London Piccadilly and Jermyn Street
Jermyn Street is widely known as a place where the shops are almost exclusively aimed at the gentlemen's clothing market and it is famous for its resident shirtmakers such as Turnbull & Asser, Thomas Pink, Harvie & Hudson and T. M. Lewin. Gentlemen's outfitters Hackett and DAKS are also located on Jermyn Street, as well as shoe- and boot-makers John Lobb and Foster & Son.
A number of other notable businesses occupy premises on the street, such as the men's luxury goods brand Alfred Dunhill, who first took a premises on the corner of Jermyn Street and Duke street in 1907, barbers Geo.F. Trumper and Taylors of Old Bond Street, cigar shop Davidoff, as well as Britain's oldest cheese shop, Paxton & Whitfield, trading since 1797.
Tramp nightclub and the 70-seat Jermyn Street Theatre (the West End's smallest) are other notable sites.
Franco's Restaurant Jermyn Street
Franco’s has been serving the community and visitors to St James’s from early morning to late at night, for over 60 years.
Situated at the St James’s end of Jermyn Street, Franco’s is surrounded by the many lifestyle boutiques, private clubs, art galleries and hotels of the area.
Open all day, the personality of the restaurant evolves from a quietly and gently efficient breakfast venue to a sharp and charged lunch atmosphere, to elegance and romance in the evening.
The lunch and dinner menus highlight carefully prepared traditional and more modern Italian dishes and the relaxed and friendly service ensures there is always somebody to greet you with a smile.

The history of James Bond at Turnbull & Asser | Jermyn Street
As part of a James Bond influencer event, Pete was invited to Jermyn Street, London, to hear of how Turnbull & Asser got involved with the James Bond franchise.
Retail manager of Turnbull & Asser in Jermyn Street James Cook indulged us with some great stories and showed us the exact spot where Sean Connery got measured by the then designer Michael Fish.
He also spoke of how Daniel Craig needed extra fittings on the set of Casino Royale as he grew to big for the shirts he was originally measured for.
Matt conducted an interview with James Cook from 2012 which you can find in the link below.
Special thanks to James Cook from Turnbull & Asser and David Zaritsky from The Bond Experience for making this happen.

London Video Tour: The West End (Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Street, Convent Garden, Soho)
In this video tour, David Hill of New York Habitat ( explores London's bustling West End district!
On the tour, we will stop by Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Street, Convent Garden, Soho and more. All are part of London's thriving West End district, the go-to place for entertainment, theater and shopping! West End stretches roughly from Charring Cross in the east to Hyde Park in the west, and from the banks of the River Thames in the south to Euston Road in the north.
Covent Garden
The tour starts at the Covent Garden market: a place that started as a fruits and vegetables garden, evolved into a famous fruit, vegetable and flower market, and is now a thriving shopping area. Covent Garden also houses London's Royal Opera House, which has been part of Covent Garden since the mid 18th century. In Covent Garden you'll often get to experience street theater performances, which you can enjoy from one of the many terraces in front of Covent Garden's restaurants. One of these is Rules: London's oldest restaurant! London's oldest pub, the Lamb & Flag, is also located in Covent Garden.
Leicester Square
One of West End's three famous squares, Leicester Square is home to many movie theaters. Leicester Square pays homage to the world of theater with a statue of Shakespeare, which you can find in the center of the square, and with the many street artists you'll see all around. If you plan on seeing one of the West End musicals, you can often find discounted tickets at the TKTS booth located on Leicester Square.
Soho & Oxford Street
Next stop on the tour is London's entertainment center: Soho. Soho, which has also become London's gay scene center, lies at the heart of the West End, and is simply brimming with restaurants, pubs and shops.
North of Soho you'll find Oxford Street, which is the busiest shopping street in Europe! With hundreds of shops ranging from Topshop to the Gap, Oxford Street is sure to please even the most fervent shopaholic.
After a busy day of shopping, you can relax and feel at home in your London vacation rental apartment ( NY Habitat London vacation rentals provide the perfect base to explore the city from! An example of one of our vacation rentals is this 2-bedroom rental in Covent Garden: The apartment has a classy modern feel, comes with a fully equipped kitchen and is just blocks away from the British Museum! For a longer stay, we have apartments to offer such as this studio apartment, also in Covent Garden: The studio is part of an 18th century house, and is located right in the center of Covent Garden, so you have excellent access to the Covent Garden Market and more! Check for our entire selection of apartments in London.
Piccadilly Circus & Trafalgar Square
Next on the tour is Piccadilly Circus, a busy square popular with tourists that boasts many neon billboards. Along Piccadilly, you'll find cafes and shops such as the restaurant Richoux, the shopping arcade Burlington Arcade and the tailor shop Gieves & Hawkes. Along Jermyn Street, you'll find ladies and gentleman clothing outfitters such as Hackett.
In West End, you'll also come across cultural institutions such as the British Museum, which is one of the oldest and largest museums in the world. To the south, you'll find another such cultural institution on Trafalgar Square: The National Gallery. Trafalgar Square itself is also well worth a visit, as it's home to Nelson's Column, the Admiralty Arch and great fountains. The square is also where many events are held, for example, it's the unofficial venue for the New Year's Eve celebrations.
Seven Dials
Now you've seen the three great squares of the West End district, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square, we'll end the tour at another great crossroads: Seven Dials. Seven Dials is a small road junction where seven streets meet, and it nicely illustrates the great attractions of the West End: theater, entertainment & shopping.
We hope you've enjoyed this tour of London's West End neighborhood! Don't forget to check out our blog for more information about the area: Did we miss any of your favorite spots? Let us know in the comments below!

Let's all go - 'Made in England' Great little boutique - London Fashion
Finding Unique shops in London these days isn't easy, There is such a huge competition on the high street that people seem to forget about London's beautiful side streets, where personal shopping is not forgotten.
My first discovery was this small, extravagant clothing shop with an unrepeatable 1920's feel, almost like stepping back in time, with some of the highest quality men's and lady's clothing at an affordable price, from Harris tweed to Hand crafted shoes.
'Thomas Farthing' is situated on Museum Street, opposite the 'British Museum' - The Street alone has has a beautiful 'Charles Dickens' feel and is well known for its Range of 'Independent' Cafe's.
Lady's and Gentleman Check this out for yourselves.

London Shopping Guide; Savile Row to Oxford Street
Visit for more.
Our guide to shopping in London in areas such as Great George Street, Oxford Street, Paddington Street, Piccadilly Circus, Savile Row, Oxford Circus Station.
Transcription:
One of the most famous things to do in London is to go shopping. This is Oxford Circus where its got a massive concentration of a massive concentration of all sorts of shops. International names and also British home grown tailored suits and bespoke shoes that we're going to be visiting as well. The street we're on now is one of the busiest in London.
Savile Row is one of the most exclusive streets to shop on in London. A bespoke tailored hand-made suit can cost you from two thousand pounds upwards. And famous people like Winston Churchill and Alexander McQueen, Cary Grant and the Royal family have all bought their suits here.
Meyer Mortimer, Cleverley Shoes, Burberry.
So this is a typical brand Burberry which we associate with the trench coat. And it doesn't have any of the prices anywhere which means if you have to ask you probably can't afford it.

London walk: Piccadilly, The Ritz, Piccadilly Circus, Regent Street, Carnaby Street & Oxford Circus
London walk from Green Park to Oxford Circus via Piccadilly, The Ritz, Burlington Arcade, Piccadilly Circus, Regent Street, Heddon Street, Carnaby Street, Liberty London, Maddox Street returning to Regent Street and Oxford Circus for a view of Oxford Street east and west.
Walk with me through the designer shops and cute streets between Piccadilly and Oxford Circus. Starting from Green Park I walk along Piccadilly past The Ritz and through Burlington Arcade to arrive at the gentlemen’s outfitters of Sackville Street and onto Piccadilly Circus from where I head along Regent Street, taking a couple of detours along Heddon Street to restaurant spot and then into Carnaby Street once the cool capital of the UK, quickly viewing Liberty London, spotting the Maddox Gallery florally festooned and then finally ending the walk at Oxford Circus. Phew…. is that everything covered?! Oh, and don’t forget Max the collie dog who mistook my gimbal for a stick and wanted to play, bless him; he had been out walking since 11am and I met him at 3pm just before he was heading home.
The area north of Piccadilly and west of Regent Street is, in my opinion, very rewarding if you want to just wander and see what the world brings you – restaurants, pubs, little shops, cute streets - there are bits of old London around most corners. The detours through the Burlington Arcade, along Heddon Street and then Carnaby Street weren’t planned and neither was the Maddox Street gallery all covered in flowers. I do like a bit of spontaneity????
