Starting Point: Grand Avenue .
Los Angeles, officially the City of Los Angeles and often known by its initials L.A., is the second-most populous city (over 18 million) in the United States (after New York City), the most populous city in California. Situated in Southern California, Los Angeles is known for its Mediterranean climate, ethnic diversity, sprawling metropolis, and as a major center of the American entertainment industry. Los Angeles lies in a large coastal basin surrounded on three sides by mountains reaching up to and over 10,000 feet.
Nicknamed the City of Angels, Los Angeles is a global city with a diverse economy in entertainment, culture, media, fashion, science, sports, technology, education, medicine and research. The city is one of the most substantial economic engines within the United States. The area economy is the third-largest in the world, after the Greater Tokyo and New York metropolitan areas.
Los Angeles includes Hollywood and leads the world in the creation of television productions and recorded music; it is also one of the leaders in motion picture production.
L.A. hosted the Summer Olympic Games in 1932 and 1984 and is bidding to host the 2024 Summer Olympics and thus become the second city to have hosted the Games three times (after London).
Economy
The economy of Los Angeles is driven by international trade, entertainment (television, motion pictures, video games, music recording, and production), aerospace, technology, petroleum, fashion, apparel, and tourism. Los Angeles is home to people from more than 140 countries speaking 224 different identified languages. Ethnic enclaves like Chinatown, Historic Filipinotown, Koreatown, Little Armenia, Little Ethiopia, Tehrangeles, Little Tokyo, Little Bangladesh and Thai Town provide examples of the polyglot character of Los Angeles.
Culture
Los Angeles is often billed as the Creative Capital of the World, because one in every six of its residents works in a creative industry and there are more artists, writers, filmmakers, actors, dancers and musicians living and working in Los Angeles than any other city at any time in history.
Movies and the Performing Arts
The city's Hollywood neighborhood has become recognized as the center of the motion picture industry. Los Angeles plays host to the annual Academy Awards and is the site of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, the oldest film school in the United States.

Los Angeles Vlog 2019 - Travel to California with us | Venice Beach, Santa Monica, Downtown LA | The Last Bookstore | Honeymoon USA---Use this link and save 10% with Booking.com! ----
In this video you will see our LA experience on Venice Beach, Santa Monica Pier and Downtown LA, all the other sides of LA are coming in the next vlogs! Stay here and explore Cali with us!
This video is the first one of our Honeymoon Videos! We've got such an incredible experience in the United States on the West Coast! It looks this was OUR YEAR and we have managed to go to America for one month! For both of us it was the first time in the US and maybe that's why we were so excited to be there!
We've been flying a lot during our month of the honeymoon but it worthed all the effort!
Out flights were between:
London, UK and Los Angeles - California,
Los Angeles - Maui, Hawaii
Maui, Hawaii - Oahu, Hawaii,
Oahu, Hawaii - Los Angeles, California
Los Angeles, California - London, UK
Also, we've been driving between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
It was the trip of our dreams and we are so happy to share with you some vlogs from there! I will post more videos soon but for now, you have our first days in the US!
_________
We wanted to spend the first part of our adventure on the Westside of Los Angeles, closer to the ocean and the beach. First, we've got a hotel exactly on Venice Beach, just in front of the famous Venice Boardwalk area and very close to Santa Monica. In the first few days it was all about exploring the area, so we've got many relaxing and entertaining walks on The Boardwalk Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier. We've also been shopping a lot in Santa Monica - so many great stores and some sales were just about to start! Happy me!
Rule number one: If you are not riding something you can’t tell you’re in Venice or Santa Monica!
Those electric scooters are spread all across the city and are working through a cool app called Bird. You just download the app and everything is so easy afterwards! Really loved the idea, I would love to see those electric Birds in London and in Europe, as well!
LA has already too many cool stuff, guys!! Bikes, Surfers, Beaches and the ocean! Isn’t this just the perfect life? We were in love with the vibe of this city!
1. While the entire Venice Beach has a lot of good people-watching spots, nothing tops watching the skateboarders, in my opinion!
This was already a daily routine for us while staying in Venice!
The skateboarders were so entertaining to watch and whenever we were in the Venice Skate Park area we’ve been checking out the local talents.
2. When it comes to food in Los Angeles, it’s either burgers either Mexican food. It wasn't the food I am eating on a daily basis but it was ok-ish. The burgers from In-and-Out are just incredible!! And I've got so much tasty quesadilla while in LA!
3. When it comes to visit, there are plenty of places to go. In Downtown Los Angeles, I wanna mention two nice places I liked the most but the buildings are really impressive as well!
a. We’ve found this interesting and instagramable place called The Last Bookstore. It claims to be California’s largest new and used bookstore. A really cool place to hide when it’s getting too hot outside! And so many nice books to discover!
The Last Bookstore: Airy book & record store offering new & used items in a multilevel space adorned with local art. You can find the place here: 453 S Spring St, Los Angeles, CA 90013, USA
b. Another place I really wanna mention is the Museum of Contemporary Art, which is just near the Walt Disney Concert Hall! The place is so colourful and it has so many trendy over-the-top art pieces! You can def take some really cool Instagram shots or Insta stories around here. Just don’t forget to charge your phone before, as I did...

Los Angeles - City Video Guide
Los Angeles, Southern California, is known for its sunshine, entertainment industry and openness to newcomers.
In Downtown Los Angeles, Olvera Street is one of the oldest surviving areas in L.A., to experience the colors and tastes of Old Mexico. Just across the road is Union Station, which has appeared in almost 30 big-budget movies.
The main attractions in Los Angeles include Knott's Berry Park, the Aquarium of the Pacific and, of course, Disneyland. Rodeo Drive, in the heart of Beverly Hills, is the world's most expensive and exclusive shopping area.
Hollywood is the epicenter of the world's entertainment industry. Highlights are the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Grauman's Chinese Theater. Griffith Park is America's largest and wildest urban park. Perched high on the slopes of Mount Hollywood, you'll find the Griffith Observatory here.
West Hollywood is a haven for artists and designers. As evening falls, head to the iconic clubs of Sunset Strip, such as The Viper Room and Whiskey a Go Go.
