Crieff Visitor Centre Video

Crieff Visitor Centre offers something for everyone.
The Caithness Glass Factory is a jewel in the centre's crown and here you can view skilled craftsmen and women at work creating beautiful paperweights and art glass. In the shop you can also buy Dartington Crystal and glassware lines. It is also possible to make your own paperweight - call the centre to make arrangements in advance.
The small picture gallery and antiques area are well worth a visit.
The Garden and Plant Centre are stocked with an extensive range of plants and shrubs and trees as well as garden furniture, tools, pots, landscaping materials and bird care and feed items. Here you will find everything you need to make your garden bloom and FREE local delivery is also available.
Refreshments are available from the licenced restaurant and coffee shop - everything from hearty Scottish Breakfasts through to light lunches and afternoon teas - there's plenty of space to relax and refresh before continuing your exploring. The outdoor patio area next to the restaurant also has a playzone for young children.
The Drover's Exhibition (FREE Entry) takes us back in time to experience the life and times of the ancient Drovers with their Highland Cattle - one of Scotland's famous icons!
A visit here would not be complete without exploring the great retail shop which has a wide selection of contemporary and traditional gifts and souveniers.
You'll also find soft furnishings, home decor, kitchen and tableware as well as ladies and men's fashions and knitwear and accessories such as scarves and handbags.
All in all - a great stop with plenty to see and do for the whole family!

Old Photographs Comrie Perthshire Scotland

Tour Scotland wee video of old photographs of Comrie village in Perthshire, Scotland. Comrie's early prosperity derived from weaving. This was mostly done as piecework in people's own cottages and houses. Comrie was also important as a droving town. Highland Cattle destined for the markets of the Scottish Lowlands and ultimately England would be driven south from their grazing areas in the Highlands. River crossings, such as at Comrie, were important staging posts on the way south. Much of the land around Comrie was owned by the Drummond family, Earls of Perth, latterly Earls of Ancaster, whose main seat was Drummond Castle, south of Crieff. Another branch of the Drummonds owned Drummondernoch, to the west of the town. Aberuchill Castle, however, just outside Comrie was originally a Campbell seat. Comrie underwent something of a renaissance in the early 19th century and Victorian periods as an attractive location for wealthy residents and visitors. Robert the Bruce, king of Scotland, the outlaw Rob Roy McGregor and Scotland's internationally renowned national poet Robert Burns all mentioned their stays in the village Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.

The first day of our trip to Scotland in October, 2012. We left Nashville at 4PM on Saturday and arrived in Edinburgh about noon on Sunday - giving us plenty of time to see the city before exhausting ourselves and getting a good night's sleep.

Adventures in Music - New Music Plus Compilation

New Music Plus...UK is a creative and professional development programme created by PRS for Music Foundation and run in partnership with the hub to enable non-music and cross-art form organisations to co-produce dynamic live music events with hand-picked music events producers.

The producers were placed with innovative cross-artform host organisations and venues in cities and towns across the UK. The aim of the programme was to strengthen the producers' and organisations' approaches to programming new music and to engage with new audiences via a series of new music events that they worked on together.

Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery worked with Danielle Rose to create a series of concerts for Under 5's and their adults, focused on the best of world and folk performers from across the UK. This film compiles footage from those concerts, and highlights the audience participation and enjoyment.
