Black River Float Trip 1

Ep. 201- Big Spring Missouri (Largest Spring in the Ozarks)
Located in the Mark Twain National Forest, in Van Buren, Missouri, lies one of the the largest springs in the world, called Big Spring. Due to heavy rains every week in my area i have nowhere to fish, so we decided to make a video of this place instead. I am now aware that this spring is not the largest in the world, but one of the biggest. It is however, the largest spring in the Ozarks.
van buren mo river trip 6-28-13
Michael and Brandi first river trip together. We went with Roxie and Justin and Ashley and Clark and found Fed floating along. Who by the way had hell of a hang over the next day.
Recorded with my go pro that was out of my case and in my pocket when i was in the water. It didnt work after that. I did get videos off sd card and a couple days later after sitting on my computer desk I was able to turn it on and everything seems to work.
Current River
Filmed with a GoPro Hero Session.
Aug 1, 2017 Evan's first white water rafting trip in Van Buren, MO. We used The Landing Current River as our guide. We are in the Tube Tracker, which is a small and agile tube. We did a half day float, which is a 2.5hr - 3.5hr float, depending on your craft (canoe is faster, tubes are slower).
The water is shallow for the majority of the river. There are a couple parts that are over your head. There are plenty of places to stop and snorkel, eat lunch, take a break or just goof off. This is also a good trip for young kids or beginners. We had a great time. let me know if you'd like to plan a trip there. We'd love to show you around.

Springs in Missouri
The Show-Me state is blessed with an abundance of clear water springs.
These blue waters surrounded by lush green vegetation, give life to many streams and rivers in the state.
There are over 11-hundred springs in Missouri.
You'll find springs in all regions of Missouri. But the greatest number are located in the Ozarks of central, southern and southwest Missouri.
While there are many springs in Missouri, there are still a lot of questions about these natural wonders that remain unanswered.
What we do know is their waters are cool. They have a constant temperature between 56 and 59 degrees.
A lot of water pours out of them.... millions and millions of gallons each day.
Big Spring near Van Buren is the largest spring in the state.
An average of 275-million gallons of water flows from the spring each day.
And that changes daily depending on the amount of rainfall.
But where does the water come from?
It comes from the surface, down through the soil and rock, and in many cases, the water travels several miles underground, before exiting at a spring outlet.
At Big Spring, some water travels from as far as 50 miles away.
The waters that flow from the springs in Missouri are the source of many streams and rivers and home to some of the most scenic beauty in the Midwest.
It's also home to many interesting plants, animals and fish.
For trout, these waters are the only natural place cool enough for them to survive year-round in the state.
At Bennett Spring near Lebanon, nearly 100 million gallons of water gushes daily from the state's third largest spring,
The stream is stocked daily from March through October and provides excellent fishing for rainbow and brown trout.
Springs also supply water to the state's other trout parks including Montauk near Licking.
An estimated 43 million gallons of water flows daily to form the main headwaters of the Current River.
The springs of Missouri provide a water source for fishing and floating in the state. They are also a drawing attraction for many tourists.
Over the years, they've been used for other purposes.
Some springs in Missouri supplied pioneers with salt.
Where salt was not present, they were used as water supplies.
Years ago, many springs also helped power grist mills to grind grains into flour and corn meal.
Today, only a scattering of mills, like this one at Alley Spring near Eminence can be found.
They also helped supply ideas for names of towns and cities. Over 60 cities have the word spring in their name. From Cedar Springs to Climax Springs; theres Excelsior Springs, Bennett Spring, Sweet Springs, Siloam Spring, Weldon Spring Lake Spring, Edgar Springs, El Dorado Springs and Springfield.

Update Sept 30 2010 - Current River Van Buren MO
Latest update from Current River in Van Buren Mo. What a beautiful place. It has been a very tough faith journey getting here from North Carolina, due to the weight of water and my pack. It has been worth it to have humbly touched & inspired so many lives. They have inspired me in ways beyond measure as well. Please pray Reebok will be inspired by my extraordinary efforts & help me with a support vehicle so I can walk more miles a day. The pack really slows me down & frankly it hurts. Thank you for watching my video. Be blessed.
Current River Kayaking. Baptist Camp to Akers Ferry MIssouri
The upper current river is great to float with plenty of sights to take in along the way. Narrow and fast moving, this stretch begins just below the river's headwaters at Montauk State Park. This video is just a glimpse at what's in store for anyone floating this stretch of the beautiful Current.

Mammoth Spring, Arkansas is a quaint little town nestled within the beautiful Ozark mountains. It is home to Mammoth Spring and the crystal clear Spring river. Some of the best Trout Fishing in America can be found right here. It is not far from growing West Plains, Missouri which is the medical hub for the region. Mammoth Spring joins Thayer, Missouri as one town between two different States where one must abide by each States Laws. A great place to invest in or retire. The winters are mild. The roads are bumpy on these hills which is evident in some of the shakiness within this video.
