Chisholm Trail Ride
A small team of photographers/filmmakers and cowboys will travel by horseback up the Chisholm Trail from San Antonio to Nocona, Texas, installing missing historical markers, hoping to influence it's induction as a National Historic Trail, and documenting the rich history for a feature length or episodic documentary.
The Chisholm Trail Ride is a project created in collaboration with several branches of the Texas Historical Commission's Heritage Trails Program to help generate interest in the important history of the Chisholm Trail. With a small team of photographers/filmmakers and cowboys, the plan is to ride the nearly 400 miles from San Antonio to Nocona, documenting the rich history along the way. Through the producing of a documentary film, and by utilizing publications and social media, our aim is to not only educate future generations about the importance of this trail to Texas and US history, but to also influence the passing of a bill in Congress that would get the Chisholm Trail inducted as a National Historic Trail. By organizing events in key cities, we hope to generate public interest in the project, and gain individual sponsorships for the remaining historical markers, so that this important trail can be completed.

LBJ NATL HISTORICAL PARK
In March of 2018 I visited the Lyndon Johnson National Historical Park. The park is split into two branches, the Boyhood Home and Johnson Settlement in Johnson City, Texas and the LBJ Ranch in Stonewwall, Texas, During my visit to the Ranch I was able to tour the Texas White House, however a few week after my visit the National Park Service suspended tours of the inside of the house due to structural issues, As of December 2018 there is not estimate of when interior tours will resume.
Carson County Square House Museum Complex (Full) in 4K
The purpose of the Carson County Square House Museum is to provide the highest possible level of museum experience through the collection, care, exhibition, interpretation, and demonstration of items that illustrate the history, natural history, and art of the Texas Panhandle.
ABOUT THE SQUARE HOUSE MUSEUM
The historic Square House, built of lumber that was hauled from Dodge City in the 1880's, is just one of 21 buildings, that make up the Square House Museum complex. Case exhibits and full-sized diorama tell the story of the Texas Panhandle and its people, from mammoth hunters 12,000 years ago, through the Indian Wars, cattle ranches, and the coming of the railroad in the 19th century, to the oil boom of the 1920's and the region's part in the space program of today. A wildlife gallery and two art galleries add other dimensions to the history. Accredited three times by the American Association of Museums, the Square House Museum is considered one of the best small museums in the United States.
MUSEUM HISTORY
The Carson County Square House Museum started with the original Square House. Square House is a small house which was built in the late 1880's as the railroad reached to town of Panhandle and as the town was being populated. It was occupied by early settler James C. Paul how was a pioneer banker. Next in line was Judge J.L. Harrison he was a rancher. Next was James B. Wilks how was an innkeeper. Last one was the Sheriff Oscar L. Thorp. The house was moved to its site at 5th and Elsie Streets in Panhandle, TX. After much needed restoration became the nucleus of the present Square House Museum complex with its multiple buildings. 1967 the museum was opened. In 1966 it was awarded a Recorded Texas Historical Landmark plaque. It was entered in the National Register in 1973. The museum is accredited by the American Association of Museums. This gem of the Texas Panhandle houses historical artifacts, art, and a Texana library. Traveling and in-house art exhibits are hung in the two art galleries.
Over 10,000 indoor and outdoor artifacts are on display. Sculpture is on display, as is art by local indigenous tribes. Other structures and exhibits include a train caboose, a windmill, a barn, a dugout shelter and art galleries, all focused on local history and current events

Phoenix is the capital of the state of Arizona as well as the most populous city in the American Southwest and sixth largest city in the United States. Founded in 1871, it has become the region's primary political, cultural, economic, and transportation center. At an elevation of 1100 ft (335 m), it is situated in the biologically unique Sonoran Desert. Over time it has merged with the neighboring cities of Scottsdale, Tempe, Glendale, Peoria, Mesa, Chandler, and Gilbert to form the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan Area. Currently exurbs such as Apache Junction, Fountain Hills, Queen Creek, and Sun City are becoming part of this metropolitan area as well. Phoenix is extremely hot in the summertime, so always have sun screen with you.

Salinas Pueblo Missions - Quarai
Looking down this small valley, past the rubble mounds that were Indian pueblos, beyond the abandoned Spanish mission, across pastures that were fertile fields, one looks at the broad Estancia Valley. Quarai was one of many villages in this part of the Spanish Empire known as the Salinas Jurisdiction. Though located on a remote frontier, Quarai participated in the meeting between the expanding European culture and the far different Indian tradition.
In this valley, lie the abandoned remains of the first attempt to blend those two cultures.
Quarai was on the southeastern fringe of the Tiwa-speaking Indians who migrated through mountain canyon trails from the area of present-day Albuquerque before AD 1300. They established settlements along the eastern slope of the Manzano Mountains at Chilili, Tajique and here at Quarai. They farmed, gathered salt at the nearby saline lakes, and took advantage of their location between the Rio Grande pueblos and the Plains Indians to become traders. This hill is actually the remains of a large masonry pueblo from the 1600s.
