HUJapan 2017 - Day 2: Sapporo City

Our first day of the seminar was full of interesting meetings. In the morning we met with Naomi-sensei and her students from Hokkaido university and had an interesting discussion on the students' involvement in the social activism in Israel, Japan and Korea.
After the meeting and lunch at the university's dining room, we went for a city walk and learned from our local students guides about Hokkaido's history and culture.
Our cloudy day continue to the red brick building that was used the Hokkaido government in the past and today is a museum of northern territories of Japan, that mainly tell the story of the Kuril islands and the history of Hokkaido. Then we experience a little more from Sapporo’s streets by walking to Odori park to impress of the Autumn Festival there full of unique Japanese food.
