About American International Motorcycle Expo
The American International Motorcycle Expo's (aimexpousa.com) purpose is to serve as the catalyst to bring together industry, press, dealers and consumers in a single arena that creates a grand stage for motorcycling in the U.S. and North America, and delivers an efficient and energetic market-timed expo platform for B2B and B2C in the motorcycle industry. AIMExpo is the single most important show of its type in the North American market and will have international impact within the motorcycling community.
Arguably most recognizable for its flourishing scooter population, Spain has become a standard bearer for the scooter segment of the global marketplace while also providing some of the best performance and design products in the world.
Spanish motorcycling brands have a long history in the American market and it's a big part of why we chose to dedicate a section of the show floor to it, said Mike Webster, President of Marketplace Events' Trade Show Division. Even more importantly, the influence of Spanish companies on the North American marketplace is something that we recognize and want to share with everyone who attends AIMExpo. The U.S. consumer is known for wanting the best-of-the-best and the companies we have exhibiting at the show all provide high-end, high-performance products.
With the inclusion of the Spanish showcase, AIMExpo establishes itself as the largest gathering of European manufacturers, distributors, and associations of any powersports trade show in North America.
Attendees at AIMExpo will also have the opportunity to get a Taste of Spain with Master Slicer Francisco Carrasco, whose extensive years of training have made him an expert in the fine art of slicing Spanish ham. Carrasco will be serving free samples of his country's iconic Iberico ham and other Spanish culinary delights at the Spanish Lounge.
The inaugural AIMExpo will revolutionize the Powersports industry as North America's first combined consumer, trade and media event. It will be held on October 16-20, 2013 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

More recently, she has been most concerned with issues relating to ageing and older persons in the Caribbean. In 1999 Dr. Rawlins was the initiator and coordinator of a successful conference on the Older Person. The Theme of the Conference was Maturing at a Health Pace: Appreciating the Older Years. She also assisted in the coordination of the UWI/ECLAC Caribbean Symposium on Population Ageing which was held in Trinidad in November 2004. Dr. Rawlins was a key member of the Trinidad and Tobago government-appointed Inter-Ministerial Committee on Ageing, which developed the national Policy on Ageing which came into being in 2007.
She is a director of the Alzheimer's Disease Association of Trinidad & Tobago and has participated in all of the annual events which celebrated the International Alzheimer's Disease month since 2007. Sixty years and on in Trinidad & Tobago: Conversations with older women although about twenty (20) women, pays tribute to the 200 women who participated in a study of older women in north, central and south Trinidad and Tobago in 2006. This book is a prelude to a larger on-going work which has the title 'The Reality of Older Women in Trinidad & Tobago'. In addition to the survey-styled interviews which were done of the 200 women, these twenty women were the ones who provided us with additional information about their lives. This information now affords us a better understanding of older women in Trinidad and Tobago. Sixty years and on in Trinidad & Tobago: Conversations with older women allows us to hear of the concerns of older women who spoke not only of themselves and their issues, but also about their concerns for their family, extended family and the society. This book would be useful for students of gerontology, medical students, social work, sociology and policy making students as well as the general public. Anyone with an interest in issues of aging will find this book useful, as it speaks about a group of persons on whom so much depends in this society. Essentially, this important book provides insights into how it really was for older women of Trinidad & Tobago in 2006.
Sixty Years and On in Trinidad & Tobago: Conversations with Older Women (FMS, UWI, 2010)

FRAGILE ~ STING ~ SANTA ROSA ISLAND ~ GULF OF MEXICO ~ MAY 2010
Once upon a time, when my dad and mom brought us to this beautiful place, we would spend the better portion of our life combing this island...looking for buried treasure...there were many...so many days of sunrises and watercoloured filled sunsets...Coquinas, conchs, olive shells, floundering, crabbing, scalloping, the list goes on...we have watched the destruction from hurricanes...to the worse destruction of all..progress..I just never dreamed it could all end overnight... facing it could all end within a few days makes the true meaning of how fragile we are much more vivid. How could anyone put such a treasure at risk?
The photos of the beach and the sunset photos at the end of the island at Ft. Pickens were taken by my daughter, Sarah Marie on the fifth day of May, 2010. We had a wonderful day embracing one of our favorite places on earth...Santa Rosa Island.
Santa Rosa Island is a 40-mile barrier island located in the U.S. state of Florida, thirty miles (50 km) east of the Alabama state border. The communities of Pensacola Beach, Navarre Beach, and Okaloosa Island are located on the island. On the northern lee side, of the island, are Pensacola Bay on the west and Choctawhatchee Bay on the east, joined through Santa Rosa Sound.
Parts of the island are in the Gulf Islands National Seashore. Santa Rosa Island was the start of the earliest European settlement in the mainland United States, beginning in August 1559, led by Tristan de Luna from New Spain (Mexico).
Santa Rosa Island was the site of early exploration by the Spanish Conquistadors circa 1519. Years later, a settlement expedition arrived from Vera Cruz (of New Spain), in August 1559, led by Tristan de Luna. However, Spanish settlements in the area were later abandoned in 1561, due to problems of storms, famine and conflicts with native inhabitants. St. Augustine, Florida was later settled on the Atlantic coast of Florida, on August 28, 1565.
During the American Civil War, the island was the site of the Battle of Santa Rosa Island,[1] on October 9, 1861. Richard Anderson crossed from the Florida mainland onto Santa Rosa Island with 1200 men, in two small steamers, in a failed attempt to capture Fort Pickens (located on the west end of the island).[1]
In 1929, Santa Rosa Island was sold by the U.S. War Department to Escambia County, Florida, for US$10,000. Ten years later, the county returned the island to the federal government in the expectation that it would be developed into a U.S. National Monument preserving the remnants of Fort Pickens.
The island has seen many tropical cyclones, it was the landfall point of 1995's Hurricane Erin and Hurricane Opal. Hurricane Dennis hit the island in July, 2005 and at 120 MPH winds was the strongest storm to do so, however the most recent tropical cyclone however to make landfall on the island was Tropical Storm Claudette in 2009
In 2008-2009, a sunken Spanish ship was located/excavated offshore, confirming reports of the 1559 expedition by Tristan de Luna, as the earliest European settlement in the mainland United States.
Fragile is a song composed by English musician Sting from his 1987 album ...Nothing Like the Sun. Released as a single the following year, it placed to number 70 on the UK Singles Chart. Sung additionally in both Spanish and Portuguese under the title Fragilidad, it appeared twice more on his 1988 EP variant of the album, Nada como el sol. The Spanish version features as a b-side to I'm So Happy I Can't Stop Crying.
The song is a tribute to Ben Linder, an American civil engineer who was killed by the Contras in 1987 while working on a hydroelectric project in Nicaragua.
It was also used in many ads after the September 11th tragedy and was the opening song in Sting's ...All This Time concert, recorded that evening.
Lyrics:
If blood will flow when flesh and steel are one
Drying in the colour of the evening sun
Tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away
But something in our minds will always stay
Perhaps this final act was meant
To clinch a lifetime's argument
That nothing comes from violence and nothing ever could
For all those born beneath an angry star
Lest we forget how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are how fragile we are
How fragile we are how fragile we are

SUMMARY
=======
George Washington (February 22, 1732 – December 14, 1799) was one of the Founding Fathers and the first President of the United States (1789–1797). He commanded Patriot forces in the new nation's vital American Revolutionary War and led them to victory over the British. Washington also presided at the Constitutional Convention of 1787, which established the new federal government. For his manifold leadership he has been called the Father of His Country.Washington was born to a successful family of planters and slaveholders in colonial Virginia. He had educational opportunities and at age seventeen launched a successful career as a land surveyor. He then became a leader of the Virginia militia in the French and Indian War. During the Revolutionary War he was a delegate to the Continental Congress which unanimously appointed him commander-in-chief of the Army, leading an allied campaign to victory at the Siege of Yorktown which ended the conflict. Once victory was in hand, in 1783 he resigned as commander-in-chief, declining further authority and power out of his devotion to republicanism.
As the country's premier statesman, Washington was unanimously elected President by the Electoral College in the first two national elections. He promoted and oversaw implementation of a strong, well-financed national government, but remained impartial in the fierce rivalry between Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton. When the French Revolution plunged Europe into war, Washington proclaimed a policy of neutrality while sanctioning the controversial Jay Treaty.
