Seville, Spain, walk in the center
The center of Seville in Spain is one of the typically great European urban neighborhoods with a mix of residential and shopping, pedestrian lanes, neighborhood plazas, just a real people-friendly place. We are going to take you through it with several walks, pointing out some of the major plazas and the lovely pedestrian lanes. Starting out at Plaza Nueva, the most popular place in town.
This central area with the plaza and the streets leading to it is really the heart and the focal point of the city. Notice the broad street that is for pedestrians, bicycles, no cars allowed, and the tram.
We have got more movies about Seville and other parts of Spain on our YouTube channel where you'll also find 1000 movies about Europe and some other parts of the world. If you're enjoying the program be sure to subscribe to our channel so you'll be notified about all of the new movies that we're regularly uploading.

3. VIDEO GUIDE: BEST TAPAS IN SEVILLE ????
⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯
Seville is possibly the best city in Spain for eating tapas. Whether you’re after modern tapas, or more traditional dishes, this city is simply mouthwatering. Perhaps the best place to eat in Spain!
I was in town for a Devour Tours get-together and on my last day - with a broken voice! - I decided to hit the bars. So, where did we go?
1. First we hit Casa Morales. The second oldest still-running bar in the city. It opened in the mid 19th century, and is still going strong. Here we started (breakfasted!) fino sherry, some excellent manchego cheese and a delicious montadito of bacalao (salt-cold) on bread with salmorejo. And, of course, we admired the gorgeous huge tinajas (wine vats). This place is unforgettable.
2. Next it was time for some more substantial cooked traditional tapas. So we headed to Bodeguita Romero, where they do killer versions of some of the city’s most classic dishes. First I tried the pringá, which is a fabulous sandwich of pork, blood sausage and other meat. Then I tried their carrillada (pork cheek) which literally melts in your mouth like marshmallow.
3. Next we went modern, heading to new favourite Palo Cortao. If you love sherry, this is the place for you. They have 80 sherries by the glass. And the food is also fantastic. From the false tomato, to the mackerel on sweet peas to the phenomenal cheese plate… this spot is definitely one of my new favourites.
4. Time to go totally off the beaten path. Mateo Ruiz is a heaving old joint that’s well-known for its excellent fried bacalao and €1 wine… the place was packed, and the atmosphere incredible.
5. Finally we hit La Tienda de la Azotea, and fantastic little joint that serves delicious and imaginative modern tapas and has an excellent wine list. I had an amazing almadraba tuna taco, some delicious octopus in a mole verde and some fantastic red wine from the Seville region.
Well stuffed… I rolled home, and back to Madrid… and to Yoly. I hope you liked the video!

Alcázar in Seville, Spain
The Alcázar is the royal palace of Seville, renowned as one of the most beautiful buildings in Spain. There was previously a Muslim fortress on this site about 1,000 years ago, which was entirely rebuilt in the 1300s and 1400s after the reconquest of Spain. Today the Alcázar is an outstanding example of mudéjar architecture, which is that special blend of Muslim and Spanish styles that displays very elaborate ornamentation. For the next several hundred years the complex expanded and grew into one of the grandest palaces in Europe. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987, it is one of the most popular attractions in Spain and a must-see while you are in Seville. Our visit includes the Alcázar gardens with their labyrinths of flower-lined walks, and glorious date-palms, bananas, orange tress and citron groves. It really is a pleasing spot within the palace enclosure. The Alcázar is situated just next to the Cathedral so it is very easy to find.
We walked through the Alcázar with a local guide, which is always a great way to learn more about a place – you don’t have to go fumbling for books or walking through without understanding what you’re looking at.

The gardens are a most pleasing spot within the enclosure. They form a delicious presence, where the orange and citron diffuse their fragrance, and magic fountains spring up suddenly beneath the traveler’s feet, sprinkling with a cooling dew. The gardens actually open up earlier than the palace, so if you are up first thing in the day and you want to get a head start, take a walk in the gardens and then you can be first in line for entering the Alcázar Palace.
And then you can walk up steps to the second level, which gives you a beautiful panorama view over the gardens as you stroll along through the arcaded hallway. Parts of the second floor are still utilized by the royal family today as their private residence and official rooms for functions.
The cathedral of Seville is the world’s largest Gothic church. By any standard, the cathedral is unbelievably huge and amazingly beautiful. There are so many tall columns holding up the lofty ceiling 130 feet above the floor that it seems like you are strolling through a vast, indoor stone forest.
This grand church is located of course in the center of the historic Old Town with several prominent landmarks next to it: the Archives building and the Archbishop's Palace. Situated on a broad plaza, it's also located right next to the Alcázar Palace.
This site has been for millennia Seville’s main religious setting. Before the cathedral was constructed this was the location of one of the most important mosques in the Muslim world and 2,000 years ago it was the scene of an important Roman temple.
The entrance brings you first into the gorgeous patio courtyard. This courtyard is called Patio de los Naranjos, as in patio of the orange trees which are growing here. Formerly it was the courtyard of the original mosque on the site that was used for cleansing, for the worshipers on their way in, for ablution. This courtyard and the Giralda Tower, that we will see, are the only two remaining features of the original mosque.
Walking up the Giralda is one of the most interesting and fun things you can do while in Seville: not only will you gain great views over the vast cathedral and surrounding rooftops of the old town, but you will also have the unusual experience of walking up all those ramps that wind round and round inside the square tower.
The space of the top of the Giralda is a lovely promenade. You walk all the way around the tower to get your different views looking in all the cardinal directions, 360° panorama spread out down below all around you.
The view from its upper galleries is another one of those sites that one can never forget, with the city spread out below as a map with white, closely-packed houses looking like toys. And one looks down into patios, rooftop pools, on brown and yellow tiles, along narrow streets that wind like dark thread and then across all the housetops.
Royal Alcazar of Seville - Spain 4K Travel Channel
The Alcazar of Seville, the Royal Palace, is located at the end of the old town of Seville, directly opposite the cathedral. Originally it was built as a fortified palace by Abd-al-Rahman III, Emir and Caliph of Córdoba, in 913. In the 11th century, Al-Mutamid, the king of Seville built the Alcázar, or what he called the Blessing Palace. For centuries it served as residence for many generations of monarchs. Nowadays it is the residence of the Royal Family during their stays in Seville.
Over the course of the centuries it became a complex of several palaces with beautiful courtyards. (Therefore, in Spanish one uses the term in the plural, the Reales Alcázares de Sevilla). Still today, many architectural features Moorish-style can be recognized.
It is the oldest palace in Europe, which is still used today. Since 1987 it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Alcazar lies behind the palace wall. We enter the Alcazar by the lion gate, the La Puerta de Leons and reaches the lion court.
To the right is the so-called Room of the Admiral in the Casa de Contratación, the House of Trade. It was built around 1503 to regulate the trade with the new colonies. Here, once met Ferdinand and Isabella with Columbus after his second trip.
To the left is the Justice Hall, La Sala de Justicia. The yard of Monteria, Patio de la Montería leads to the palace of Peter I, Palacio mudéjar o de Pedro I. Originally built in 1364, the palace is an excellently preserved example of Mudejar architecture, a combination of Christian architecture with Moorish elements.
Next to it is the Palace of Charles V, Palacio Gótico. Here, the marriage of Emperor Charles V and Isabella of Portugal took place in 1526.
Highlight of the Alcazar of Seville are the gardens, originally dating back to Charles V. The impressive gardens have undergone several stages of development, so that you can admire the influences of horticultural art of Arabia, France and Britain today. Fountains, watercourses, grottos and shady trees provide relaxation from the hustle and heat of the city.

5* TOURIST GUIDE SPAIN - Part 2: Luxury hotels, Seville, Malaga and Fuengirola
Thanks for watching guys, give this video a thumbs up if you enjoyed it and subscribe for more weekly travel vlogs:
This is part 2 of my Spanish adventure (come tourist guide to Spain) along the Costa del Sol, where I enjoyed some stunning 5* hotels, explored Seville and sunbathed on Fuengirola beach. Join me and my girlfriend on our roadtrip, pick up some useful tips on how to do the same and even checkout Malaga airports new business class lounge.
*** First stop: AMA Andalusia Resort & Health Retreat you can check this hotel out here: and my word what a place. It's a health hotel so expect top notch but healthy dining, excellent facilities and an awesome Spa!
*** Second stop: Seville for the afternoon. I do seem to have a habit of visiting new cities in a whistle-stop manor. Seville was awesome, I checked out the Cathedral, explored the old city streets and relaxed in a rooftop bar drinking Mojitos.
*** Third stop: The wonderful DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Resort & Spa Reserva del Higueron. You can check this out here: The room was amazing, got an upgrade which was lovely, with sea views and a bath in the middle of the room! I do wonder what it would be like to share with someone you weren't too familiar with as everything is open plan including the toilet!
It's worth to note there were a couple of niggles. The facilities which I disagreed with; the rooftop pool which was chargeable to the tune of €15pp each day and a closed main pool. Overall though this was forgiven due to the room and location.
Lastly we checked out Malaga's relatively new Business class lounge, which was interesting... Typical of third party lounges, they're never as plush and luxurious as airline run/owned ones. The whole lounge felt like a massive waiting room, which whilst I get is the point, it should really feel more relaxed and a space to unwind. The facilities were ok, with some basic breakfast items (being 5am), cava, beer, wine etc. As well as a computer business facility and rather odd cinema room.
My flight back to Bournemouth was great, I got some shuteye, watched an episode of Game of Thrones and arrived fresh for a days work.
