The Rest Is History Part 1 - The Boston Massacre
Part 1: The Boston Massacre
This is our History Project. It depicts two events: the Boston Massacre and Lincoln's Assassination.
In terms of dialogue, everything was improvised on the spot, and costumes were a weak point. However, we edited the whole thing for hours in hopes of maximizing your viewing pleasure!
ENJOY!

Seth Prochaska Seizing 'Opportunity to be Seen'
Seth Prochaska, who has a degree an agronomy from Texas A&M, reads books about quantum physics in his free time.
I'm a little bit all over the place, said the 25-year-old from Texas.
He grew up on a farm and said his work ethic — keep working until the work is done — serves him well in his pursuit to become a professional Grid athlete.
I really want people to know my name and I want to do that through a heavy bar, he said. For a smaller guy not weighing as much as some of the other Olympic lifters, I can still move weight pretty fast for my body size, which I think is going to set me apart from everybody else.
He did we he had to do to make it the NPGL's final Pro Day in San Francisco.
I think I'll stand out just because I'm willing to do anything, Prochaska said. I sold everything that I had and gave up every ounce of money that I had to come out here just to have an opportunity to be seen.

PPOW - Dotty Attie
Dotty Attie
The Lone Ranger
P.P.O.W Gallery
535 West 22nd Street
3rd Floor
New York, NY 10011
November 21st - December 21st
Opening: November 21st 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
P.P. O.W. will present an installation of new paintings by Dotty Attie, which will
be our ninth solo exhibition with the artist. Since the 1970s, Attie's multi-panel
compositions have explored gender identity, politics and culture through the re-
imaging of famous paintings and photography. This new group of paintings,
based on a carefully researched assortment of found photographs, are rendered
in her signature palate of black, white, and grey highlighted with touches of
flesh tones. In this series Attie turns her attention to the iconic actions of the
popular heroic figure The Lone Ranger. In an attempt to un-mask this legendary
American folk icon Attie presents a host of images which suggest an alternate
reality to the constructed version we are so accustomed to through television
and film. With her recombinative process Attie makes power visible through the
use of subtly subversive paintings and carefully composed text.
Lined up horizontally on the wall, these sequences of canvases create sentence
like structures reminiscent of scenes from a film. Each one portrays a reactionary
still pertaining to The Lone Ranger and our expectations of his success. In the
work Masked Men Attie paints portraits of a series of male figures -- including
baseball catchers, hockey players, batman, soldiers, and deep sea divers -- all
wearing the notorious mask. The accompanying text tiles, however, reveal a
truth: many tried to emulate the masked man's success, but few were able to
capture the public imagination. Looking at the viewer, these masked men
appear both ominous and ridiculous, as Attie turns the tables on the construct of
masculinity, revealing it's potential for violence and monstrosity.
In other works, Attie continues to delve into the American psyche of radio show
culture and early televison as another work states, The Lone Ranger was always
to be found wherever assistance was needed. Attie accumulates images of
violence: electric chairs, shootings, crashes, and other portentious scenarios
documenting American history through photography and film noir histrionics.
Again, Attie's inocuous and benign texts are juxtaposed with the violent, sexual
and erotic conflagration provided by cultural heritage producing a seductive
but disturbing experience.
A full color illustrated catalogue will be available with an essay by Emily
Colucci.
Dotty Attie was born in Pennsauken, New Jersey in 1938 and currently lives and
works in New York, New York. She received a BFA from the Philadelphia College
of Fine art. Attie was a founding member of A.I.R Gallery which opened in 1972
as the first artist-run gallery for women in the U.S. Her paintings are in the
collections of The Museum of Modern Art, The Whitney Museum and the
Brooklyn Museum, among others. In 2012 Attie's work was featured in This Will
Have Been: Art, Love & Politics in the 1980s at the Museum of Contemporary
Art, Chicago, IL. The exhibition also traveled to the Institute of Contemporary
Art, Boston, MA and the The Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN.

Mark (Nat Faxon) ends his engagement to Elizabeth (Cameron Diaz) with the help of his mother (Stephanie Faracy).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
A booze-swilling, pot-smoking, hard-swearing seventh-grade teacher rallies to get out of the classroom for good by wrangling a rich substitute teacher into marriage in this comedy from director Jake Kasdan (Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story). Cynical teacher Elizabeth (Cameron Diaz) hates her job. She can't wait for the day she finds a man who makes enough cash to let her walk away from her life of middle-school misery, and when her fianc cancels their wedding plans, her frantic search intensifies. Just when it starts to look like Elizabeth will have to muscle her way through another semester of skull-crushing hangovers, however, handsome substitute Scott Delacorte (Justin Timberlake) shows up at school sporting a fancy wristwatch and the promise of a care-free future. But in order to earn her meal ticket, Elizabeth will have to out-cute perky fellow teacher Amy (Lucy Punch). And it won't be easy, because Scott is crushing on Amy hard. Now, if Elizabeth can just motivate her students to study so that she can win a state contest to earn enough cash for some new breast implants, perhaps she can finally find a means of diverting Scott's gaze. Meanwhile, much to Elizabeth's chagrin, wisecracking, self-effacing gym teacher Russell (Jason Segel) refuses to admit defeat despite being turned down for a date by his gold-digging colleague time and again.

The Carol and Steve Show: Episode 14 - A Day in the Life of Steve
Yesterday I took my camera along on a trip into Boston for a planning meeting for an upcomming WiFi Summit. Since Carol already did an A Day in the Life espisode, I decided to do the same. Only this time I took the 512MB memory card with me, so I got a lot of footage.
Here are links for some of the places we went to and people we met:
