Hiking this penultimate county section on the SWCP proved to be a challenge given the changeable weather we experienced. We were well acclimatised to the endless hills by this point, but after a couple of days of rain, the desire to be back home in a cosy house was starting to play on our minds. South West Coast Path - North Devon
Continuing our trek along the 630 miles SWCP. North Devon proved to be the wildest of the county sections, and the weather was fairly kind, so on that basis we awarded it our favourite leg of the whole trip. Love watching this back. South West Coast Path - North Cornwall
Having completed the Somerset and North Devon sections, we felt strong and ready to tackle the 140 miles of the path along North Cornwall. We had our fair share of wet and windy weather, but there were glorious sunny sections also resulting in a good mix of everything.
Very much enjoyed North Cornwall. I think our mood changed a little in this section. We lost the giddy excitement of the previous two counties, with our mood being fresher and it still resembling a normal 1-2 week trek. In North Cornwall, we started to realise what it was like to do a long distance trek where you walk week after week after week with just a rest day in-between. That was a new regime for us and I think it was strange for us mentally to deal with it and stay strong.

Morte Point, Mortehoe Walks, South West Coast Path Walks, North Devon Walks, England UK
Morte Point, Mortehoe Walks was about 4.75 miles in distance on the South West Coast Path. The terrain of the route was a combination of quiet roads and a drive; woodland, rocky coastal and heathland paths. The walking was on undulating ground with a number of sections of steep ascent and descent which made this walk quite demanding. Route finding was easy with obvious paths, good waymarking and good landmarks. There were no stiles to negotiate.

Watersmeet Walk Lynmouth was about 4.75 miles in distance in Exmoor National Park. The terrain of the route was a combination of moorland, woodland, field, riverside and coastal paths. The walking was on undulating ground with gentle to moderate slopes except for one steep ascent. Route finding was easy with obvious paths, good waymarking and good landmarks. Some of the route can be a little muddy in places. There were no stiles to negotiate.

Great South West Walk on the South West Coast Path
The South West Coast Path is one of England and Wales' National Trails - and it's the longest at 1,041 Km or 630 miles. With the Path celebrates its 40th anniversary with the Great South West Walk - a sponsored relay walk event in April and May.

Lynton Walks was about 5.5 miles in distance via the Valley Of The Rocks in Exmoor National Park. The terrain of the route included a well-surfaced coast path, woodland tracks and quiet lanes. The walking was easy on undulating ground with gentle to moderate slopes. Route finding was easy with obvious paths, good waymarking and good landmarks. Part of the route could be muddy and waterlogged after rain. There were no stiles to negotiate.

South Devon Coastal Path - Start Point
Arriving at the ridge on Startpoint headland after walking from Salcombe. Wobbly camera - I was knackered!
South West Coast Path - Dorset
The final chapter concluding our long hike around the entirety of the South West Coast Path. Dorset was a relatively short hike compared to the other county sections taking 6 days for us. Our minds were very much fixated on the end as we entered Lyme Regis. But happy to report Dorset put on a good show and there is stunning coastline to take in, so we were pleased that our experience was full of amazing views and adventure all the way around. My Featuring pictures and videos are of the awesome Paddle Steamer on river Dart at Dartmouth. Devon UK and the Spectacular Brixham Harbour is one of the prettiest along the South Devon coast. Path walk is located on the southern side of Tor Bay
My journey along the The South West Coast Path was a Spectacular walk The awesome Paddle Steamer Dartmouth. Devon UK The South West Coast Path walk Dorset Devon’s coastline UK Spectacular Scenery along Dorset Devon’s coastline UK - is the last remaining coal-fired paddle steamer in operation in the UK today.
She was built in 1924 The steam railway has had a long historical link with the steamers on the river Dart. In her heyday when this impressive ship was the life blood of the river Dart, she could carry almost 500 passengers.
Brixham Harbour is located on the southern side of Tor Bay and boasts one of the largest fishing fleets in the UK, plus a thriving fish market to support it. Brixham with its many colourful houses cascading down on either side of the harbour is one of the prettiest along the South Devon coast. Brixham personifies the classic English fishing port, mixing tradition with a modern vibrant industry. The harbour is also home to a fleet of heritage trawlers, all lovingly restored by passionate enthusiasts
