiet you can hear her breathing. The restaurant is located in, what used to be a merchant motel and legend has it that Nina was found dead in the hotel. Rumor has it she was pushed to her death down this very elevator shaft and has remained here ever since.
It was a woman in a black dress, who was coming down the stairs, which was very odd because there was nobody in the restaurant except myself, and I saw somebody moving downstairs and went to go investigate, and there was no one there. The building itself sits on Portland's infamous Shaghai tunnels. They have an intriguing and tragic past, the history dates back about a hundred and fifty years.
When you enter the underground you start getting a cold dark feeling. The tunnels travel all around the waterfront areas in the city. They are made of basements and underground passageways that connect underneath places like bars and hotels. They have served many purposes but most noticeably to kidnap men and hold them until sold to ship captains passing through. There are many accounts of these tunnels being haunted.
Visitors of the area claim to hear voices and footsteps, and even see the occasional apparition down the tunnels. Along the way you will also get to see the many trapped doors that were used to capture their victims. They are also called dead falls, by the people at the time. This is a very mysterious piece of American history in a place that leaves a lasting impression. I am Mary Piercing, showing you Portland.

St. Augustine lighthouse (built in 1974) is an active lighthouse and museum in St. Augustine, Florida. The lighthouse and surrounding buildings are reportedly haunted. The apparitions of two girls has been reported on several occasions by both visitors and staff. The girls are believed to be the daughters of Hezekiah Pittee, who was in charge of construction of the lighthouse in the 1870’s. His two daughters died during its construction, in a tragic accident on the site. Both of them have been seen on the tower catwalk.
The apparition of a woman has also been witnessed, standing on the stairway of the lighthouse or walking on the grounds outside the buildings. Her voice has been heard on several occasions, often crying out for help. There has also been various reports of disembodied conversations, shadows, and the sound of footsteps coming up the lighthouse steps.
The ghost of a man has also been seen in the lighthouse basement, believed to be that of Civil War hero and former lighthouse keeper William A. Harn.
St. Augustine Members Take On the City
On 09/28/09, St. Augustine members of Central Florida Veterans For Peace drew a line in the sand regarding the slow erosion of individual rights in St. Augustine. The history of this erosion is long, 10 years plus, and convoluted.
The ordinance in question was described as an administrative action to put all regulations about parades into one ordinance and add a couple of minor changes. What was not mentioned is that in addition to a new administrative fee, the new ordinance applies to all marches, parades and processions and that one of the criteria the city manager, who has the final say, will use to accept/reject an application is how well the activity fits with the ambiance of the city. The city attorney stated that the purpose was to protect the people involved and see if they would need police protection, extra garbage clean-up, etc., etc,. All of these items would, of course, entail additional costs. In reality, the people, especially the homeless, the poor, and the working people, need protection from the St. Augustine PD. This ordinance follows three recent ordinances which make most activities associated with living, to include singing, illegal. As near as we can tell the ambiance the city is striving for is something akin to a sterile, free-trade, made-in-china, plastic garbage can.
We, reluctantly, undertake this course of action because the city has successfully co-opted and divided the people, causing them to fight each other rather than unite and fight the power structure. It concerns us that the local newspaper reported that the City Commission wasn't worried about us because we are nonviolent. What is the implication?
We will take back OUR city, OUR county, OUR state, OUR country and OUR world!!! We will do it nonviolently - out of anger and out of love.

HORROR || 13 Most Haunted Places in the US: Part 1 of 3 [D2]
HORROR is a short series from D2M2 Media. In the first installment of this three-part episode, Danger Doug [D2] introduces the first four locations that are considered to be among the most haunted places in the United States of America.
Many of the locations in this series have been the sites of terrible tragedies and deaths in the past. Local legends have told that many of the spirits of the deceased continue to haunt these places. Although most of the locations are open and welcome to tourism, D2M2 Media encourages everyone who visits them to maintain a grave and respectful manner.
1. St. Augustine Lighthouse (St. Augustine, Florida)
- Tragic deaths throughout the lighthouse's early history in the 19th Century have given rise to several counts of spirits haunting the grounds. Deaths include: former lighthouse keepers and Mary and Eliza Pittee, the children of Superintendent Hezekiah Pittee.
2. Winchester Mansion (San Jose, California)
- Sarah Winchester, former heiress to the Winchester Repeating Arms Company, built this mansion in San Jose, California along with subsequent reconstructions throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is believed that she was haunted by the people who were killed by firearms manufactured by her late husband's company.
3. Myrtle's Plantation (St. Francisville, Louisiana)
- Accounts of the gross mistreatment of human beings are largely prevalent throughout the history of slavery in the United States. However, what makes this plantation unique is the story of a slave girl named Chloe who was murdered on the property after poisoning her master's wife and two children. Her spirit is said to haunt the grounds even to this day.
4. Villisca Ax Murder House (Villisca, Iowa)
- This house is the site of a heartbreaking tragedy in which eight people were brutally murdered with an ax. Deaths include Josiah and Sarah Moore (the parents), their four children, and two sisters, Lena and Ina Stillinger (friends of the Moore children). Many suspects were charged, but none were convicted. This crime is still unsolved today, however, the house still stands as a chilling reminder of a terrifying tragedy, which occurred in June 1912.

Orbs of St. Augustine City Gates
On July 20, 2010, We Traveled to St. Augustine Florida, and one of our stops, after a local ghost walk, was the City Gates of St. Augustine. Although we normally discount photos of orbs due to potential moisture, dust, or bugs, we cannot debunk the following photos since these orbs appeared more and more in the photographs as we asked for them to show up during our session. We were trying to communicate with the little girl who reportedly haunts these city gates, and asked her to place orbs in our photos. Please review the following 2 photographs, and leave us a comment about your thoughts.

THE TRAVEL DIARIES - A SOCIAL PANTS EXPERIMENT
Welcome to The Social Pants Experiment. This season, The Travel Diaries.
Last year, I spent my time on daily vlogs. This year (2019) I'm focusing on fewer videos with greater depth of content. Specifically, focused around my extensive travels around the globe.
The term Travel Vlogger gets thrown around a lot these days. It's a standard on YouTube. Consistently trending on Instagram, and can be confusing for those seeking a taste of reality. Let's change that right now!
I write for fun. I travel out of necessity. And, this year- these are my travel diaries. I hope you enjoy.

Castillo De San Marcos, St Augustine Florida Fort
A tour of the Spanish fort Castillo De San Marcos in St Augustine, Florida. Built in 1672. It has been occupied by Spain, Great Britain, the Confederate States of America, and The United States of America. The fort is the oldest masonry fort in North America and was built with coquina, a sedimentary rock cut from a nearby island. If you look closely at the walls you can see the coquina is made up of shells and sand. The Castillo is now a national monument and part of the National Park Service. This old St. Augustine Florida fort is supposedly haunted with ghost. If that's what your looking for they're probably hiding in the powder magazine. The entry cost is $7 per person and worth the money.
