Maui Sunset Dinner Cruise - Hawaii Ocean Project
Departing daily from Lahaina Harbor in west Maui, enjoy a romantic evening on the ocean during a Maui Sunset Dinner Cruise from Hawaii Ocean Project:
Hop aboard the Maui Princess, a 120 foot sailing yacht with an upper and lower deck, oceanfront seating, full table service, island-inspired cocktails, live music entertainment, dancing and more for an evening you won’t soon forget. One of Maui’s most spacious and cozy touring yachts, you’ll set sail around the western shoreline just in time to witness a magical Maui sunset. In the months of December to April, this experience also doubles as a great whale watching experience, as humpback whales often come to the shallow channel between west Maui and the neighbor island of Lana’i to swim and give birth in the shallow, tropical waters surrounding the islands.
Once aboard, guests of this highly recommended sunset cruise will be treated to a full three course meal of carved prime rib, roasted chicken, macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi or vegetarian meatballs, with side dishes like salad, new potatoes, carrots and rolls, as well as a selection of cocktails like mai tais, strawberry lava flows, Maui Brewing Co. beers, wine, sodas, juices and water. For dessert, a slice of delectable cheesecake is served. Table service makes it easy to sit back, relax and enjoy the views, and entertainment from a rotating list of popular local musicians makes it even more memorable.
This experience is open to guests of all ages, and lasts approximately 2 to 2.5 hours with an approximate return time of 8pm. Upper deck seating and plentiful tables are guaranteed for all passengers, and it’s recommended to arrive for check-in by 4:45 to 5pm. We also recommend bringing a light jacket and any necessary seasickness medication, as well as your camera! Three alcoholic beverages are included in the ticket price, and any additional drinks may be purchased for $4 to $6. For more information or to reserve your spot, call 877-500-6284.

As the most exclusive snorkel excursion around Maui, our Lanai snorkel adventure transports you snorkel off of the shores of Lanai. Once home of Dole pineapples, the island is, now, owned by billionaire Larry Ellison of Oracle; meaning the best snorkeling, because not many boats go to Lanai! Our snorkeling adventure, off of Lanai, includes a continental breakfast, professional snorkel gear to fully appreciate this unique underwater oasis, flotation aids for anyone who would like a little assistance, snorkel instruction from our knowledgeable crew, and an ono (delicious) BBQ lunch. Although, most days, our guests don’t need it, wetsuits are available, for rent, upon request. When you’re finished snorkeling at the two premier destinations (Sweetheart Rock, named for its legend of forlorn lovers, and Turtle Town*, named for the many turtles that like to hang out nearby), sit back, enjoy the views of Lanai and the West Maui mountains, and a nice cold, refreshing beverage.

Tourism: The Fate of Maui
During the making of this documentary film, students investigated the impacts of the tourist industry on Maui's environment and culture. The students explore the impacts of tourism development on our economy, our fresh water resources, and our cultural identity. Through interviews with community members and their own observations, the students search for ways to make the future of our largest industry more beneficial to our environment and local residents. THE BEST SUNSET DINNER CRUISE in LAHAINA, MAUI, HAWAII
This short video is Part 8 of our 15 days (10-25 Oct 2018) holiday in United States as our Honeymoon of our Golden Wedding Anniversary.
This Sunset Dinner Cruise depart from Lahaina Harbor at 5:30 pm. We sit in the open-air on the top-deck, so we can see the really beautiful view of the sunset, Lahaina City and also the beautiful Maui Mountains. The sunsets are really spectacular.
The cruise last for 2,5 hours, we returned to Lahaina at around 8:00 pm.
Really, this is our Romantic Evening in Maui.
The food is OK, especially the Roasted Prime Rib.
Once again, we should say that it is really a beautiful Sunset Dinner Cruise. It seems that we did not wrong to choose this attraction as a honeymoon to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary.
Thanks God.......

Vising Maui Hawaii from Sky and Under Water - flight search - under water camera
The island of Maui is the second-largest of the Hawaiian Islands at 727.2 square miles (1,883 km2) and is the 17th largest island in the United States. Maui is part of the State of Hawaii and is the largest of Maui County's four islands, bigger than Molokaʻi, Lānaʻi, and unpopulated Kahoʻolawe.
Native Hawaiian tradition gives the origin of the island's name in the legend of Hawaiʻiloa, the navigator credited with discovery of the Hawaiian Islands. According to that legend, Hawaiʻiloa named the island of Maui after his son, who in turn was named for the demigod Māui. The earlier name of Maui was ʻIhikapalaumaewa.[6] The Island of Maui is also called the Valley Isle for the large isthmus between its northwestern and southeastern volcanoes and the numerous large valleys carved into both mountains.

Maui vacation August 2015
We left Boston and Phoenix for the cool sands of Maui, Hawaii. We stayed at the Westin Hotel on Ka'anapali Beach. We spent the first day poolside as we adjusted to the new time zone. One of our first activities was snorkeling and cliff diving at Black Rock. The snorkeling was quite good - we saw our first sea turtle. We spent a half day deep sea fishing, where we reeled in several tuna. Once the kids got the hang of snorkeling, we went to mile marker 14.0 with naturalists from The Ocean Project. Despite the poor visibility from the rain the day before, we saw several more sea turtles, along with other reef fish. Our catamaran trip aboard the Trilogy V to Molokini crater was a highlight. With more than 100 foot visibility, we saw moray eels and a variety of reef fish, including the famous state fish Humuhumunukunukuapuaa. We spare time in the afternoons, we battled the waves on Ka'anapali Beach, relaxed on Kapalua Bay, and went parasailing in front of our hotel. On the last day, we drove from Lahaina to Paia and spent a few hours on the Road to Hana. Throughout, we enjoyed great food from Star Noodle, Leoda's, Merriman's and my favorite - the Paia Fish Market. All footage was shot with a GoPro Hero 4 Silver.

Double Channel Crossings Maui to Oahu
Time for a haul out in Oahu so we gathered up some friends who have never experienced cruising and took them for a 2 day sail from our mooring in Mala Bay to Ke'ehi Marina. Plenty of wind and big swells made for an exciting ride. We have some tips on Lono Harbor if you plan to stop in there. Stay tuned for the Haul Out video next.

Lahaina Maui's Sugar Cane Train
I have been known to chase the vary SAME steam trains out departing from Steam Town in N.E. Pennsylvania more than once in my 63+ years on a Burgman scooter. So for me, it was just a somewhat forgotten and unexpected surprise to run across a steam train in the middle of the Pacific Ocean than end up chasing it to it's round table after it passed by me.
I was born n raised on the Island of Oahu in 1949 n lived on Hawaii till the late 1950s. This being the case I have lots more interest in old Hawaii than the typical tourist. So in the past I have noticed steam trains in Hawaii also on the Big Island in the Hilo area that was taken out by a Tsunami in the late 40s to early 60s (I forget which). However I surprised to come across a quite obvious deserted train bed in west Hawaii that may have emanated from the port of Hawahae that followed the coast north toward Upolo Point often seen on the malka (mountain side) of rout 270. I have never been to Hawaii with someone with a similar train chasing mentality as I so I have never been able to park n walk the deserted right of way and listen for the ghost steam whistles in the wind. So I am pleased to know that I have lots to learn about the USA's fiftieth state's steam history.
Visit the the Sugar Cane Train's web site at They have a link to the history of the Lahaina Sugar Cane past that is almost worth reading, guess this is better than nothing.
Humpback WHALES at Molokini Crater
Off the rim of Reef's end at Molokini Crater in Maui, in the state of Hawaii, I ran into two Humpback Whales while doing a cinematography dive. I was on my first solo trip to Maui and had booked this dive on a whim, and the dive turned out to be phenomenal! I was excited and this was my first encounter with whales. Here is a clip from the footage I shot of these whales during the dive. They made my diving experience at Molokini Crater absolutely phenomenal! It was a once in a lifetime moment and I am here to share it. I am a pretty experienced diver and I would recommend booking a dive at Molokini Crater if you can, the visibility there is amazing!

Maui Whale Watching - 2/2/15
Just after our last stop for snorkeling a curious female humpback whale approached as she was being pursued by a male. She spent 30 minutes with us, the male never too far away. Eventually the male pushed her back out to deeper waters, bringing the most incredible humpback encounter ever to an end! Thank you so much to Captain Steve's for such a memorable experience!
