Russia: Tattooed 2,500-yo mummy PRINCESS goes on show to public

The remains of the famed 2500-year-old Altai mummy, nicknamed 'Princess of Ukok', were presented to the general public for first time at Anokhin Museum in Gorno-Altaisk on Wednesday.

Officials from the museum are delighted as according to Rimma Erkinova, this discovery was one of the most sensational archaeological discoveries of the twentieth century.

The Princess was originally found in 1993 on the Ukok plateau on the border with Mongolia and China and is almost unusually well-preserved due to the permafrost.
