Art Deco District - Miami Beach Florida
The Miami Beach Art Deco District Contains 800 historic buildings in that pre-war style. It is the largest concentration of Art Deco buildings in the world. Some people complain that these nice buildings have been taken over by bars and loud music. This place is also known as the American Riviera. Miami Beach also has 2 museums including the Erotic Art Museum & an Art Deco Museum also known as the Wolfsonian. Ocean Drive is one of the most famous roads in the world. Being here is like walking into the past from the roaring 20s all the way up to the 1950s.

The main attraction of Miami Beach is the Art Deco district of South Beach. In the Art Deco District of Miami Beach you will find the largest connected area of about 900 houses in this style. The buildings are mostly from the 1930s and 1940s. There are hundreds of hotels, holiday homes, restaurants and nightclubs. The Ocean Drive, the promenade of Miami Beach, leads directly through the Art Deco District. The beautiful city parks, for example. The Lummus Park separates the hotels from the wide sandy beach of the Antlantik. A walk is definitely worth it!

Art Deco Historic District - Miami Beach, Florida
The Art Deco period and style emerged in the 1920s, inspired at least somewhat by ancient Egypt, especially the discoveries associated with King Tut's tomb. The Streamline Moderne phase of the period began during the Depression Era, with machine-inspired forms. It was during this period that Miami Beach saw a building boom. Many of its buildings from that era represent the Streamline Moderne phase of Art Deco - with a tropical flare, i.e., Tropical Deco. Glass blocks, stripes, rounded corners, porthole windows, elements in groups of three, etc., characterize this architecture.
There are more than 800 Art Deco buildings in the approximately one square mile district, the largest such collection in the world.

Travel Miami, Florida - Art Deco in Miami
Take a tour of Miami's Art Deco Splendor in Miami, United States -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
The city of Miami Beach has long been associated with wealth and luxury, in fact, since the 1920s.
When Miami Beach was first being born, it was designed in the art deco style.
This bright and geometric style actually originates with the ancient Egyptians' ceremonial icons.
Americans at the time associated the bizarre style with extravagance, and incorporated it into popular culture.
This even influenced how the beach resorts of Miami should look, in order to attract people.
So, many of Miami Beach's buildings were shaped in bright colors and sharp lines.
The flamboyant style suits the warm air and bright beaches of Florida perfectly.
Sugar Factory - Ocean Drive | Groupon Review | Miami Beach, FL
Welcome to another Flept Groupon Review!
In this video we check out a Groupon in Miami Beach we purchased for $60 Value Towards Casual American Cuisine at Sugar Factory - Ocean Drive (Up to 38% Off) [link for Groupon down below]
Located outside the Hotel Victor on Ocean Drive, South Beach.
We decided to try one of their famous goblets (we got the Raspberry Watermelon Mojito) valued around $40 and are large enough to share between two people or more. We also ordered the Sugar Factory Rainbow sliders (valued at $25) and we also got free Mac and Cheese Pop Appetizers when you check in on Yelp. The bill came out to a total of $85 for just the rainbow sliders and one goblet, but thanks to the groupon we only paid $25 (on top of the $38 we spent on the Groupon) which sums up to a total of $63 spent on this experience, so we saved $22. Overall, this is another overpriced and over-hyped place to drink and eat at Miami Beach, but when you are on Ocean Drive you have to expect higher prices. In all fairness, the goblet is equivalent to 4 drinks and there are probably way better food options than the rainbow sliders. Definitely worth getting the Groupon if you are thinking of checking this place out.
After the Sugar Factory we head next door to the New Wild N Out Sports Bar & Arcade also on Ocean Drive. Not very impressed. It's a very small bar and only has two arcade games inside. Along the same strip there is the Versace Mansion, which we tried to check out but the only way you can see the inside is if you make reservations to eat inside at the restaurant Gianni's or stay inside the hotel.
We show other places to check out on Ocean Drive like the Palace and Social which has hookahs and drinks, as well as the Clevelander Bar and Hotel where the band has played at several times.
Across the street next to the beach entrance we also check out the Art Deco Welcome Center and the Official Art Deco Gift Shop filled with vert unique vintage items, memorabilia, and one-of-a-kind art.
We end the day at the beach but it didn't last long since it was going to rain any second and the sky was very gloomy (something to expect if you come to Miami during the summer).

Miami’s sweet new hot spot, Sugar Factory American Brasserie, is now open at the stylish Hotel Victor on Ocean Drive at the epicenter of South Beach’s celebrity and social scene. The 3,000-square-foot brasserie and retail store houses a luxuriously hip dining room and expansive 100-seat patio overlooking South Beach.
The menu at Sugar Factory Miami serves everything throughout the day from pancakes, crepes, salads, and burgers to satisfying desserts such as the legendary King Kong Sundae, hot chocolate, frozen hot chocolate, decadent shakes, including the chocolate cookie jar shake, made with Oreo cookie crumbles, chocolate chips, caramel, vanilla ice cream and pure melted chocolate, topped with whipped cream and Oreo cookies.
The eatery’s premium cocktails mix sweet treats with spiked adult beverages, including Sugar Factory’s signature alcohol-infused smoking candy goblets, such as the Berry Bliss, a scintillating mix of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. The martini selections include the Sour Apple Lolly Martini, finished off with a Pop Rocks rim and lollipop in the glass; and the S’Mores Martini, a comforting combination of chocolate and marshmallows, garnished with a graham cracker rim.

Miami Beach, Florida - South Pointe Park (2019)
South Pointe Park, known locally as South Pointe, is a 17-acre (6.9 ha) county urban park in metropolitan Miami, in the South Beach neighborhood of Miami Beach, Florida.
Miami Beach is a coastal resort city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. It was incorporated on March 26, 1915. The municipality is located on natural and man-made barrier islands between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay, the latter of which separates the Beach from Miami. The neighborhood of South Beach, comprising the southernmost 2.5 square miles (6.5 km2) of Miami Beach, along with downtown Miami and the Port of Miami, collectively form the commercial center of South Florida. Miami Beach's estimated population is 92,307 according to the most recent United States census estimates. Miami Beach is the 26th largest city in Florida based on official 2017 estimates from the US Census Bureau. It has been one of America's pre-eminent beach resorts since the early 20th century.
In 1979, Miami Beach's Art Deco Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Art Deco District is the largest collection of Art Deco architecture in the world and comprises hundreds of hotels, apartments and other structures erected between 1923 and 1943. Mediterranean, Streamline Moderne and Art Deco are all represented in the District. The Historic District is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the East, Lenox Court on the West, 6th Street on the South and Dade Boulevard along the Collins Canal to the North. The movement to preserve the Art Deco District's architectural heritage was led by former interior designer Barbara Baer Capitman, who now has a street in the District named in her honor.
