Pagosa Springs Resort - Colorado
Joe created this video of our vacation! 1 week in the Antonito area and 1 week in the Pagosa Springs area. We spent a week in the Springs Resort & Spa soaking in the mineral springs and went out on a few adventures with the kids. We rented a Polaris RZR for some mountain trail fun in the Rockies and we spent a day on the Durango to Silverton narrow gauge train ride. We also hiked up to Piedra Falls. We had so much fun! 2011 Guinness World Records Event - The Springs Resort, Pagosa Springs (HD)
The World’s Deepest Geothermal Hot Spring event took place Saturday, August 20th, 2011 at The Springs Resort. The festive event, which was open to the public, included dancing by the Southern Ute Heritage Dancers.
The Mother Spring has been measured at a remarkable 1,002 feet in depth. The Mother Spring feeds mineral water to 23 soaking pools at The Springs Resort. The water from the Mother Spring is approximately 144 degrees. The springs draw their name from the Native American Ute tribes who discovered their therapeutic and healing qualities. Pagosa is derived from the native term “Pag Osah,” which is said to mean healing waters. The Springs Resort & Spa host more than 150,000 visitors annually.
Amanda Mochan, Adjudications Manager, Guinness World Records, will travel to Pagosa Springs to certify that the Mother Spring is the deepest geothermal hot spring in the world. After she confirms the depth of the Mother Spring, she will present the award to Owners Keely Whittington and Nerissa Whittington.

-Please don't judge us mommy's. We don't get out and away from the kids often but when we do, we go CRAZY! Backseat car singing and karaoke. Silly voices and noises. 50 state challenge, where we forgot a few states- please don't judge us! We'll teach our kids better than that. Maybe it was the Colorado high altitude getting to our brains. Visited the hot springs where the temperature was 110 degrees in the pools. IT WAS HOT WATER. Beautiful mountain views. To die for spa for relaxation and fun. We highly recommend visiting there one day soon.
