LUXURY IN PARADISE VALLEY - Mountain Shadows resort room tour
Nestled under Camelback Mountain in the appropriately named Paradise Valley, Arizona, the Mountain Shadows resort ( is a brand new version of an old classic. First opened in the Swinging 60's, the desert resort was popular with Hollywood celebrities. After a few ownership changes over the years, the resort was recently completely re-built and re-imagined, in the same basic place as before. I thought it was really beautiful, very new and great Mid-century Modern style throughout.
I was there as part of my Cadillac Super Cruise Super Drive in the 2018 Cadillac CT6 ( I had a chance to drive the CT6 from Santa Fe, through Paradise Valley to LA and use its amazing hands-free Super Cruise technology.
Here's a tour of room 153 at Mountain Shadows. I loved the loft-like feel of the room.

Buying a White Mountains AZ Home - A Little Piece of Heaven!
Buying a White Mountains AZ Home - A Little Piece of Heaven!
Just a short drive northeast of Phoenix Arizona is a landscape you'd expect to find in the Pacific Northwest or Canada and many people are completely unaware of this Arizona oasis. The White Mountains of Arizona is a 4 seasons wonderland with elevations ranging from 6,000 to 11,000 feet above sea level.
Sunrise Ski resort is Arizona's premier Ski destination - home to 3 interconnecting mountains and 65 trails, along with 2 rental locations, 7 lifts, full-service ski and ride school as well as a restaurant and hotel just minutes from the mountain. Sunrise also allows sledding and tubing in designated areas free of charge.
The greater White Mountains comprises many small communities, these communities include the towns of Greer, Alpine, Nutrioso, Eager, Springerville, Pinetop, Lakeside, Show Low, Taylor, Snowflake and Heber/Overgaard. The White Mountains is located approximately 40 miles south of Interstate 40 at the Holbrook, AZ exits. From the greater Phoenix area, Highway 87 through Payson, Arizona and Hwy 60 from south Phoenix will bring you in.
Show Low is considered the hub of the White Mountains with a regional airport that provides 3 flights per day to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and back. There's also a regional hospital along with many shopping and dinning opportunities. the average annual snowfall in Show Low is 26 inches with an elevation of 6,500 ft above sea level.
Rainbow Lake, Show Low Lake, and Fools Hollow Lake are popular recreational lakes with anglers pulling out small mouth bass, apache trout & brown trout. You'll also find a plethora of pristine lakes and streams on the White Mountains Apache Tribe Reservation just a few miles south of Pinetop, also home to the Hon-Dah Resort Casino and historic Fort Apache.
Regarding White Mountains real estate, there's a home for every taste & budget - from modest living to gated lakefront luxury homes, Town homes to Condos and everything in between. Since the White Mountains is primarily a second home/vacation market and only a very small percentage of land can be privately owned, White Mountains real estate is always a smart investment for savvy buyers.
When you buy a White Mountains AZ Home, you'll enjoy all the peaceful pleasures of one of the country's most beautiful areas.

The Bohemian Hotel Celebration: FULL Room & Hotel Tour
In today's vlog, we enjoy a stay at the Bohemian Hotel in Celebration, Florida. The Bohemian Hotel Celebration is part of Marriott's Autograph Collection. We stayed in a 2 Queen, Sofa bed studio, which was an upgrade from the King guest room we originally reserved. The Bohemian Hotel Celebration is a 15-20 minute drive to the Walt Disney World Resort, depending on where you're going on property.
The first thing you'll notice about the Bohemian Hotel Celebration is the red and white rotating sign, showcasing Bohemian Hotel and Celebration. Upon walking into the lobby of the Bohemian Hotel Celebration Florida, the first thing I noticed was the lovely smell. A candle was burning nearby from The Kessler Collection, which is the company that owns the Bohemian Hotel Celebration.
The lobby of the Bohemian Hotel Celebration is filled with interesting decorations and works of art, many of which are inspired by Florida. Just off the lobby is the Grand Bohemian Gallery, where you can purchase works of art. The Bohemian Hotel Celebration has a small, but adequate fitness center with dumbbells, treadmills, and even some grab and go apples!
Just down the hallway from the fitness center is the restaurant right on Lake Rianhard. This outside area, of course, has interesting decorations like red chandeliers seemingly made from red sticks, a canoe, and a ten foot tall statue of a Native American. The pool is right to the side of this restaurant/patio area.
The Bohemian Hotel Celebration has a few meeting/reception areas. Mounted on the wall in the hallway in this area was a ten foot alligator! As I mentioned before, this hotel is styled with Florida very much in mind.
I'm not sure if all of the rooms in the Bohemian Hotel Celebration have balconies, but our two Queen/sofa bed studio did, complete with two white rocking chairs. Our room looked over the streets of Celebration and Lake Rianhard. Thanks to a handy book located in the nightstand, I found out that the Bohemian Hotel Celebration was the fifth hotel added to the Autograph Collection.
We wrapped up our stay at the Bohemian Hotel Celebration with a walk around Lake Rianhard. This hotel in Celebration is also just a walk, short bike or scooter ride away from all of the restaurants, shops, and activities that Celebration, Florida has to offer. If you're interested in staying close to Walt Disney World property, but just slightly out of the Disney bubble, give the Bohemian Hotel Celebration a shot!
