These amazing natural structures rise from striking yellow sand in the desert 200km north of Perth in Western Australia. They truly need to be seen to be believed and are an amazing sight attracting thousands of visitors per year!

THE PINNACLES, CERVANTES, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
These snaps were taken in 2004 of the ‘Pinnacles’, in Western Australia, a stunning landscape of limestone pillars and rocks. They are part of the Nambung National Park. The nearest town, just north of the Pinnacles is Cervantes. This is about 250 kilometers (150 miles) north of Perth by road. There is a Visitor Centre, and guided tours are offered.

Cervantes, WA | The Pinnacles Desert - Nambung National Park
Thousands of eerie limestone pillars, up to 4m tall form the Pinnacles Desert. The moonscape scenery is made by the pillars rising out of the stark desert landscape of yellow quartz sand.
The Pinnacles Desert is best seen at dawn or dusk when they cast long, strange shadows over the rippling yellow sand dunes.

071 // I made it, the long drive from Albany.
I spent the entire day in the area, early morning fog covered the Pinnacles which was very cool, I then spent quite a few hours editing a few vlogs while a storm passed then made my way back just before sunset.
The plan was to stay in the area for most of the night, according to my Milky Way app the Milky Way was due in the spot I needed at about 10pm, unfortunately heavy clouds started to roll in, by 830 I couldnt see any stars then it started to rain, by about 9pm I decided to call it and made my way to Perth.
For the next 4 days I was on a non photography job so vlogging came to a halt until I left Perth.

Pinnacles Cervantes Western Australia
We took a 2 night trip to the Pinnacles and stayed at the RAC caravan park in Cervantes. The RAC Caravan Park is Awesome, its very new and the facilities are excellent. Great fishing off the jetty. Skippy and more Herring than you will need(handlines are fine). We were just catching for breakfast so only needed a few. The beach is a tiny little walk and the water is calm and clear. Take your own food as there not many good places to eat. We didnt try the LobsterShack but it looked pretty popular. The video is just of a steady cruise around the Pinnacles. They are almost endless and represent a good example of the Australian Outback without heading to far. Travel along Oceanic Drive have lunch at Lancelin, Yanchep National Park or Two Rocks. This was great little weekend getaway for us.
