Set on 30 acres of pasture and gardens, Ballyseede Castle is located off the main Tralee-Killarney (N21) road, just a few minutes drive from Tralee town, home to the internationally renowned 'Rose of Tralee' festival, held every August.
Tuam - An Enterprising Town
Tuam has always shown great resilience in business coupled with immense entrepreneurial spirit and drive.
The closure of the Irish Sugar Company in January 1987 dealt a heavy blow to the town and its rural hinterland but Tuam has since gone from strength to strength drawing on its rich ecclesiastical heritage, vibrant arts and cultural scene, and solid indigenous and international business community.
Tuam has benefited from key infrastructural upgrades in recent years with an investment of €28million to upgrade water and sewerage infrastructure as well as installation of both gas and high-speed broadband network. The recent opening of the M17 motorway has directly connected Tuam with Shannon Airport, Limerick, and Dublin.
This transformation of Tuam has resulted in a town that is primed with capacity and opportunities for people to work and live in the town, supporting the Atlantic Economic Corridor’s drive towards a low carbon, high value economy ideally located to serve and collaborate with the significant growth areas of Galway, Sligo and Athlone.
Tuam’s symbol is that of the Broken Wheel, a legend associated with St Jarlath. We are proud that the wheels of industry and innovation keep on turning. We invite you to visit Tuam, Co. Galway - an enterprising town with a warm welcome, ready and willing to embrace the opportunities and challenges of the future.

Flight above old Church ruins in mountains
Church built in 1819 for the Church of Ireland community and was consecrated in 1821. Some portions of a 14th century castle were apparently integrated in to the structure. The Church had a short term of use being superseded by the need for a larger church in 1870. It subsequently fell into ruin. Today it stands proud silently observing the tranquillity of the valley in Wicklow.

Talent Of Iveragh 2013 The Final Night
The Talent Of Iveragh Competition celebrated it's Grand Final on Sat November 9th 2013.
The two heats brought us fantastic talent from the area, spanning a variety of musical genres, performed by the young and slightly older talented performers.
Filemore hall has been the venue for the event. It is a wonderful athmospheric spot to hold the competition It is large enough for supporters to come and enjoy the show with a lovely warm and friendly welcome for visitors.
In it's inaugural year, the competition proved to have been a success and attracted serious talent to take part. The Talent show, run by Teacht Thar Sáile Folk Club is an open and inclusive competition allowing for people of all musical tastes and backgrounds to enter. Titanic & Bus Tours of Belfast - A Great Way To See Belfast
Other hop-on/hop-off buses do operate in Belfast - but we happened to get this one on the day. Why would you want to do this? Well - its an amazing way to see the city without too much walking (there will still be enough - believe me!). But you can jump off and on at the stops/places you want to see - and drive by others. You get a real feeling for the city and some insight at each stop. Really great value! For tourist or resident!
Located in the heart of Belfast, right next to the historic site of the original ship’s construction, Titanic Belfast is the World’s Largest Titanic Visitor Experience. Housed within an iconic six-floor building, this state-of-the-art visitor experience retells the history of the Titanic from its conception in Belfast in the early 1900s through the construction and launch to the famous maiden voyage and subsequent tragic sinking (
Contemporary interactive technology, special effects, and even a thrilling shipyard ride are all employed to immerse visitors in the Titanic experience. The building comprises nine galleries: Boom Town Belfast, The Arrol Gantry & Shipyard Ride, The Launch, The Fit-Out, The Maiden Voyage, The Sinking, The Aftermath, Myths and Legends, and Titanic Beneath.
Audio tours are also available in a variety of different languages, including English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Mandarin and Polish to cater to tourists from all over the world.
An on-site gift shop also offers visitors a chance to purchase an exclusive range of clothing, gifts and unique memorabilia, alongside a wide range of publications and contemporary products from across Northern Ireland (
Visitors to the city of Belfast can board the Belfast City Sightseeing hop-on/hop-off tour bus in order to reach Titanic Belfast while becoming acquainted with the city on the way!
Tourists get to explore the turbulent history of Belfast from an open-top bus provided with commentary on the Titanic City Tours. The route covers a numerous significant architectural sites including the renowned Queen’s University ( the giant H&W cranes, the Titanic birthplace as well as the Cathedral and Arts Quarters ( On the 48-hour hop-on/hop-off tour, visitors can also check out Ulster Museum ( The tour also includes the dark Crumlin Road Gaol and informs the guests of the Belfast murals on the arty Falls and Shankill roads (
One of the best things about Belfast city is that most of those attractions and touristic places which one could visit are close to one another and there are even those which could be reached within a walking distance, and this will help in making the plan for the day much easier and will give tourists the permission to visit several things without worrying about the distance between them.
Another thing about Northern Ireland in general is the fact that there are different small towns and cities which are not far from Belfast and thus could be taken as great options for those who have free days which they want to enjoy spending elsewhere - these examples include Donaghadee ( and Portaferry (
For tourists - a little more about the city itself - Belfast is the capital and largest city in Northern Ireland. It represents the center of several Irish industries, including linen, tobacco, rope-making and shipbuilding. In the early 20th century, Harland and Wolff, which built the RMS Titanic, was the world's biggest and most productive shipyard. Belfast played an important role in the Industrial Revolution, and was a global industrial center until the second half of the 20th century. It has sustained a major aerospace and missiles industry since the mid 1930s. Industrialization and the inward migration it brought made Belfast Ireland's biggest at the beginning of the 20th century.
Even though the city suffered greatly during the conflict called the Troubles, it has undergone a period of peace and economic and commercial growth.
Even if those different touristic attractions which you have placed on your list of things to do in Belfast could be reached through walking, it is sometimes a different experience to take the hop-on/hop-off bus tour in order to experience the city differently - it could be also a savior if the Irish weather is not helping and there is rain.
This has been one of our favorite rides and trips around Belfast and we recommend it for locals and tourists so that they get to know more about the city and the locations of its most visited attractions.
