Recipe:
Lime juice - 25-30 ml
Sugar syrup - 10 ml
Gold rum - 30 ml
Mint leaves - 7-10
Angostura bitter - 2 dashes
Sparkling wine - top
Shake very gently and fine strain into chilled flute glass. Garnish with lime peel and mint. Enjooooy;)

With diverse indigenous, African, and European roots, Havana’s culture and architecture reflect Cuba’s complex history of conquest, slavery, liberation, and revolution. Chosen for its strategic location on the island’s northwestern coast, in the early sixteenth century, Havana grew into the largest port in Spain’s Caribbean colonies.
The original layout of Habana Vieja—Old Havana—is still intact. Building ordinances in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries preserved the city’s architectural integrity. Wrought-iron gates, internal courtyards, and stone colonnades adorn the buildings of its five main plazas.
Among some 900 surrounding historic structures, a few highlights include the Castillo de la Real Fuerza, one of the oldest existing forts in the Americas, the eighteenth-century Catedral de La Habana on the plaza by the same name, and the Museo de la Ciudad, housed in a baroque palace on Havana's original town square.
Even with international recognition, the work of preserving the historic city center remains ongoing.
Visitors from around the world flock to Cuba for its pristine beaches, exciting nightlife, and a fascinating, blended cultural heritage of art, music, and design.

How To Make An Old Cuban Cocktail
Created in New York's Pegu Club, The Old Cuban harks back to a glamorous age when America's jet set flocked to Havana, indulging in a heady mixture of sizzling music and elegant cocktails. With the tropical fruit and warm caramel notes of Bacardi 8 offset by fresh mint and chilled champagne, this is the Mojito's more sophisticated older sister.
Ingredients:
45ml Bacardi 8 Year Old Rum
2 Dashes of Angostura™ Bitters
20ml Freshly Squeezed Lime
Juice
25ml Simple Syrup (Sugar Syrup)
6 Whole Mint Leaves
60ml Chilled Champagne
(such as Veuve Clicquot™)
Glass: Martini Glass
Method:
1. Add the first five ingredients to a cocktail shaker & add cubed ice
2. Shake well & strain into a chilled martini glass
3. Top with champagne & finish with a sprig of fresh mint

This wonderful drink was created by my wife, Audrey Saunders, proprietor of the Pegu Club in New York City. You will notice that it is closely related to the Mojito, but with far more elegance and sophistication. Audrey garnishes her original version with a sugar-coated vanilla bean. See, I told you it was sophisticated!

Recipe:
3/4 oz lime juice
1 oz simple syrup
6 leaves mint
1 1/2 oz rum
2 dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters
Instructions:
Muddle mint with juice and simple syrup.
Shake with ice.
Strain into a cocktail glass.
Top with champagne.

He started rolling cigars in 1960 in the H. Upmann factory (previously Montecristo Factory) in Havana Cuba.
From 1985 to 1987 he was an instructor in rolling at the H. Upmann factory in Havana Cuba.
From 1987 to 1992 he was Head of production and administration in Rey del Mundo cigar factory in Havana Cuba.
From 1992 to 1998 he was Head of Rolling and production in the Partagas factory in Havana Cuba
Since 1998 he has been rolling cigars for demonstration and for private customers in several hotels and specialized cigar shops in Cuba such as: Chateau Miramar Hotel, Melia Habana, Comodoro Hotel and Partagas factory in Havana.
He has extensively performed internationally in Bulgaria, Algeria, the old Yugoslavia, Germany, Italy, UK, Spain, France, Canada, Mexico, UAE, Cyprus, Greece, Hong Kong, PRC, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan and elsewhere.
He is currently attached with Azan Tobacco Limited Company as the Cigar Ambassador for the Domazan Brand.

I FOUND THE LAST AIR NEW ZEALAND DC-10 | HAVANA CUBA
I'm on a special mission on behalf of the Bring Our Birds Home campaign, which is trying to repatriate all of the last remaining aircraft from the Air New Zealand fleet.
The DC-10 ZK-NZS is now sitting at Havana International Airport. It first flew for Air New Zealand, brand new, back in 1976.
Bring Our Birds Home wants to dismantle, and return this DC-10 to Wanaka in New Zealand, where they intend building a museum to house it, along with the last National Airways Corporation Boeing 737, an Air New Zealand DC-8, a Lockheed Electra and a Boeing 747.
Being an aviation enthusiast and a big supporter of the Bring Our Birds Home campaign, I offered to try and get as close to the Big 10 as I could, while on a trip to Cuba. Stepping on board would have been amazing - but as you can see we got close.
The Bring Our Birds Home team are now negotiating with the Cuban Government to buy this DC-10 and I was happy to help open a few doors, in that regard, and get some footage of this beautiful aircraft.
