Lytton-Lillooet
Following the Fraser River, this route takes us through semi-desert country from Lytton to Lillooet BC via Highway 12. This is another wagon train route from the historical gold rush era of the mid-1800's. Some might claim that the current highway is only a slight improvement over the old wagon road - road closures due to rock slides are not uncommon.

On this day in history, the Seaview Highway opened a mainland router from Vancouver to Squamish. A huge motorcade travelling north from Horseshoe Bay and a motorcade travelling south from Pemberton met in Squamish that afternoon. A four day celebration followed. Drove Over a Broken Bridge - Kiskatinaw Bridge, Dawson Creek
leaving Dawson Creek in BC Canada we stopped at the wooden curved bridge. IT was one of the first wooden curved bridges built. It took almost 8 months which is how long the entire Alaska Highway was built

Hwy 99, Cayoosh Creek and bridge, BC
Its late in the evening and the road is deserted as I capture some views of Cayoosh Creek. Also seen is one of the few remaining narrow wooden bridges over Cayoosh Creek. This one will surely be torn up soon and the road realigned as has been done with the others in the past four years or so.
*This is not a safe place to be unless you have spotters warning of approaching traffic*.

Fraser River south of Lillooet, BC
After leaving the town of Lillooet, we take the Highway 12 which heads south and eventually ends up in Lytton. In this video we have stopped a few miles to the south of Lillooet to have a look at the scenery and some rafters in the river. The mountainside has had some slippage in this region which has effected the state of the Highway, the video is taken from the section just to the south of the where the slide damage first becomes visible.
