Once You Know...Fulton, Missouri - National Churchill Museum
Fulton, Missouri has many great draws for visitors and residents alike. One of the city's great attractions is the National Churchill Museum.
In the 1960s Westminster College set out to mark what would be the 40th anniversary of Churchill's visit. After due consideration to traditional modes of commemoration, Westminster College settled on the rather more ambitious notion of moving a Christopher Wren designed Church from London. This Church, St. Mary the Virgin Aldermanbury, had stood in London since 1677 when it replaced an earlier structure that had sat on the same site since the 12th century. This magnificent building, badly damaged during the London Blitz, was moved stone by stone to Westminster's campus and rebuilt to Wren's original specifications.
Beneath this Church is the National Churchill Museum itself which, through the imaginative and innovative use of technology, brings to life the story of Winston Churchill and the world he knew. Recently rebuilt from the ground up, the new displays and the permanent exhibition, together with a host of associated historical and cultural activities that support it, was recognized by the United States Congress as America's permanent tribute to this great man and formally designated as America's National Churchill Museum.

National Churchill Museum/Berlin Wall
My adventure to the National Churchill Museum located in the town of Fulton, Missouri where Winston Churchill gave his famous Iron Curtain Speech (Sinews of Peace Speech) in 1946. Outside of the museum there is a sculpture called Breakthrough that was created with parts of the Berlin Wall by an artist named Edwina Sandys who was also a granddaughter of Churchill. The National Churchill Museum (formerly the Winston Churchill Memorial and Library), located on the Westminster College campus in Fulton, Missouri, United States, commemorates the life and times of Sir Winston Churchill. In 1946, Winston Churchill delivered his famous Sinews of Peace address in the Westminster Historic Gymnasium. His speech, due to one particularly famous phrase (an 'Iron Curtain' has descended across the continent), has come to be known as the Iron Curtain speech. One of Churchill's most famous speeches of all time, Sinews of Peace heralded the beginning of the Cold War.
The National Churchill Museum comprises three distinct but related elements: the Church of St Mary Aldermanbury, the museum, and the Breakthrough sculpture.

The Special Relationship Project
The Special Relationship Project is a community art project involving over 5,000 K-12 students from Mid Missouri. It celebrates alliances and working together to create a better world. CAN206 THE CHURCH OF ST MARY ALDENBURY SOON TO BE MOVED TO MISSOURI IN THE UNITED STATES
(1 Jun 1964) The Church of St Mary Aldenbury in London, built originally in 1181 but destroyed during the great fire of London in 1666. Re-built in Portland stone by Sir Christopher Wren, it was gutted during the Blitz in 1940 leaving only the walls. It is planned that the remaining stone be shipped to Fulton, Missouri in the United States in the grounds of Westminster College as a memorial to Sir Winston Churchill. Churchill had made his Sinews of Peace, Iron Curtain speech in the Westminster College gymnasium in 1946. The church is also the burial site of two of William Shakespeare's friends and actors Henry Condell and John Heminge.
